힐링가든을 모티브로 한 도자 테이블웨어 제작 연구

Abstract

꽃이 피고, 열매가 맺히며 새가 지저귀는 소리와 따사로운 햇볕과 같이 자연은 인간에게 정서적 안정감과 풍요로움을 제공한다. 공해에 시달리며 자연의 흔적을 찾아보기 힘들어진 오늘날, 현대인들은 일상에서 자연을 느끼기 위해 정원을 찾으며 조금이나마 그 속에서 힐링을 얻고자 한다. 이러한 자연 친화적인 행위로 인해 정원은 풍경을 조망하는 심미적 공간에서 치유･환경･심리･문화의 공간으로 확장되었으며 ‘힐링가든(Healing Garden)’으로 정의되어 점차 확대되고 있다. 본연구에서는 이와 같이 치유를 목적으로 하는 힐링가든의 역할에 주목하였으며 힐링가든의 구성요소를 모티브로 도자테이블웨어를 제작함으로써 일상생활에서 언제나 힐링을 느낄 수 있는 리빙환경을 제안하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 정원의 발달사에 있어 인간에게 어떠한 의미를 가지며 발전해왔는지 시대별로 정리하였다. 특히 동서양의 대표적 정원 양식과 이를 절충한 양식을 제시하고 여기에 구성된 요소들을 활용하여 테이블웨어의 아이템에 적용하고자 하였다. 다음으로 새롭게 대두되고 있는 힐링가든의 정확한 의미와 치유의 개념에 대해 구체적으로 제시하기 위해 힐링가든으로서의 조건 및 구성내용을 해외 및 국내 사례를 토대로 기준을 제시하였다. 시작품 제작에서는 힐링가든이라는 추상적 공간을 실제화하기 위해 도자 테이블웨어를 아이템으로 선정하였다. 모티브의 형상화 단계에서는 정원의 구성요소인 꽃과 인공물을 중심 소재로 선정하였으며, 도안화 단계를 거쳐 도자 아이템으로 제작하였다. 제작 기법에서는 섬세한 표현과 자유로운 형태 제작이 가능한 석고 원형의 조각 방식을 사용하였다. 모티브의 형상에서 보이는 조형적 특징을 테이블웨어가 갖는 특정한 기능에 접목시키는데에 중점을 두었으며 균일한 형태 표현과 생산 효율성 제고를 위한 최적의 석고 캐스팅 방법을 모색하였다. 장식적인 부분에서는 오수(吳須)안료를 사용한 하회 채색 방식을 중심으로 정서적 안정을 도모할 수 있는 색상배합과 채색실험을 진행하였다. 이와 같은 과정을 통하여 힐링가든이라는 공간을 도자 테이블웨어로 제작함으로써 일상에서도 언제나 편히 즐길 수 있으며 나아가 정서적 치유 수단으로서의 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다.| Nature, such as flowers, fruits, birds chirping and warm sunlight, provides emotional stability and abundance to humans. Today, when it is difficult to find traces of nature due to various pollution, modern people want to visit gardens to enjoy nature in their daily lives. Due to this nature-friendly behavior, the garden has expanded from an aesthetic space that overlooks the landscape to a space of healing, environment, psychology, and culture. This study focused on 'Healing Garden' for the purpose of healing among various functional gardens. The dictionary meaning of Healing Garden is "a functional garden aimed at recovering the mind and body through various gardening activities for the purpose of healing." Healing gardens differ from ordinary gardens in that they must be accompanied by experiences that can stimulate human senses such as visual and auditory elements in the creation of space. This is because Healing Garden aims to satisfy emotional stability by directly contacting nature by utilizing horticultural activities and environmental factors as a means of sensory stimulation. Existing healing gardens have been created and used in hospitals for rehabilitation of trauma patients and emotional stability of patients with mental pain, but have recently been expanding into spaces for the general public. This study summarizes the meaning and development of the space called garden to humans from the past to the present by era. Among the modern garden types, the concept, definition, and healing cases of Healing Garden are summarized in photos and tables. After that, the need for healing gardens as a means of healing for people suffering from diseases such as depression and depression was summarized. In the production of the prototype, ceramic tableware was selected as an item to realize the abstract space called Healing Garden. In the motif shaping stage, flowers and artifacts, which are components of the garden, were selected as the main materials, and they were made as ceramic items through the design stage. In the manufacturing technique, a gypsum circular carving method was used that allows delicate expression and free shape production. For uniform shape expression and convenience of production method, an implantation technique using a gypsum frame was used as a focus. In the decorative part, the under glaze coloring method using pigments was selected, and the shape and natural color of the material were emphasized using a spray coloring technique. The space called Healing Garden was made into ceramic tableware to suggest the possibility of a new healing method that can be enjoyed comfortably in everyday life.
