현악기 소리에 영향을 미치는 활털과 송진에 관한 연구

Abstract

바이올린(violin)은 현을 활로 문질러 소리를 내는 찰현악기(Rubbed string instrument) 중 하나로, 16세기 이탈리아에서 처음 만들어져 아름다운 음색(tone color)과 무한한 표현의 다양성으로 음향악적으로 가장 완벽한 악기 중 하나로 손꼽히고 있다. 현악기의 대표적인 악기로 꼽히는 바이올린의 연주에 있어서, 연주 기법이나 음질에 대한 연구, 악기에 대한 연구는 계속 이어지고 있다. 하지만 사람들의 관심은 좋은 소리를 내는 악기에는 관심이 높은 반면, 좋은 소리를 내기 위해 꼭 필요한 활에서 중요한 부분인 활털이나 송진에 관한 관심은 그리 높지 않다. 바이올린을 연주 하는데 있어 활은 악기만큼 중요하다. 활에 있어 좋고 나쁨을 결정하는 활대(bow stick)뿐 아니라, 줄에 직접적으로 닿는 유일한 부분인 활털(bow hair) 또한 굉장히 중요한데, 바이올린 의 음색은 활털의 종류에 따라 달라지기도 하고 활털의 교환 시기에 따라 달라지기도 한다. 본 연구자는 활의 변천 과정을 통하여 각 시대별 활의 차이점을 알고, 평소에 쉽게 접할 수 없었던 활털의 구조와 활털 종류에 따른 차이점을 알아보고, 활털과 관련이 있는 송진에 대해 이해함으로써, 연주자들이 아름다운 음색을 표현하는데 조금이나마 도움이 되고자 본 논문을 작성하려고 한다.|As the violin is a kind of Rubbed string instruments to make a sound through rubbing strings with a bow, it was made in Italy in the 16th century, and has been recognized as one of the most perfect instruments on account of beautiful tone color and infinite variety of expression as considering the aspect of sounds. In case of playing the violin, a representing instrument of the strings, the research of playing techniques, of tone color , and the instrument have been constantly executed. However, people have many interest in the instrument to make a good sound, whereas hardly take care of bow hair or rosin, important parts for a good sound. A bow is as important as the instrument in plying the violin. Bow hair ,which is the only part to contact strings directly, is very important as well as the bow stick to decide if a bow is good or bad. therefore the violin's tone color depends on the kinds or the exchange time of bow hair. I, this researcher, plan to prepare in order to help players to express beautiful tone color through understanding the difference by ages in through the changing process of the bow, examining the structure of bow hair and the difference according to the kind of bow hair, and understanding rosin related to bow hair.
