현대조각에서 신체를 통한 감정표출연구

Abstract

신체는 풍요와 다산의 상징으로서, 완전성을 구현해야 할 대상으로서, 관능적인 과시의 원천으로서, 그리고 공포, 불안, 도덕적 혼란이 일어나는 장소로서 그 면모를 다양하게 바꿔가며 역사에 등장해 왔다. 현대의 신체는 주변과의 관계 속에서 변화되는 환경적 신체로 본인의 억압된 감정을 표출할 수 있는 도구가 된다. 억압된 감정의 표출은 사회적으로 배척되고 배제되어 왔던 것들에 대한 주의를 환기시키고 우리 내면의 무의식 영역에서 존재하는 원초적이고 본능적인 감정을 건드리면서 시작된다. 이러한 억압된 분노가 한꺼번에 표출될 때 보이는 폭력성은 폭발적인 힘으로 발생되어 비사회적인 행위로 받아들여지고 다시 억압되고 통제받게 된다. 그러나 이러한 감정을 외부로 분출시키는 행위는 인간 내부에 억눌린 감정을 해소시킬 수 있으며 더불어 금기가 깨졌을 때 동반되는 쾌감을 느끼게 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 2011년 본인의 개인전 작품들을 바탕으로 인간의 무의식에 잠재되어있는 억압된 감정인 ‘분노’의 감정 표출을 신체변형을 통해 시각화 한 작품들의 이론적 내용 및 표현을 분석하여 서술하였다. 이러한 본인작품의 과정에 관한 연구인 본 논문은 모두 3장으로 구성되어 있다. 제 1장 서론에서는 본고의 연구목적과 연구방법, 그리고 연구의 범주에 대해 서술하였다. 제 2장 본론에서는 억압된 감정표출이 예술로서 이론적 배경이 된 개념을 정리하고 시대가 변화됨에 따른 ‘몸’에 대한 이미지 변화를 서술하였다. 또한 본인의 작품을 이론화 시킬 수 있는 그로테스크와 키덜트의 이론적 배경에 접근 하였다. 작품 표현 방법에 있어서는 신체를 통해 감정을 표출할 수 있는 형태변형 방법과 다양한 색감과 기법을 통한 표현방법 및 작품 분석을 서술 하였다. 제 3장 결론에서는 본 논문의 내용을 정리하고 앞으로 더욱 연구해야 할 과제와 작품의 나아갈 방향을 서술하였다. 본인은 감정의 표출을 통한 신체성의 모색과 다양한 색감과 기법을 통해 작품에 대해 더욱 깊이 통찰 할 수 있는 기회가 되기를 희망하며 본인의 작품의 진행 방향을 제시 하였다. | The body is a symbol of abundance and fecundity throughout history, object embodying completeness, source of sensual ostentation, and place where fear, anxiety, and moral confusion occur. To this the modern body may be a means to express suppressed feelings in relation to its surroundings. The expression of suppressed feelings focuses attention on the socially excluded triggering instinctive emotions hidden in the unconscious. Violence from oppressed rage is an anti-social act, and is also suppressed. The act of exposing such feelings at the exterior however, can resolve suppressed emotion, generating pleasure from a taboo being broken. This thesis describes the expression of suppressed rage innate in the unconscious through my works displayed at the 2011 my solo exhibition, analyzing the content and expression of the works through the modification of the body. This thesis, studying the process of my work production has three chapters: Chapter 1 accounts for study purpose, methods, and categories. Chapter 2 arranges the concept of the expression of suppressed feelings, and describes a change in body image dependant on changes of the times. The chapter also addresses the theoretical background of the ‘grotesque’ and ‘kidult’ my work relies on: ways of metamorphosing forms and expressing body images using diverse colors and techniques are analyzed and described. In Chapter 3 the content is summarized, and assignments requiring further study and direction are explained. I present directions for my work, to allow for profound insight into my work through diverse colors and techniques and the exploration of physicality.
