한반도 지형적특징을 모티브로 한 도자촛대연구

Abstract

오랫동안 문명은 인간이 자연의 이치를 이해하고 섭렵하는 과정에서 진화되어왔다. 그럼에도 불구하고 현대는 과학의 발전과 변화의 소용돌이 속에서 자연이 급격히 훼손되어 가고 있는 매우 안타까운 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 미가 환경에 지배된다는 조형사고를 바탕으로 우리가 살고 있는 지형의 특징을 觀照하고, 이미지화하는 작업을 시도하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 도출된 이미지를‘촛대’라는 형식에 부합시켜 건조한 아파트 중심의 거주공간에서 소자연을 경험할 수 있는 형상표현을 하고자 하였다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 동양의 자연관을 바탕으로 한국의 자연관을 이해하고 한반도의 지형적 특징과 문화적 관계를 조망한 뒤, 여기서 도출된 이미지를 촛대라는 형식으로 표현하였다. 또한 연구의 주안점으로서는 지형적 특징에서 도출된 이미지를 촛대의 기 능에 충실하도록 디자인화 하였으며, 현대의 생활공간에서 인간에게 유익한 의미를 낳을 수 있는 안정된 기형(器形)으로 제작하였다. 한반도는 대부분 노년기나 장년기에 해당되는 지형으로 구성되어 있지만, 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 지형의 연령에 나타나는 특징을 본인의 조형의식으로 재해석한 뒤, 공예목적에 부합한 요소를 등장시켜 제작자의 관념적 이해와 의식을 통해 재구성하였다. 본 연구를 통해 자연으로부터 얻은 영감을 작품에 응용하고, 또한 생활공간에서 공예의 수공예 목적을 강조하게 된 것은 단지 기능목적의 단순성을 떠나서 심미성이 또 다른 현대공예의 중요한 요소이면서 대안이라는 인식이 자리했기 때문이다. 작품제작은 복수제작이 가능한 석고성형방법으로 제작하였으며, 실내공간이라는 점을 고려해서 백색도가 좋은 점토와 유약을 사용하게 되었다. 현대인들의 정서와 공예품의 새로운 가치에 염두를 둔 본 연구의 작품을 통해 공예시장의 활성화에도 새로운 계기와 단초가 되기를 기대한다. | For a long time, civilization has evolved in the process that human beings understand and discover the order of nature. But, in modern times, it is very regrettable that nature is being damaged rapidly in the development of science and maelstrom of change. Based on formative thinking that beauty is dominated by the environment, this thesis studied the purpose and reason making us experience small nature in apartment centered living space built by contemplating and imaging the characteristics of the terrain in which we live by applying them to the form called‘candlestick.’ After understanding Korean view of nature based on oriental view of nature and surveying the cultural relationship and topographical features of the Korean Peninsula, the study was conducted expecting the function of a candlestick as the crafts purpose to give birth to a beneficial purpose in living space. Most of our country is the terrain corresponding to old age or manhood and it was reorganized through fragments of consciousness and ideological understanding by making elements suitable for the crafts purpose appear after reinterpreting islands including mountains with its own formation. Through this study, inspiration obtained from nature was applied to works and the handicraft purpose of crafts was emphasized in living space because, apart from the simplicity only meeting the purpose of using, awareness that aesthetics is another important element of crafts and alternative was placed. Works were produced in the plaster molding method that multiple production is possible and by considering the interior space, clay whose whiteness is good and glaze were used. The author hopes that this thesis work keeping emotion of modern people and the new value of craftwork in mind will be a head start in the activation of the craft market.
