한국·미국·영국의 대학부설 평생교육원 음악프로그램 분석

Abstract

본 연구는 한국의 대학 부설 평생교육원 음악프로그램의 다양화와 활성화를 위해 서울에 소재하고 있는 대학부설 평생교육원 8개 학교와 미국 2개, 영국2개 학교를 선별하여 학위제와 비학위제 음악프로그램 개설 현황과 특징을 분석하는 것에 목적이 있다. 이를 위한 이론적 배경으로 평생교육과 대학평생교육을 알아보았으며 평생음악교육, 국가평생교육진흥원의 학위제제도 등의 이론적 탐구를 실시하였다. 또한 국가평생교육진흥원의 학점은행제와 연구대상으로 선정된 학교들의 홈페이지, 홍보요람, 선행연구 및 국가교육기관 등을 기반으로 음악프로그램의 분류 기준을 마련하고 2018년 2학기, 2019년 1학기를 기준으로 개설되어 있는 음악프로그램들을 종합적으로 분석하였다. 한국, 미국, 영국 대학부설 평생교육원 음악 프로그램의 분석을 통해 나타난 현황은 다음과 같다. 한국의 대학부설 평생교육원은 학위제와 비학위제로 구분되어 있고 학위제는 국가평생교육진흥원의 표준교육과정을 중심으로 운영되고 있어 개설된 프로그램은 비슷했다. 대부분의 학교에서는 피아노·작곡·성악·관현악 전공과정의 서양음악 프로그램을 주로 개설하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 교육유형은 실기와 감상이론으로 분류되었고 실기프로그램의 개설 비율이 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 또한 학위제가 표준교육과정을 따라 운영되고 있지만 수강료는 학교마다 다르게 책정되어 있었다. 프로그램의 수강신청은 한학기단위로 진행되고 있었다. 한국의 비학위제 음악 프로그램의 교육과정은 목적에 따라 크게 일반교양·전문교육·음악실기교육·콘서바토리 과정으로 분류되었으며 전문교육과정의 개설비율이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 학교마다 개설된 비학위제 프로그램의 종류는 다양했고 교육유형은 실기와 전문지도자로 크게 분류되었다. 대체로 전문지도자 보다는 실기유형의 비중이 더 크게 나타났다. 교육기간은 8일에서 16주로 학교마다 조금씩 차이가 있었다. 미국과 영국의 대학부설 평생교육원에는 한국의 학위제와 유사한 제도가 마련되어 있었으나 음악 프로그램에서는 시행되지 않고 있었다. 미국과 영국 대학부설 평생교육원의 음악프로그램 교육과정은 일반교양과정만을 운영하고 있었다. 교육유형은 실기와 감상이론 두 가지로 분류되었으며 감상이론 프로그램의 개설이 더 높게 나타났고 교육기간은 1일부터 14주 까지 다양하게 운영되고 있었다. 한국과 외국 대학부설 평생교육원의 음악프로그램의 현황을 비교한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국 대학부설 평생교육원은 미국과 영국 대학부설 평생교육원에 비해 음악학위제도가 활발하게 시행되고 있다. 둘째, 한국 대학부설 평생교육원 음악프로그램의 교육과정은 전문교육과 일반교양 증진을 위한 것에, 외국은 일반교양 향상에 목적을 두고 있다. 셋째, 한국 대학부설 평생교육원 음악프로그램의 교육유형은 실기·감상이론·전문지도자로, 미국과 영국은 실기·감상이론으로 나누어지며 한국은 실기프로그램이, 미국과 영국은 감상이론 프로그램이 많이 개설 되어있다. 넷째, 한국과 미국과 영국 모두 유럽 중심의 고전예술음악인 서양음악 프로그램을 많이 개설하고 있고 한국의 경우 기악프로그램, 외국은 서양음악사 프로그램이 가장 많이 개설되어 있다. 다섯째, 한국 대학부설 평생교육원의 프로그램은 국내 수강생들만을 대상으로 교육을 진행하고 미국과 영국의 대학부설 평생교육원은 여러 나라의 수강생들을 대상으로 하고 있다.|ABSTRACT

A Study on the Music Program of the University Lifelong Education Center in Korea, United States and United Kingdom.

To diversify and revitalize the music program of the Korea Institute of Lifelong Education, eight schools of the university's Lifelong Education in Seoul, two schools in the U.S. and two schools in the U.K. were selected to analyze the status and characteristics of the opening of the degree and non-degree music program and compare the differences. As the theoretical background for this, we studied lifelong education and university life education, and conducted theoretical exploration such as lifelong music education and the degree system of the National Institute for the Promotion of Life. It also prepared criteria for classifying music programs based on the web site, prior research, and national educational institutions of schools selected for the credit rating banking system of the National Institute for the Promotion of Life, and comprehensively analyzed music programs that were opened based on the second semester of 2018 and the first semester of 2019. The conclusions presented in the study are as follows. Most of the programs opened are similar, as Korea's University lifelong Education Center is divided into a degree system and a non-degree system, while the degree system is centered on the standard education courses of the National Institute for Lifelong Education. Each school has one to four degree courses and mainly programs for Western music in the major courses of piano, composition, vocal and orchestral music. Education types were classified as practice and appreciation theories, and the percentage of practical programs opened was higher. In addition, while the degree system was run according to standard education courses, tuition fees were set differently for different schools. For the educational period, the program was applied for a single semester and a degree was available only after taking four semesters. The curriculum of non-degree music programs in Korea was largely classified as general education, professional education, music practical education, and concert hall courses according to their purpose, with the highest ratio of professional and music practical education courses. Each school has various types of non-degree programs, and the types of education were largely classified as practical and professional leaders. In general, the proportion of actual types was greater than that of professional leaders. The length of education varied slightly from eight days to 16 weeks. The University Lifelong Education Center in the U.S. and the U.K. had a similar system to Korea's degree system, but it was not implemented in music programs. The music program curriculum at the U.S. and British university Lifelong Education Center was running only general liberal arts courses. Education types were divided into two categories: practicality and appreciation theory, the opening of an appreciation theory program was higher, and the period of education was diverse from one to 14 weeks. The results of comparing the music programs of Korea and foreign university Lifelong Education Centers are as follows. First, Korea University Lifelong Education Center is actively implementing music degree systems compared to those of U.S. and British universities. Second, the curriculum of the music program of the Korea Center for Lifelong Education is aimed only at enhancing professional education and general education, while foreign countries are only trying to improve general education. Third, the type of education in the music program of the Korea Institute for Lifelong Education is divided into practical, appreciation, and professional leaders, and the U.S. and Britain are divided into practical and appreciation theories, while Korea has a lot of practical programs and the U.S. and the U.K. have a lot of appreciation programs. Fourth, both Korea and the U.S. and the U.K. have many Western music programs, European-oriented classical music, in instrumental music in Korea and in foreign countries, the most Western music history programs. Fifth, the Korea Institute of University Education's program provides education only to domestic students, while the U.S. and British university-affiliated Lifelong Education Center targets students from various countries.
