피아노 교육이 음악교과와 인성에 미치는 영향에 대한 조사-중학교 1학년을 대상으로-

Abstract

본 연구는 대부분의 학생들이 피아노를 교육받는 시기인 어린 시절의 피아노 교육 경험에 대해 학생들의 입장에서 피아노 교육이 음악 교과와 인성에 실제로 도움이 되는지에 대해 알아보고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 방법으로는 어린 시절 일정기간 동안 피아노를 배운 경험이 있는 학생 300명을 대상으로 본 연구자가 직접 제작한 설문지가 사용되었으며, 설문의 내용을 각 항목별로 집계하여 백분율로 계산하였으며, 또한 항목들 간의 관계를 비교하고자 통계 처리하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 바탕으로 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 모방심리가 아닌 확실한 동기에 의해 피아노를 시작하게 된 학생들이 그렇지 않은 학생들 보다 피아노를 더 오랜 기간 동안 교육 받음으로써 피아노 교육을 하는데 있어 동기가 중요함을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 많은 학생들이 이론을 공부하는데 있어 ‘각 학년별 음악공부’와 ‘기초 이론 교재’를 병행함을 알 수 있었으며, 피아노 교육이 현재 음악교과를 공부하는데 있어 도움이 됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 피아노 교육을 받은 기간이 긴 학생일수록 피아노를 교육 받은 것이 현재 음악교과를 공부하는데 있어 더 도움이 된다고 생각함을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 피아노 교육이 학생들의 정서, 표현력, 집중력에 도움이 되는 반면, 학생들의 사교성과 자신감에는 크게 도움이 되지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 피아노 교육을 받은 기간이 긴 학생일수록 피아노 교육이 본인의 정서, 표현력, 집중력, 사교성, 자신감에 더 도움이 된다고 생각함을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 현재 음악과 관련된 특별활동을 하고 있는 학생들에게 있어 피아노 교육 경험이 긍정적인 영향을 미침으로써 학생들이 특별활동을 선택하는데 있어 음악과 관련된 특별활동을 선택함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 피아노 교육을 받은 기간이 긴 학생일수록 현재 학교에서 음악과 관련된 특별활동에 더 많이 참여하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이렇듯 피아노 교육은 단순한 음악교육이 아니라 전인적 인격 교육에 있어서도 중요한 역할을 한다. 따라서 피아노를 학습하는 모든 학생들이 피아노를 통해 음악을 이해하고 생활화하여 보다 아름다운 심성과 정서를 함양함으로써 바람직한 인격을 형성해 나갈 수 있도록 해야 할 것이다.|The purpose of this thesis is to propose the theory that a student’s personality and the music curriculum they choose in their academic lives are both influenced by taking Piano Education at a young age. To prove this theory, a questionnaire was drawn up and 300 students who had previously taken lessons on a piano were surveyed. The results were then tallied and analyzed statistically in order to find correlations with the proposed theory. The analysis of the data provided the following results : First of all, self-motivation is a significant element in learning the piano. The results showed that students who have high self-assurance tend to study the art of learning the piano longer than students who simply mimic what they are told. Secondly, many students who study the music books "Music Education by Grade" and "Basic Theory of Music"in their music classes ends up learning more about music theory and the piano. Additionally, students who have enrolled in Piano Education for an extended period of time tend to take more music classes in order to help them learn more about music in general and get a richer education. Thirdly, enrolling in Piano Education helps students with their emotional stability and their abilities to express themselves more freely and concentrate better, even though the focus is not to improve their social skills or heighten their self-confidence. If a student enrolls in Piano Education long enough, these qualities start to develop naturally. Lastly, the research showed that students who enrolled in Piano Education were influenced in such a way that they intentionally chose to participate in musically related extracurricular activities. If a student enrolls in Piano Education long enough, they participate in all types of music-related activities more often. Therefore, enrolling in Piano Education plays an important role in not just learning more about music, but also in improving a person as a whole. All students who take Piano Education tend to have a more affirmative mentality, develop positive emotions, and build a stronger sense of character through their understanding of music.
