Abstract

Today, humans live as society demands, covering up their personal views. According to psychologist Carl Gustaf Jung, the use of appropriate personas helps a smooth social life, but excessive use of personas can lead to a serious loss of me when social status is lost, it loses a real or a serious mental illness They said they could get lazy. The purpose of this study is to consider Jung's Persona concept and characteristics and to present new designs through the fusion of aesthetic values and concepts. The methods of this study looked at the theoretical background of Jung's persona and body painting, referring to the national literature, prior studies, academic journals, and internet materials. The results of this thesis are as follows. Persona characteristics are composed of the suppression of emotion, hypocrisy, pleasure, and multiple personalies, which are based on prior research. Work I and Ⅱ show the suppression. Work III uses the characteristics of hypocrisy. Work Ⅳ uses the characteristics of pleasure. Work V includes 5 pieces of body paintings using the characteristics of multiple personalities: 3 pieces of work for the upper body and 2 pieces for the whole body painting. Through the theoretical examination of Jung's Persona, I was able to see how much pressure and stress modern people have and think about myself once more. Also, by using the concept and characteristics of Persona in body art called body painting, creative design was newly expressed. In the future body painting research, we hope that the body painting work will be actively studied not only by the concept of the personality of Jung, but also by considering the definition of various personas.
