축제이미지의 조형연구

Abstract

산업화하고 도시화된 현대사회에서 인간은 넘쳐나는 문명의 혜택을 받고 있다. 이윤의 극대화와 경제적 효율성을 추구하며 반복적인 하루하루를 살아가는 것이 현대인의 일상이라 할 수 있겠다. 이러한 일상 속에서 인간은 끊임없이 유토피아를 동경한다. 그 과정에서 축제라고 하는 형태의 의식 속에 참여하면서 자신의 생존의미를 확인하고 싶어 한다. 즉 자신의 정체성을 추구하고자 하는 것이 모든 인간의 고차원적 욕구라 할 수 있고, 그것을 가능하게 해주는 기본적인 토대 중의 하나가 바로 문화정체성의 확인이라고 볼 수 있을 것이다. 축제 속에는 모든 예술이 망라되어 있다. 모든 예술이 미분화 상태로 엮여져 있는 종합예술의 성격을 지닌 것이 축제이다. 축제의 원래 의미 속에는 종교성을 포함한다. 그래서 축제는 예술적 요소가 포함된 제의를 일컫는다. 축제는 애초 성스러운 종교적 제의에서 출발했으나 유희성을 강하게 지니게 되어 오늘날에는 종교적인 신성성이 거의 퇴색되었다. 현재의 축제는 제의가 아닌 잔치의 의미를 가지고 있다. 여러 종류의 축제가 보편화되면서 예전보다 접하기 쉬운 형태로 변화하고 있다. 축제일에는 여러 사람들이 모여서 축제를 즐기며 욕구와 바램을 충족시키고, 함께 참여함으로써 산업화하고 도시화한 사회 속에서 개인화된 현대인에게 동질성을 갖게 한다. 본 연구는 축제를 구성하고 있는 요소들을 쓰임이 있는 테이블웨어(tableware)로 조형화 하고자 하였으며, 은을 주 재료로 사용하여 축제의 화려한 분위기를 표현하고자 하였다. 규격화되고 반복되는 현대인의 일상에서 축제에 가지 않더라도 때로는 축제의 즐거운 분위기를 느끼고 여유로운 마음을 가질 수 있길 바라는 마음으로 작품을 제작하였다.|In industrialized and urbanized modern society, man has been benefited by civilization. The lives of modern people are often characterized by repetition, and for pursuing profits and economic efficiency. In this modern life, man constantly yearns for utopia, and he wants to make sure the he understands the meaning of life, often by taking part in formal ceremonies, such as festivals. In other words, seeking his identity is one of the great desires of man, and one of the basic foundations of life. This need helps to fulfill the confirmation of his cultural identity. Festivals often involve various arts. So it is characterized as a Synthetic art occasionally, which is constituted of the features of all of the arts. The basic meaning of festivals generally involves expressions of religious faith. Normally, they are regarded as rituals, which include elements of the arts. Although festivals are often derived from rituals, religious sanctity, as a part of festivals has nearly vanished at present because they seem to have evolved into strictly amusing events. These days, various festivals, which are valued for their amusement value, have been universalized, so that modern people can partake in them. They enjoy the festivals and fulfill their desires and wishes through them. Furthermore, individuals can take the part in the festivals so that they can discover their sense of collective identity in modern society. In this study, I tried to form the elements of the festival into useful tableware, and tried to describe the splendid atmosphere of festivals with silver as a main material. I created these works with a wish that modern people can enjoy the splendid atmosphere of the festivals, and have an expanded feeling through the works, though they do not really join in the festivals.
