창의·인성 수업모형을 기초로 한 수학과 자유학기제 교수-학습 자료 개발

Abstract

현대사회에서는 단순한 지식습득이 아닌 미래사회의 변화에 능동적으로 대처할 수 있는 인재를 양성할 수 있는 교육이 강조되고 있다. 우리나라도 이러한 변화에 발맞춰 지식 중심의 교육에서 학습자 중심 교육으로 변화하고 학생 참여형 수업을 운영하기 위해 협동학습, 융합수업, 프로젝트수업, 배움중심 수업, 플립러닝 등 다양한 수업방법을 시도하고 있다. 이러한 노력의 일환으로 현 정부는 ‘자유학기제’ 추진을 공약하고 국정과제로 채택하였다(교육부, 2015a). 자유학기제를 통해 전반적인 학교 교육을 변화시키기 위해서는 학생 참여형 수업이 내실 있게 운영되어야 한다. 이를 위해서는 한 학기동안 연계하여 진행할 수 있는 다양한 교수-학습 자료의 지원이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 자유학기에서 강조하고 있는 미래 핵심역량의 함양을 도울 수 있는 ‘창의·인성 수업모형(권오남 외, 2010)’을 기초로 하여 대부분의 중학교에서 자유학기제를 실시하는 1학년 2학기 수학과 자유학기 수업에서 활용할 수 있는 교수-학습 자료를 개발하였다. 중학교 1학년 2학기 교육과정인 통계, 기본도형, 평면도형, 입체도형 등 네 단원에서 실생활 연계, 체험중심의 주제를 선정하여 각각 2개씩 총 8개의 교수-학습 자료를 개발하였다. 통계 단원에서는 학교폭력 실태분석과 예방 및 대처 방안 찾기(자료해석과 표현 모형)와 소규모창업 계획하기(의사결정 모형)를 개발하였고 기본도형 단원에서는 스트링아트 만들기(규칙성탐구 모형)와 점, 선, 면 표현하기(개념정의 모형)를 개발하였다. 평면도형 단원에서는 테셀레이션 만들기(규칙성탐구 모형)과 인디언텐트 만들기(관계탐구 모형)를 개발하였고 입체도형 단원에서는 세팍타크로공 만들기(직관계발 모형)과 음료수병 디자인(현상탐구 모형)을 개발하였다. 개발된 교수-학습 자료는 학생들이 수학적 과정을 경험할 수 있도록 구성되어 있으며, 실생활 연계 내용으로 이루어져 학생들이 수학의 유용성과 필요성을 느낄 수 있도록 돕는다. 또한 수업의 운영을 모둠활동을 중심으로 구성하여 토론하고 협력하는 과정을 통해 학생들의 인성 및 사회성 함양을 도울 수 있을 것이라 생각된다. 본 연구에서는 창의성과 인성의 함양을 도울 수 있는 수업모형을 기초로 교수-학습 자료를 개발하였으나 좀 더 다양한 교수-학습 자료의 개발이 필요하다. 지속적인 교수-학습 자료의 지원을 통해 자유학기제가 안정적으로 정착하고 교육의 전반적인 변화를 견인하기를 기대한다.|It is emphasized that education not only to acquire knowledge but also to cultivate human resources capable of actively coping with changes in future society. To step along with such changes, Korea has changed from knowledge-based education to learner-centered education and has tried various teaching methods such as cooperative learning, convergence learning, project learning, learning-centered class, and flip learning. As part of this effort, the government pledged to promote the "free learning semester" and adopted it as a national task(Ministry of Education, 2015). In order to change the overall school education through the free learning semester, the student participation class should be operated in good faith. In order to do this, it is necessary to support various teaching-learning materials that can be linked to one semester. Therefore, this study has developed teaching-learning materials that can be utilized in free learning semester based on the 'creativity & character education model(Kwon Oh Nam et al., 2010)' which can help cultivate future core competencies emphasized in the free learning semester. Two subjects were selected which is related to the real life and experience in each units of the first semester of middle school curriculum. A total of eight teaching-learning materials were developed in the four units such as statistics, basic figure, plane figure, and solid figure. In statistics unit, analysis of the actual situation of school violence and looking for its prevention and countermeasures(data interpretation and expression model) and planning small business(decision making model) were developed. In basic figure unit, making string art (regularity investigation model) and dot, line, plane expression(concept definition model) were developed. In plane figure unit, making tessellation(regularity investigation model) and making indian tent(relationship investigation model) were developed. In solid figure unit, making sepaktakraw ball(intuition development model) and drink bottle design(phenomenon research model) were developed. The developed teaching-learning materials in free learning semester are composed to help students experience mathematical process. As it is related to real life, it helps students to feel usefulness and necessity of mathematics. Also, the class is composed of group activity which helps students to foster character and sociality in the process of debate and cooperation. This study developed a teaching-learning materials based on education model helpful to fostering creativity and character, but it is necessary to develop more diverse teaching-learning materials. Through the support of ongoing teaching-learning materials, free semester will stabilize and lead to the overall change in education.
