중학교 시조 학습을 위한 가창지도방안

Abstract

시조(時調)는 전통성악의 한 장르로 문학적인 요소와 음악적인 가치를 동시에 지닌 우리나라 고유의 문화유산이다. 이렇듯 우리민족 고유의 마음과 뜻을 절제된 형식 속에 담아 내려온 시조는 현대를 살아가는 우리의 정서에 깊은 영향을 주어 오늘날 학교교육에서 반드시 다루어져야 할 중요한 요소이다. 이처럼 시조는 다양하고 독특한 개성을 지니고 있음에도 불구하고, 교과서에는 주로 잘 알려진 민요와 판소리 위주의 제재곡으로만 구성되어 있어 다양한 우리의 전통성악곡을 알리는 데에는 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 시조의 가창활동을 전개하여 보다 구체적이고 능동적인 음악적 접근이 이루어지게 함으로써 학생들의 시조창 학습 능력을 신장시키는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 시조창을 단계적으로 지도할 수 있는 방안을 제시하여 시조의 가창지도안을 보기로 제시하였다. 가창의 지도적 단계에서는 기초 지도, 중점 지도의 단계를 나누어 설정하였다. 기초 지도에서는 자세와 호흡, 발음과 발성법의 기초를 다져 정간악보를 보며 노래할 수 있도록 하였으며, 중점 지도에서는 시조의 연주부호와 시김새표현을 익히고 장단을 치며 노래할 수 있도록 구성하였다. 지도의 실제에서는 중학교 7학년 교과단원에서 중점적으로 다루어진 곡인평시조 <동창이>를 비롯하여 남창지름시조 <바람아>와 여창지름시조 <달밝고>를 제시하였다. 전통음악 교육에 대한 관심이 높아져가고 교육과정에서 전통음악 교육을 강조하고 있는 현 시점에서 시조의 교육이 활발하게 이루어진다면 학생들의 다양하고 균형 있는 음악적 성장에 도움이 될 것이다. 따라서 이 연구가 학생들에게 우리음악의 이해를 돕고 좀 더 쉽고 친근하게 다가갈 수 있도록 부족하나마 일조하기를 바란다.|Sijo, a genre of traditional vocal music, is Korea's own cultural heritage that contains both literary factors and musical values. Likewise, Sijo has expressed Korean people's mind and desire in a concise form, exerting a great influence on the sentiments of Korean people today. Therefore, it constitutes an important factor that must be covered in school education today. However, in spite of Sijo's diverse and unique characteristics, songs included in textbooks are mostly composed of well known folk songs and Pansori works, thus failing to offer enough opportunities for students to learn various pieces of Korean traditional vocal music Therefore, this study aimed at improving students' ability to sing Sijo songs by carrying out singing activities of Sijo songs which lead students to approach the music more specifically and actively. To this end, the study presented a plan to instruct singing Sijo songs step by step, offering an example of instruction plan for singing Sijo songs. The instruction step for singing Sijo songs were divided into two parts: basic instruction and focused instruction. Basic instruction covered attitudes, breathing, pronunciation and a method of voice production, helping students to develop an ability to read and sing musical scores. Focused instruction was composed of contents that helped students to learn the musical signs and ornamenting system called shigimsae of Sijo and to sing Sijo songs with Jangdan. In the actual instruction, instruction cases were presented that allowed students to sing the first part of a sijo song after listening to it, as the aim of the instruction was not to lead students to develop a professional skill to sing Sijo songs. <Dongchangi>, the standard Sijo Song covered importantly in the curriculum for 7th graders, was contained in a textbook to help students have the overall feeling of Sijo after learning the first, middle and last part of the song. Other Sijo songs presented in textbooks included <Barama>, a Jireum Sijo song sung by a man, <Dalbalggo>, a Jireum Sijo song sung by a man. If the education of Sijo is carried out actively at a time when the education of traditional music draws increasing attention and is being emphasized in curriculum, it will help students to achieve various and balanced music growth. Therefore, it is hoped that this study will help students to understand and become familiar with Korean traditional music.
