주변환경과 삶속에 관련된 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 보편적 주거지인 ‘아파트’를 주제로 한 개인전을 대상으로 제작 배경과 이론적 근거, 작품 설명을 통해 현대 회화의 모습을 찾고자신의 작품이 나아갈 방향을 모색해 본다. 시간은 항상 변화를 만드는데 이런 변화 속에서 사람들의 사고와 필요요소는 항상 변화한다. 본래 회화는 평면 공간 위에 형태, 색채 등의 조형요소로서 느낌이나 생각을 표현하는 조형예술, 즉 그림을 말하는데, 현대에 와서는 그림만을 말하지 않는다. 미술의 형태를 변화시키기 보다는 미술에 대한 개념 자체에 변화를 주어 작가의 생각을 표현함에 어떠한 제약도 주지 않는다. 즉, 시대적 배경, 제작과정, 의도 등 기존에 억압받던 굴레를 벗고 작가의 생각을 전달하거나, 사람들로 하여금 무언가를 한번 생각하게 만드는 촉매제 역할을 하면서 그 형식은 새로운 것을 찾아간다. 따라서 현대미술은 그것이 사람들에게 어떤 의미를 준다면 그것이 자체가 의미 있는 것이다. 이는 작품을 보는 방법과 제작방법을 무한히 자유롭게 해주는 계기로 작가들은 이 새로운 개념을 찾아가기 위해 노력한다. 이런 맥락에서, 즐비해 있는 아파트들을 조형요소로 사용함은 주제에 대한 의미를 다시 생각해 볼 수 있는 계기를 만들어줌으로서 작품표현 형식에 큰 비중을 두던 작품에서 벗어나 표현 자체에 의미를 두고, 주위와 자신과의 사이에서 어느 정도의 의미 전달이 되는지와, 그 과정에서 얻은 개개인의 새로운 느낌에 중점을 두어, 아파트의 사실적인 표현방법에 중점을 두기 보다는 아파트 자체의 느낌 표현에 중심을 두어 표현하였다. 이런 기존에 얽매였던 의미전달 과정을 단순화해 작품에 한걸음 다가갈 수 있는 방법을 알아보고, 이는 주위의 시선을 의식하지 않고 표현의 자유를 찾을 수 있는 방법을 아파트란 소재를 통해 찾았다. 이런 주변 환경의 인식과정에서 작품으로 표현하는 방법을 찾아 자신의 작품과 연결시켜 앞으로 나아갈 방향을 본 논문을 통해 모색해 보고자 한다.|There are various motivations and reasons for works. These motivations and reasons make a new work of art with a filter of artists subjective mind. It is important that we appreciate the works of apartments with our own views to feel various impressions in one work, and it is also important that an artist should concentrate only on his work to ignore views of others and find what he really wants to express. This process resulted from many experiments. As ambiguous as the recent arts are, my interpretation has been ambiguous until I reach the works of apartments. The more I drew apartments, the stronger my intention attached to apartments, and while I was repeating that, I found I could not avoid the views of others. Although the subject matter of surroundings was regarded as trifling ones, the difficulty grew bigger during my work. Even insignificant things can show profound meanings in themselves if looked deeply, and have multiple features when they are fused with the situation of art works. According to the change of time and society, the number of art works keeps increasing and the intelligence of people also grows up. It has caused too many criteria of appreciation, and may have restricted or dominated the region of thoughts of artists and populace. An art work means literally an expression of artists thoughts, and therefore, individual thoughts can be infinite and different from others, but some people insist on their own views only and make more criteria only for self-rationalization trying to extort obedience. Thus, the society tends to make extra criteria and judge with such criteria. However, there are certain reasons for artists to make works, and other various motivations and intentions merge into reasons to make one art work. This complex thing can be judged only by the artists own thought and intention. If other criteria are added to it from surroundings, that could be only restrictions for an art work. Many artists including myself are already used to such criteria through several media, and that does not result from others, but themselves. I think such restrictions are the most critical thing to avoid and try to find myself overcoming the circumstances with works about the subject of apartments. This attempt is not limited to works, but also applicable to my whole life connecting with my works. I have faced on the works looking for my own image, but have found that I can not free myself perfectly from the surroundings. Consequently, in selection of subject, making process, and other comprehensive matters, I attach the greatest importance to my own view and leave others views as they are. With this view, I can study of finding the direction and purpose of art works in the reality.
