전통 문양을 활용한 미술 실기 지도

Abstract

본 연구는 전통 문양을 주제로 활용하여 초등학교 미술 교육에 도입하기 위해 전통 문양을 고찰하고 학습 지도안을 제시한 것이다. 세계화 정보화에 의해 격변하고 있는 이 시대에 전통 문화의 우수성과 정통성을 알고 이를 바탕으로 우리 전통 미술을 바르게 이해하고 우리의 조형 의식을 회복하여 민족 정체감을 확립하고 미래 지향적인 인간상을 육성하기 위해 전통 미술 작품을 현장에 활용함으로써 전통문양이 담고 있는 의미를 현대 디자인에 표현, 응용함이 중요한 의미를 갖게 하도록 하였다. 초등학교 학생들로 하여금 우리의 전통 문양을 통해 우리의 것에 대한 관심과 흥미를 가지고 창의적인 조형 활동을 할 수 있으며 한국 전통을 재발견시키고자 본 연구를 하게 되었다. 서론에서는 이러한 연구 목적과 달성하기 위한 방법을 제시하였고, 본론에서는 전통 문양의 개념과 종류와 상징적 의미에 대한 고찰을 통하여 전통 문양 감상, 전통 문양 변형, 문양 창작, 생활 용품 구상을 제재로 한 전통문양을 활용한 미술 실기 지도 방안을 연구하였다. 결론에서는 이러한 활동을 거쳐 지도한 결과 학생들이 전통 문양이 갖는 상징성과 의미를 이해하고 한국적인 미를 느낄 수 있었으며 문양을 직접 창작해 봄으로써 현대 자신의 삶에서 전통 문양을 응용해보는 디자인 능력과 창의성이 향상될 수 있었다. 이 연구에서 제시하는 수업 지도안이 실제 수업에서 이루어질 때 학생들에게 우리나라의 전통 문양을 이해하고 전통 미술에 자부심을 가질 수 있는 계기가 되고자 한다.|The purpose of this paper is to propose a new tutorial approach in elementary art education by examining Korean traditional motifs and their applications to art education. In the era of rapid global development and information overflow, it seems it is necessary to educate young students to understand and appreciate the value and legacy of traditional culture, and consequently to help them think progressively for the future. In this paper, the author has tried to evoke the awareness of the excellence of Korean traditional culture and its legacy among young students and eventually to help them to appreciate the value of the traditional culture through the introduction of traditional Korean motifs in elementary art courses. Through this research, it is purposed for elementary school students to find interests in traditional art and apply this interests in creative activities and eventually to help the young students re-discover the much-ignored traditional culture. In the introduction, the purpose of this research was mentioned, followed by the suggestions of research methods to achieve this purpose (I suggest to mention what kind of research method has been used). Then, the concept, various types of traditional Korean motifs and their symbolic meanings were introduced to draw a empirical teaching approach through the uses of apprehension, modifications, motif creations, and the suggestion of daily applications of these traditional motifs in elementary art education. In the conclusion, it was found that the students who were exposed to the suggested teaching approach showed the heightened understanding of the symbolic meaning as well as the authentic cultural beauty of the introduced traditional motifs. In addition, through the hands-on experience in motif creation, the participating students showed some level of improvement in creativity and in real-life application of the traditional motifs. As suggested in the purpose of this research, this research wishes to contribute to the correct understanding of the values of traditional Korean motifs among young students and to help them to appreciate the traditional culture and artifacts.
