전시 The Flat의 조형성 연구

Abstract

예술행위는 본질적으로 다양한 표현의 관점과 목적을 내포한다. 종교적인 믿음이나 염원의 표출, 철학적 접근, 또는 감상자와의 교감을 매개로 하는 의사소통적 접근에 이르기까지 다양한 창작 활동이 행해지고 있다. 이러한 범주의 하나로 본인 작품의 모티브(motive)가 되는 것은 작가 본인의 내면에 잠재된 기억이다. 사회의 보이지 않는 틀에 갇혀 생활하면서도 그것을 지각(知覺)하지 못한 채 살아가는 인간의 모습을 이분법적인 논리를 최대한 배제하고 다양한 측면에서 표현하고자 한다. 예를 들면, 주변에서 흔히 보는 일상적인 사건과 그와 연관된 인물들 사이에서 볼 수 있는 심리적 충돌, 혹은 제3자의 인물이 그 사건을 바라본 전혀 다른 관점 등은 쉽게 인지해 낼 수는 없지만 엄연히 존재하는 것들이다. 전시 ‘The Flat' 에서는 이렇게 존재하고 있지만 표면적으로 드러나지 않는, 현대 사회 속에서 도구로 전락하여 버린 현대인의 자아정체성을 형상화함과 더불어 기존의 틀에 묶여 진부한 일상만을 의미 없이 되풀이하는 인간모습에 대해 조명해 보았다. 본 논문에서는 현대인의 자화상을 상징적으로 표현한 본인의 작품에 대해서 다음과 같이 3장으로 구성하여 분석해 보고자 한다. 제1장 서론에서는 단어 ‘Flat'의 확장된 의미를 주제로 표현했던 ’The Flat'전의 조형성에 대한 연구 목적과 방법을 제시하였다. 제2장 본론에서는 전시 ‘The Flat'에 관한 주제 설정의 배경과 의미들을 짚어보고 표현방법 및 작품에 대해 서술하였다. 제3장 결론에서는 본 논문을 정리하고 향후 본인의 작업 방향과 더 연구해야할 과제를 서술하였다.|Artistic performances in substance involve a variety of viewpoints and goals of expression. There are many creative activities performed, including faith and wish, philosophical approaches, and communicative approaches through the medium of sympathy with an appreciator. What is the motive of works as one of these categories is artists' own memory underlying their mind. They intend to express human life with failure to perceive their living confined to an invisible social convention in many aspects by excluding dichotomy to the utmost. For example, psychological conflicts between daily cases often seen around us and people associated with them and third parties' opposite viewpoints on them are not easily perceived but exist undeniably. My first private exhibition for a master's degree, The Flat, embodied self-identity of modern people who became a tool in the modern society, which exists but fails to be exposed, and suggested human life with meaningless repetition of commonplace routines confined to the existing convention. This study intends to analyze my works, which symbolize self-portraits of modern people, in three chapters as follows: Chapter 1, Introduction, presents goals and methods of this study on the formative nature in The Flat, which is an exhibition with the theme of meanings of 'Flat.' Chapter 2, Main Subject, suggests backgrounds and meanings of the theme of The Flat and explains expressions and works. Chapter 3, Conclusion, summarizes this study and explains future courses of my works and further studies.
