유아의 음악적 태도와 정서지능간의 관계

Abstract

논 문 개 요

본 연구의 목적은 유아의 음악적 태도와 정서지능은 가정의 음악환경과 개인변인에 따라 어떤 차이가 있는지를 살펴보고 유아의 음악적 태도가 정서지능에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 있다. 이를 위해 설정된 연구 문제는 다음과 같다.

1) 유아의 음악적 태도와 정서지능은 부모와 유아의 개인 변인에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는가? 2) 유아의 음악적 태도와 정서지능은 가정의 음악적 환경에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는가? 3) 유아의 음악적 태도와 정서지능 간에는 어떠한 관계가 있는가?

본 연구는 서울, 경기에 소재한 유아교육기관(사립유치원, 국공립어린이집, 민간어린이집)에 다니고 있는 남, 여 유아 155명과 그들의 부모를 대상으로 하였다. 유아가정의 일반적인 특성과 가정의 음악적 환경에 대한 설문은 유아의 부모가 평정하도록 각 가정으로 배부하였고, 가정으로 부터 회신된 유아에 한해서 담임교사가 개별 유아를 관찰하여 음악적 태도와 정서지능을 평정하였다. 조사기간은 2013년 8월 6일부터 2013년 9월 16일 까지 이며, 이 기간 동안 200부의 설문지를 가정으로 배부하였고, 이 중 회수된 161부의 설문지 중 응답내용이 불성실한 설문지 6부를 제외한 155부를 본 연구에 사용하였다. 본 연구에서의 연구도구는 유아의 음악적 태도를 측정하기 위하여 정애경(2003)이 제작하고 이숙희(2005)가 수정한 도구를 사용하였고 유아의 정서지능도구는 Mayer와 Salovey(1996)가 제안한 정서지능 모형을 토대로 이병래(1997)가 제작한 교사용 정서지능 체크리스트를 사용하였다. 가정의 음악적 환경을 알아보기 위해서 유애경(1985)이 개발하고 이영희(2004), 정혜선, 김수영(2008)등이 사용한 도구를 본 연구에 맞게 수정하여 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 연구문제에 따라 빈도와 백분율, 평균과 표준편차, t 검증과 일원변량분석, 사후 검증, 상관관계 및 회귀분석을 실시하였다.

본 연구를 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 배경변인에 따른 유아의 음악적 태도와 정서지능의 차이를 분석한 결과, 음악적 태도의 점수는 어머니의 학력이 높을수록, 정서지능 점수는 어머니와 아버지의 학력이 높을수록 높은 것으로 나타났다. 유아의 배경변인에 따른 차이를 알아본 결과, 정서지능의 하위변인은 타인조절에서만 출생순위에 따른 차이가 나타났을 뿐, 성별에 따른 차이는 나타나지 않았으며 음악적 태도는 성별, 출생순위 모두에서 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 가정의 음악적 환경에 따른 유아의 음악적 태도와 정서지능의 차이를 알아본 결과, 물리적 환경에 따라 유아의 정서지능 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 유아의 음악적 태도에서는 가정의 음악적 환경에 따른 차이를 보이지 않았다. 셋째, 유아의 음악적 태도와 정서지능 간의 관계를 분석해 본 결과, 음악적 태도와 정서지능 간에는 정적으로 유의미한 상관관계를 보여 음악적 태도가 높을수록 정서지능도 높다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 음악적 태도와 정서지능의 하위변인인 자기인식표현 능력, 자기조절 능력, 타인인식 능력, 타인조절 능력 간에서 정적으로 유의미한 상관관계를 보였다.|ABSTRACT

This study aims to examine the difference between the children`s musical attitudes and emotional intelligence by the musical environment of family and individual variables, and to comprehend the effects of the children`s musical attitudes on the emotional intelligence. The problems of research set for this is as follows.

1) Is there any difference between the children`s musical attitudes and emotional intelligence by the parents and children`s individual variables? 2) Is there any difference between the children`s musical attitudes and emotional intelligence by the musical environment of family? 3) Is there any relations between the children`s musical attitudes and emotional intelligence?

This study was based on 155 male, female children belonging the children education institute(Private kindergartens, national and public nursery, private day care) in Seoul and Gyeonggi and their parents. The survey about the general characteristics of the children’s home and the musical environment of family was distributed to each home for the children`s parents can handle it, and the classroom teachers treated the musical attitudes and emotional intelligence by observing the individual infant only who was collected from home. The study period was from August 6, 2013 until 16 September 2013, and the 200 questionnaires were distributed to home during this period, and 155 questionnaires except 6 questionnaires with undependable responses among the collected 161 questionnaires were used for this study. About the research tools in this study, the tool which was produced by Jeong, Ae-Kyoung(2003) and modified by Lee, Sook-Hee(2005) was used for measuring the children`s musical attitudes, and as the children`s emotional intelligence tools, the emotional intelligence check list for the teachers which was produced by Lee, Byoung-Rae(1997) was used based on the emotional intelligence model which was suggested by Mayer and Salovey(1996). In order to examine the musical environment of family, the tool which was produced by Yu, Ae-Kyoung(1985) and was used by Lee, Young-Hee(2004), Jeong, Hae-Seon, Kim, Soo-Young(2008) was used after being modified for this study. The data collected was used for the frequency and percentage, the mean and standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, post-verification, correlation and regression analysis by the research questions.

The results obtained through this study are as follows. First, in the result of analysis on the difference between the children`s musical attitudes and emotional intelligence by the parents' background variables, the higher the mother’s educational background, the higher score of musical attitudes were, and the higher the mother's and father's educational background, the higher the score of emotional intelligence was. In the result of analysis on the difference by the children`s background variables, there was the difference of the sub-variables of the emotional intelligence by the birth order only from the other-control, there was no difference by the gender, and there was no difference of the musical attitudes between the gender, birth order. Second, in the result of analysis on the difference between the children`s musical attitudes and emotional intelligence by the musical environment of family, there was difference of the children`s emotional intelligence by the physical environment. But there was no difference of the children`s musical attitudes by the musical environment of family. Third, in the result of analysis on the relationship between the children`s musical attitudes and emotional intelligence, there was the positive significant correlation between the musical attitudes and the emotional intelligence, so it can be seen that the higher the musical attitudes, the higher the emotional intelligence was. In addition, there was the positive significant correlation between the self-recognition, self-expression ability, self-control ability, other-recognition ability, other-control ability as the sub-variables of the musical attitudes and the emotional intelligence.
