類似聯想을 통한 陶磁造形 硏究

Abstract

우리가 살아가는데 있어서 기억능력은 간과할 수 없는 인간의 특성 중 하나이고 광범위한 정신활동의 근본이다. 그러나 그 능력은 제한된 한계를 가지며 급기야 시간의 흐름과 함께 과거기억을 망각에 이르게 한다. 보통 망각되어진 기억은 사라진 것이 아니라 잠재된 것으로 유사연상과정을 통해 다시 재생되어진다. 이는 어떠한 단어를 듣거나 사물을 볼 때 그것과 비슷한 다른 물체나 관련된 경험, 과거의 추억 등이 머릿속에 떠오르는 것과 그에 동요되는 심리적 변화까지를 말하며, 여기서 되살아난 감정들은 그 때의 정서를 느끼게 할 뿐 아니라 새로운 의미를 더하여 더욱 풍부해지기도 한다. 본 연구는 유사연상으로 인한 과거 기억의 환기를 통해 현대인들의 정신적 상처를 치유하고, 동시에 정체성 확립에 도움을 주고자 하였다. 또한 추억이 깃든 시간에 비추어 현재를 바라봄으로써 잠시나마 마음의 안위와 평정심을 느끼게 하고자 하였다. 이에 연구에 도입된 소재들은 과거로의 시간을 머금은 나뭇가지, 돌 등의 자연물과 과거로부터 사라져 가는 고무신, 농약통 등이 선택되어졌다. 구성상의 물질적 소재들은 떨어져 있을 때는 창고의 뒤죽박죽된 물건들처럼 무의미하지만, 상징과 비유에 의한 은유적 표현을 함으로써 연상을 가능케 하는 기억의 매개체로 재해석되었다. 제작방법으로는 조화로운 조형성을 탐구할 수 있는 개체결합작업을 하였다. 개체와 개체간의 접목으로 인해 삽입되어진 부분은 보는 이에게 호기심과 흥미를 유발하며 사고의 즐거움을 줌과 동시에 관념적 사유의 시간을 갖게 하였다. 태토로는 자기질점토를 선택하였고, 시유는 형태미를 더욱 부각시키는 단순 명료한 느낌의 백색계통유약을 분무시유하거나 태토 본연의 발색을 이끌기 위해 시유하지 않고도 표현하였다. 소성은 전기가마를 이용하여 1차 소성 900℃, 2차 소성 1250℃로 산화소성하였다. 본 연구로 인한 과거기억의 되새김질이 현대인의 심리적 상처를 치유하고 삶에 활력을 되찾아주며, 일상에서 의식하지 못하고 그냥 지나치는 사물에 대해 새롭고 놀라운 시선을 가지게 하였으면 하는 바람이다.|For all of us, the ability to remember things we did is one of the most important characteristics of human beings, which can not ever be overlooked or ignored. Our ability to remember is the basis for the immense mental activities that we do in our everyday life. Unfortunately, our ability to memorize has a limitation, so our memories about the past events will eventually disappear as the time elapses. Usually, forgotten memories do not disappear completely. Rather, they become a latent memory that may be retrieved by a process of reminiscence. For example, a person, observing a word or an object, might relate them to a set of memories and experiences that he or she previously had. Furthermore, the person might even experience some emotional changes during the observation. These emotional changes help the person to feel those forgotten emotions that he or she had previously and sometimes even help the person to produce new emotions about the word or the object. As a result, the person's memory about the word or the object will be enriched by the new emotions. By awakening their previous memories by association through similarity, the experiment conducted in this paper will provide a way to relieve metal traumas that the many modern people are suffering these days. At the same time, this paper will try to help those people to reestablish their self identity. Finally, this paper will reflect their current life to their happy memories, giving their mind the comfort and the security. The experimental objects used in this paper have a shape of natural objects such as a branch of tree and a stone as well as obsolete objects such as rubber shoes and a old case for agrichemical. These objects are chosen because they may conduct as a medium that can recall people's previous memories. At the first glance, each experimental object alone seems irrelevant to the purpose of the experiment that this paper will describe. However, with a metaphorical description by symbolization and comparison, those objects, as a group, can be re-defined as a medium to recall people's previous memories. The experimental objects will be made by forming each individual object and put them together. The joints between each objects will stimulate the observer’s curiosity and interest, encouraging them to think freely and to have fun. The experimental objects will be formed by clay and painted by a white glaze. The white color was chosen to highlight the shape of the experimental objects. After forming is completed, the clay will be baked in an electrical kiln twice. I sincerely hope that the experiment described in this paper will help many people to mitigate their suffering from trauma. In addition, I also hope them to build a ability to pay attention to those objects they see in their ordinary life.
