유기적 형태와 기하학적 구조의 결합 표현 연구 : 본인의 작품을 중심으로

Abstract

본 ?紫?은 2003년부터 2004년 사이에 제작된 본인의 작품을 중심으로 연구 서술한 것이다. 현재의 작품에 기반을 두었던, 이전 작업에서는 유기적 형태와 종이라는 재료에서 큰 매력을 느꼈고, 중첩된 이미지와 반복의 성향은 처음 비구상 회화를 시작하면서부터 현재의 작업 진행에 있어서 주를 이루게 되었다. 한지를 찢거나 오려 붙이는 유기적인 작업을 추구했던 작업 성향에서 기하학적 구조의 도입이 이루어진 것은 본인이 일상생활에서 느꼈던 '이질적 심리 현상'과 '대립하고 있으나 공존하고 있는 두 개의 존재' 들에 대한 물음이 작품의 동기가 되어 반영한 것이다. 우리의 삶은 대립하고 있으나 공존의 모습을 가지고 있다. 이것은 동양철학에 나오는 음양론(陰陽論)이 내포하고 있는 의미와 일맥상통하며, 음양오행(陰陽五行)은 모든 현상과 형상들 즉, 우주를 음과 양의 결합으로 보았다. 따라서 양을 상징하는 부분에는 부드러운 곡선으로 이루어진 유기적 형태를, 음을 상징하는 부분에는 딱딱한 직선의 기하학적 구조를 도입시켜 한 화면에 결합을 시도하였다. 유기적 형태에 도입된 이미지는 자연을 대상으로 하여 단순화와 중첩의 과정을 거쳐 추출되어진 형상을 작품에 도입시켰고, 기하학적 구조는 화면 내에서의 총체적 조직을 강조하기 위한 선적인 요소로 표현 하였다. 본인 작업에 있어 유기적 형태가 내포하고 있는 의미는 감성, 희망, 긍정, 부드러움과 따뜻함을 지닌 양의 부분을 말하며, 기하학적 구조는 이성, 좌절, 부정, 차갑고 딱딱한 성질을 가진 음적인 면을 말한다. 이러한 이중적 요소의 결합은 상호보완적인 융화를 통해 완성되어지는 인간의 모습이자, 생성과 소멸을 반복하는 자연의 모습을 포괄적으로 담고 있다. 완성형으로서의 인간의 모습은 긍정과 부정, 희망과 좌절, 이성과 감성 등의 두 가지 성향을 모두 가지고 있으며, 자연은 생성과 소멸을 반복하며 생명력을 발산하기 때문이다. 또한 작품제작에 있어 대비는 형태뿐만 아니라 색채, 질감 등의 모든 조형요소에 걸쳐 표현되어진다. 색채 표현에 있어서는 무채색과 유채색, 밝음과 어둠 등의 반대성향의 색채가 한쪽 면이 다른 쪽 면에 영향을 주어 그들 사이의 대조를 한층 강화시키는 결과를 낳았다. 또한 하드 보드지를 칼로 오려내는 방식은 요철 효과로 인해 음양의 구조를 강조해 주었으며, 종이의 표면 처리에 사용한 기법을 달리하여 거침과 부드러움, 광택과 무광의 대비되는 질감을 표?置臼눼?. 본인은 작업을 통하여 본인이 느꼈었던 감정 상태를 되짚어 보는 계기로 삼았으며, 반복되는 선 긋기와 문양을 오려내는 작업에서 무의식 속에 잠재된 본인의 성향을 잠재울 수 있었다. 작업의 원인이 되었던 삶의 체험 속에 나타났던 감정의 이미지를 통해 자신의 정서를 살피고 다스리는 계기를 마련했으며, 본 논문을 계기로 이전 작업의 성향을 포괄적으로 되짚어 봄으로써 조금 더 깊은 사고를 가지고 작업에 임할 것이다.|This following research paper is written and studied based on my own piece of work, which is produced from year of 2003 till 2004. I was very attracted and appealed in Organic form and papers which are my main resources and requirements to produce my works. Through these various experiences, I was able to understand the physical characters of different kinds of "papers"(working resource). Also, while I was studying on my works, the repeated images, and inclination was expressed from my works. Heterogeneous mental phenomenon has occurred in my emotional senses as I live through normal troubles around me. Moreover, confusion and anxiety is occurred by mental conflicts that cannot be controlled at each different moment. The primary factor of related and opposite human's two different inclinations such as affirmation and denial, hope and frustration, sensibility and rationality is recognized in my work by combining two opposite principles the are "Yin"(negative principle in nature), and "Yang"(male principle of nature). To present those two opposite principle characters, I used straight lines to represent the "Yin" and I used curved lines to represent the "Yang" Union means the "Yin" and "Yang" works together as confronted principles and they bring us a balance at same moment, and make dual characters as one united factor. As I have described so far in this research paper, I was able to unite the "Yin" and "Yang" contains to express human's dual mentality which places in our mind. The union of heterogeneous factor can be represented in the field through all the formative elements such as compared shape, qualification of feeling, color, requirements and so on. Organic form are expressed its inner sensibility without controls of rationality, distorting free hand drawing shapes. Color which is the one of the major elements of formative art is given great deal of weight for visual-production in my work, and opposite inclination colors were also used such as non-saturated colors and saturated colors, brightness and darkness and so on. The presented colors in my work bring very strong effects when the are staring close by other different colors on surface Purposely, it was good way for my work to cut hard-board paper to express "Yin" and "Yang" by prominence and depression effect, and I have expressed confronted qualified-colors on my work through roughness and softness, gloss and non-gloss by using them as different technique on surface of paper. I helped myself to face an opportunity to manage my emotions through emotional images in experiences of my life. from this moment, I will be working on my works with more thinking faculty as I was inclusively reviewing on my previous work's inclination.
