완벽주의 군집에 따른 성취목표 지향성, 열등감, 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움에서의 차이

Abstract
본 연구는 대학생들을 대상으로 완벽주의의 하위유형이 어떻게 나타나는지 살펴보고, 이들 유형 간에 성취목표 지향성, 열등감, 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움에서 차이를 보이는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울 및 경기도 소재 대학교에 재학 중인 남녀 대학생 587명(남: 189명, 여: 398명)을 대상으로 두 가지의 다차원적 완벽주의 척도(FMPS, HMPS), 성취목표 지향성 척도, 열등감 척도, 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움 척도를 사용하여 설문을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 아래와 같다. 첫째, 완벽주의 하위요인들(개인적 기준, 부모의 기대, 부모의 비난, 실수에 대한 염려, 수행에 대한 의심, 자기지향 완벽주의, 타인지향 완벽주의, 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의)을 토대로 2 단계 군집분석을 실시한 결과 5개의 군집유형이 도출되었으며, 각 군집은 개인적 기준이 가장 높게 나온 ‘자기 만족형 완벽주의’, 부모의 기대가 높고 그 기대를 충족시키지 못할 시 부모의 비난을 받아 부담을 느끼게 되는 ‘부모 주도형 완벽주의’, 완벽주의 모든 하위요인에서 두드러지게 높은 수준을 보이는 ‘전형적/철저한 완벽주의’, ‘전형적/철저한 완벽주의’와는 별개로 모든 완벽주의 하위요인에서 낮은 점수를 받아 완벽주의 성향을 보이지 않았다고 할 수 있는 ‘비완벽주의’, 스스로에게는 크게 완벽함을 요구하지는 않으나 다른 사람의 수행에 민감하게 반응하는 ‘타인 지향 완벽주의’로 구분할 수 있었다. 둘째, 군집분석을 통해 도출된 5개의 완벽주의 하위군집은 인구 통계학적 특성(성별, 학년, 학교 유형, 전공 계열, 평균 학점 수준)에서는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 그러나 완벽주의 군집유형에 따른 심리적 특성(성취목표 지향성, 열등감, 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움)에서의 차이를 알아본 결과, 숙달접근 목표지향성과 수행접근 목표지향성은 전형적/철저한 완벽주의 유형에서 가장 높았고, 숙달회피 목표지향성은 부모 주도형 완벽주의 유형에서 높게 나타났다. 열등감은 부모 주도형 완벽주의와 전형적/철저한 완벽주의 유형에서 높았고, 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움은 전형적/철저한 완벽주의, 부모 주도형 완벽주의, 타인 지향 완벽주의 유형 순으로 높게 나타났다. 이 같은 결과는 완벽주의의 하위군집유형에 따라 심리적 특성의 차이가 다양하게 나타날 수 있음을 의미한다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점, 후속 연구를 위한 제언에 대해 논의하였다.|The purpose of this study was to examined the sub-groups of perfectionism through cluster analysis among college students in order to provide the indicator for different perspective toward perfectionism. The participants of this study were 600 college students in Seoul and Gyeonggi area. Each participants responded to the several scales completely after read cautions and confidentiality on the first page of questionnaire. All scales used in questionnaire as followed: two Multidimensional Perfectionism Scales(FMPS and HMPS), Career Achievement Goals Scale, Inferiority Scale, Brief-Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale. Finally, for the right purpose of this study, only 587 subjects were used in the analysis.
Collected data were analyzed by cluster analysis to know how sub-groups of perfectionism gathered, and ANOVA to examined the psychological differences within sub-types of perfectionism. Cluster 1 named as ‘Self-satisfaction Perfectionism’ showed the high personal standard, parental expectation and the low the others. Cluster 2 ‘Parents-leading Perfectionism’ was characterized the high parental expectation and parental criticism. Cluster 3 named ‘Thorough Perfectionism' showed high scores in every aspects of perfectionism(concerns over mistake, personal standard, parental expectation, parental criticism, doubt about action, self oriented perfectionism, other oriented perfectionism, socially prescribed perfectionism). On the other hand, Cluster 4 named as ‘Non-Perfectionism' because cluster 4 didn't show any characteristics of perfectionism. The last, cluster 5 named as ‘Others-toward Perfectionism' characterized the high other oriented perfectionism only. Through one-way ANOVA, there' re significant differences between three psychological factors, career achievement goals, inferiority, and the fear of negative evaluation. Based on these results, the implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
