슈베르트와 슈만의 「미뇽의 노래」비교 연구 및 연주법 연구

Abstract

「미뇽의 노래」는 Goethe의 소설 「빌헬름 마이스터의 수업시대(Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre)」에 등장하는 미뇽이 부르는 네 편의 시로써 1편 ＜Kennst du das Land＞, 2편 ＜Nur wer die Sehnsucht Kennt＞, 3편＜Heiß mich nicht reden＞, 4편 ＜So lasst mich Scheinen＞으로 이루어져 있으며 슈베르트와 슈만을 비롯한 수많은 작곡가들에게 작곡의 대상이 된 시이다. 본 논문에서는 독일 예술 가곡의 전형을 이룬 낭만초기의 슈베르트와 그에게 많은 영향을 받아 낭만시대 절정에 이른 슈만의 「미뇽의 노래」를 비교해 보고자 한다. 성악곡이 기악곡과 구별되는 중요한 이유 중의 하나는 가사를 가진다는 점이다. 그 선택한 가사에 따라서 똑같은 가사라 할지라도 해석하는 관점에 따라 음악적 표현에는 많은 차이가 생기게 된다. 이런 점에서 같은 시에 붙인 다른 작곡가의 곡을 비교 연구해 보는 것은 가치 있는 일일 것이다. 특히 괴테의 시는 많은 작곡가들에게 영감을 불러 일으켰는데 그의 생애와 음악관을 통해 그 연관성을 알아보고자 한다. 본 연구를 위해 먼저 시의 배경이 되는 소설 「빌헬름 마이스터의 수업시대」의 줄거리와 작품배경, 그리고 이 소설이 문학사조에서 어떤 위치에 있으며 사회적으로 어떤 영향을 끼쳤는지 알아본다. 그리고 소설 속의 미뇽의 성격을 알아봄으로써 시의 이해를 돕고 음악의 표현방법에 도움을 얻고자 한다. 음악에 있어서는 각 작곡가의 가곡의 일반적 특징을 먼저 알아본 후, 각 작품에서 표현된 형식, 화성, 선율과 리듬, 악상, 반주법을 분석함과 동시에 연주상의 주의 점을 연구해 봄으로써 실제적인 연주에 도움이 되고자 한다.|「Lied der Mignon」 is made of four pieces of poems sung by Mignon who appears in Goethe's novel 「Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre」. The four poems are 1.＜Kennst du das Land＞, 2.＜Nur wer die Sehnsucht Kennt＞, 3.＜Heiß mich nicht reden＞, 4. ＜So lasst mich Scheinen＞ and they were used to compose by many composers including Schubert and Schumann. This thesis compares two different versions of 「Lied der Mignon」 by Schubert in early Romanticism which established a typical model for the German Art Songs and by Schumann who was influenced by Schubert and reached his zenith of Romanticism. One of the important criteria that can distinguish a vocal music and an instrumental music is that the former has the lyric. Even though the lyrics are identical, musical expression can be different according to the lyrics selected. Considering this, it is meaningful to study by comparing different songs composed from the same poem. The poems of Goethe especially inspired many composers. This thesis discovers its correlation how his poem inspired the composers by studying his life and his musical viewpoint. For this study this thesis explains regarding the outline and the story background of the novel 「Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre」 which gave the background of the poem. And also, it explains where this novel is placed in the trend of literature and how it influenced the society. Studying the characteristics of Mignon in the novel provides a chance to understand the poem better and to learn diverse ways of musical expression. For musical area, this thesis is focused on general characteristics of each composer's songs. And it analyzes the form, the harmony, the melody, the rhythm, the theme and the technique of accompaniment which were shown in each piece and also explains what should be cautious about when playing the music so that it can be helpful in a real performance.
