바로크시대의 악기와 연주기법에 관한 연구(바이올린 중심으로)

Abstract

현대 연주자들이 과거에 만들어진 작품을 해석하는 방식은 각자의 개성에 따라 다양하게 나타날 수 있지만 크게 보자면 두 가지 방식으로 나눌 수 있다. 한 가지는 과거에 그 음악이 어떻게 연주 되었는지에 대해 구애받지 않고 현재 사용하는 악기와 현대의 감각에 맞게 연주하는 것이고, 다른 한 가지는 과거 그 음악이 연주 되었던 상황이나 현실을 가능한 한 그대로 복원하여 당시 작곡가가 의도했던 소리에 가장 가깝게 연주하는 것이다. 이러한 두 가지 방식 중 연주자들이 어떤 방식으로 과거 음악을 연주하던 간에 과거의 음악을 연주하기 위해서는 과거 음악의 실체에 대한 정확한 지식이 반드시 필요하다. 왜냐하면 과거 음악의 실체를 알지 못하면 그것을 적극적으로 복원하고 따를 수도, 또한 그것을 현대적으로 해석할 수도 없기 때문이다. 본 연구는 바로크 음악을 중심으로 그 당시 음악의 실체를 고찰해 보려고 한다. 이 시기는 다양한 형식들이 만들어지고 정비되었으며 이 시기부터 기악을 위한 음악이 작곡되기 시작했고 기악음악이 성악 음악과 거의 비등한 정도에까지 이르게 되면서 음악의 한 장르로 자리 잡게 되었기 때문이다. 또한 이태리 바이올린 제작자들의 제조기술의 발달에 힘입어 변화 발전한 바이올린은 바로크시대에 악기 모양의 완성을 이루었으며, 바로크시대의 악기들은 현재 사용되고 있는 현악기와 주법이나 관습, 음악형식과 표현 기법등에서도 여러모로 차이점을 보인다. 본 논문은 바로크 음악의 이해를 높이기 위해 먼저 바로크시대 음악의 특징에 대해 알아본 후 바로크시대의 바이올린과 현대의 바이올린의 차이점에 대해서 살펴보았다. 그리고 그 시대의 연주 관습을 통해 바로크 음악의 형식과 표현 기법등을 비롯하여 바로크시대의 작품을 어떻게 해석해야 되는지 연구해보았다. 본 논문을 통해 바로크 음악을 제대로 이해하고 연주하는데 조금이나마 도움이 되었으면 한다. | The methods in which modern players interpret pieces made in the past may vary depending on the personalities of each individual but broadly speaking, two methods can be divided. One is to play it matching with musical instruments used currently and modern senses without being limited to how the music was performed in the past, and the other is to play it as closely as the sound which the composer intended to at the time by restoring the situation or the reality in which the music was performed as closely as it was in the past. Of these two methods, in order to play the music of the past whether in what way players play it, exact knowledge of the essence of the past music is absolutely required because if you don't know the real aspects of the past music, it is impossible to actively restore and follow it, nor to interpret it contemporarily . This study aims examining the essence of the music at the time based on baroque music. In this period of time, a variety of forms were made and elaborated and from this time, instrumental music began to be composed and it settled as a genre of music reaching almost equal degree to vocal music. Furthermore, the violin changed and was developed with the advance of making techniques of Italian violin manufacturers to complete its shape in the baroque period, and musical instruments of the baroque period are different in many ways from string instruments used at present in the aspects of the style of rendition, convention, and musical forms and techniques of expression, etc. This paper examined differences between the violin in the baroque period and that of modern times after investigating musical characteristics in the baroque period on the preferential basis in order to enhance understanding of baroque music. And I conducted researches regarding how to interpret pieces in the baroque period including forms and techniques of expression of baroque music through playing conventions at the time. I hope that this paper will be of some help one to understand baroque music properly and play it.
