Study on the method of Art Education for Infants by art therapy research
Abstract
Art activities provides infants lots of opportunities to learn a variety of experiences and the activity by which they can express their thoughts makes them creative.
Infants express themselves by drawing pictures, which reflect their psychological state, social relationship and emotional feelings.
The purpose of the art activities by infants is not a training or a practice which requires them to copy the nature exactly the same but a development that endow them with art creativity, recognition and sensitivity through connecting various colors to matters for themselves.
Therefore education that helps infants use their five senses is required to let them accumulate their unlimited potentials, emotions and creativities step by step.
The education also encourages them to develop proper expression techniques, creativities and other aspects(self-confidence, leadership, socialities) that is essential for infant's by stimulating their curiosities and original art potentials.
Art education for infants should be understood in a way that the education is composed of gradual procedures that help infants enhance themselves after going through art procedures and results supported and motivated by experienced teacher.
From the viewpoint above, This study is focused on the how to guide, how to teach and how to help infants to study for achieving the purpose desirably.
In the 1st chapter, the abstract of this study that contains the necessity and the purpose are clearly given.
In the 2nd chapter, history and trend in the art education for infants are investigated on the basis of theories and the features of the art education for infants and development stages are studied.
In the 3rd chapter, how to guide and teach infants , the role of teachers in class is mainly described.
In the 4th chapter, the effect of the art therapy is analyzed after observing results from the class which is applied to infants 6 times in total.
This study shows that the art education which considers infant's circumstances, private attitudes, psychological features is more effective in developing their creativities and expressions than the education that puts emphasis on functional techniques.
