뮤지컬을 통한 음악수업이 고등학생의 다중지능에 미치는 영향

Abstract

현대사회는 급변하고 있고 우리는 정보의 홍수의 시대에 살고 있으며 고등학생들은 다양한 것들을 경험할 기회에 열려있다. 그리고 이러한 현대사회의 흐름에 맞게 교육방식 역시 다양하고 창의적인 방식들이 요구된다. 교육과학기술부에서는 창의성 교육의 중요성에 대해서 강조하고 있으며 무엇보다 음악은 기초 능력에 바탕을 두고 새롭게 도전하며 창의성을 발휘하는 것에 대해 초점을 두고 있다. 그렇기 때문에 음악수업은 교사 중심의 수업이 아닌 학생들의 자발적인 참여로 이루어지는 수업이 되어, 창의성을 향상시킬 수 있는 환경이 되어야 한다. 뮤지컬은 노래와 춤, 기악음악, 무대장치, 대사, 조명, 의상 등과 같이 다양한 장르의 예술형태가 한데 어우러져 있다는 점에서 ‘종합’예술로써 참여자로 하여금 다양한 능력을 필요로 한다. 또한 학생들이 자발적이고 직접적으로 참여할 수 있는 교육에 효과적이라 볼 수 있다. 이러한 연구의 필요성을 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 뮤지컬수업에 가드너가 주장한 다중지능이론을 연결지어 보았으며, 뮤지컬 수업을 통해 고등학생의 다중지능에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 데 목적을 두었다. 서울의 S공연예고 1학년에 재학중인 학생 25명을 대상으로 사전에 MI적성진단검사를 실시하였고 뮤지컬 수업을 1차시당 100분씩 총 12차시로 진행한 후 동일한 검사지로 사후 검사를 실시하였다. 검사결과에서 도출된 각 학생의 점수 변화를 비교?분석 하였다. 본 연구에 대한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 뮤지컬 수업은 다중지능의 8가지 영역 중 음악적 지능, 신체적 지능, 언어적 지능, 대인관계적 지능, 자연친화적 지능, 논리?수학적 지능에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 사전?사후 검사 결과를 분석해 보면 위의 6가지 지능 영역은 학생 개개인의 점수가 상승했을 뿐만 아니라 통계적으로도 (p<.05) 유의미하다. 그러나 공간적 지능과 자기이해적 지능은 유의미한 차이를 나타내지 못했다. 둘째, 뮤지컬 수업 후 남?여학생의 발달의 차이를 본 결과 성별에 따른 경향 차이는 알아볼 수 없었다. 셋째, 질적 연구로 알아본 결과 뮤지컬 수업은 음악성, 사회성, 신체훈련, 흥미영역에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 음악성에 좋은 영향을 미친다는 것은 뮤지컬 수업 후 ‘화음 맞추는 것이 가장 즐거웠다.’ ‘노래를 못할 줄 알았는데 자신이 생겼다.’ ‘친구들과 함께 노래하는 것이 좋았다.’ 등의 학생들의 반응을 통해 알 수 있었다. 사회성은 담임교사와의 면담과 학생들과의 면담을 통해 향상됨을 알 수 있었다. 학생들은 친구들과의 관계와 협동하여 뮤지컬 장면을 만드는 과정을 중요하게 생각하는 모습을 보였으며 뮤지컬 수업 후 학급 분위기가 더 밝아지고 교우관계가 좋아졌다. 신체훈련 영역은 학생들의 수업 소감문과 촬영한 수업 동영상을 통해 살펴본 결과 몸을 움직이는 것을 즐거워하는 모습, 뻣뻣한 몸이 유연해 진 모습, 한결 자연스러운 몸동작으로 인해 연기력도 향상됨을 발견 할 수 있었다. 흥미도가 높아진 것은 소감문과 학생들과의 면담 및 대화를 통해 알 수 있었다. 학생들은 뮤지컬 활동에 관한 열의와 흥미를 보이는 질문들을 하였다. 이것은 학생들 스스로가 뮤지컬에 대해 관심과 흥미를 갖기 때문에 생겨난 결과라 볼 수 있다. 연구 결과 뮤지컬 수업은 고등학생의 다중지능에 영향을 미치기 때문에 학생들에게 뮤지컬을 접할 수 있는 기회를 줄 수 있도록 하고, 뮤지컬 수업이 보다 활성화 될 수 있도록 다양한 지도방안이 연구되어야 할 것이다.|Modern society is changing rapidly and we are living in the deluge of information and highschool students have many chances to experience variety kinds of things. Consequently, teaching methods are need to be diverse and creative according to current trend in modern society. Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has emphasized importance of education on creativity, and especially about music, it focuses on challenging new things and showing creativity, based on basic abilities. Therefore, music teachers are not center of a class, but students are, and they need to lead the class as they voluntarily participate in a class. So a class need to build environment that students can improve their creativities. Musical is a composite art as it requires singing, dancing, instrumental music, stage, lights, lines, costumes etc, and it needs diverse abilities of participants. Also, musical is effective teaching method as students can voluntarily and directly participate. With necessities of research on musical, this study connects a musical class to Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, and has a purpose on examining effects that a musical class brings on multiple intelligences of highschool students. This study performed MI aptitude, career inclination test on 25 freshmen from S school of performing arts in Seoul, and it gave 12 times of musical classes(a class was for 100 minutes) then it tested students with the same paper as the one before classes. And it analyzed and compared changes in T scores. This is results of the study. First, musical classes had positive influences on musical intelligence, physical intelligence, linguistic intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, nature-friendly intelligence, logical-mathematical intelligence. With analyzing before and after results of the tests, above six intelligence areas were statistically meaningful, and T scores increased. There were, however, no meaningful differences on spatial intelligence and self-understanding intelligence. Second, with comparing developmental differences between girls and boys after finishing musical classes, this study found no differences on tendencies. Third, according to qualitative research, musical classes had positive influences on musicality ,sociality, physical training and field of interests. This study could found positive influences on musicality through student's responses such as 'Harmony was my favorite', 'I thought I couldn't sing but now I have confident,''i liked to sing with my friends.' This study could found positive influences on sociality through interviews with teachers and students. Students showed behaviors that they cherished the process of making scenes of musical which they needed to cooperate. After the musical, students showed improved friendships and classes were brighter. This study could found positive influences on physical training through students reviews about the musical class and videos which recorded classes. In the videos, this study could found such scenes that students were happy to move their bodies, their bodies were more flexible, and acting improved as they could move their body more naturally. This study could found increasement of interests through reviews, and conversations and interviews with students. Students showed enthusiasm and interests in musical activities. This was because students voluntarily had interests in musical. As a result, musical classes had good influences on students' multiple intelligences, so it's important to offer opportunities to experience musical. and future studies need to find teaching methods to vitalize musical classes.
