물의 유동적 이미지 표현 연구

Abstract

일상에서 보여 지는 다양한 물의 움직임에 의해 형성되는 유동적 흐름은 그것을 보는 이로 하여금 많은 상상력과 감정을 갖게 한다. 이러한 상상력과 감정은 삶의 경험을 통하여 비유됨으로 해서 추억의 이미지를 떠올리게 된다. 이에 본 연구자는 물의 분위기에 따라 다양하게 느껴지는 감정을 통하여 물의 유동적 이미지에 관심을 갖게 되었고, 물의 속성이라는 것이 무한함을 알게 되어 연구의 대상으로 삼게 되었다. 물은 정해진 형이 없어 그것이 존재하는 환경에 따라 유동적 움직임을 보이므로 그 특징을 찾아내는 과정과 표현함에 있어 어려움을 느끼게 하는 소재이다. 이러한 대상을 표현하기 위하여 각각의 이미지에 따라 금속의 면적(面的), 박적(박的), 환선적(環線的) 느낌의 재료를 사용하여 적절한 표현방법을 찾는데 중점을 두었다. 조형전개에 있어 금속은 물의 투과성을 나타내지 못하므로 이를 감안하여 분위기에 따른 물의 유동적 움직임으로 보이지 않는 부분까지 상상하도록 표현하였고, 물의 움직임을 발생시키는 타의적 요소를 등장시킴으로써 조형화하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 다양한 물의 분위기에서 느낀 본인의 주관적인 감성을 금속공예를 통하여 객관적으로 공감할 수 있도록 하였으며, 심미적 가치를 지닌 실내조형물로서의 역할을 도모하였다. 또한 물의 분위기가 부여하는 상상력을 통하여 인간 본연의 순수함으로 회귀하고, 물이 주는 아름다움이 재인식 되는 계기로 삼고자 한다.|In normal life, a fluid stream, which has created by various motions of water, would lead the viewers to obtain a lot of imagination and emotion. The imagination and emotion will be likened to real life's experiences and help the viewers to bring back the memorable images. Therefore, I have been interested in the various emotion created by the water's motional images. After I have learned about the unlimited characteristics of water, I have decided to research on water. Water does not have a set form, so shows various movements with its surroundings. Therefore, water has been a hard subject matter to find out its characteristics and ways to express about it. In order to express this subject matter, I have been trying to find out the most appropriate ways to express the metal's characteristic images, such as surface, foil, and wire, with the most appropriate materials. In this formative discovery, a metal cannot express the water's permeability. Therefore, I had to express the water's fluid motion influenced by the atmosphere in order to help the viewers to imagine about the invisible parts. I also used the sources that create the water's movements in order to develop the water to become a model. Therefore, this research would like to help the viewers to understand my own sense toward the water through this metal work. My metal model serves the role of indoor sculpture expressing the aesthetic value of water. In addition, this research would like to give the chance to viewers to imagine about water's motion. I wish the viewers can re-think about the human's purity and recognize the beauty created by water.
