단소와 가야금을 활용한 병주 지도방안

Abstract

이 연구의 목적은 단소와 가야금을 활용한 병주 지도방안을 제시하여 학생들이 다양한 국악기를 접하는 기회가 되며, 국악에 흥미를 느낄 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 단소와 가야금으로 악곡을 연주하고, 병주를 하기 위해서는 무엇보다 병주에 대한 개념과 두 악기에 대한 기본적인 지식, 특징을 이해하고 악기를 다루는 것이 중요하다. 따라서 지도방안은 2007년 개정교육과정을 근거로, 다양한 학습활동을 단계적으로 적용하여 중학생의 수준과 난이도에 맞게 구성하였다. 지도 단계는 병주와 단소, 가야금을 이해하는 기초단계, 주법의 난이도를 높이며 악기를 익히고 병주를 하는 발전단계, 제재곡을 발표하고 평가하는 심화단계로 구분하였고 세부적으로 제재곡의 난이도와 지도내용에 따라 9단계로 구성하여 연계할 수 있도록 하였다. 교수-학습 지도안은 다음과 같은 내용에 따라 구안하였다. 기초단계에서는 ‘병주 및 국악의 여러 연주형태 이해, 단소와 가야금의 음색과 특징, 단소와 가야금의 바른 자세와 단소의 호흡법, 운지법, 가야금의 식지주법, 줄 이름 익히기’ 등을 지도하는 방법을 제시 하였다. 발전단계에서는 ‘상대방의 연주에 귀를 기울여 조화롭게 <두꺼비>병주하기, 병주를 위한 적절한 음량과 음색을 생각하고 <너영나영>을 세마치장단에 맞추어 병주하기, 경기민요의 특징을 살려 조화롭게 <아리랑>병주하기’를 제시하였으며, ‘병주에 어울리는 악기를 찾아보고 병주의 느낌을 그림으로 표현하기’ 등의 활동을 함께 구안하였다. 심화단계에서는 ‘<타령>의 리듬을 살려서 병주하기, 가락의 어울림을 느끼며 장단에 맞추어 흥겹게 <산도깨비>병주하기, <작은 음악회>를 열어 발표와 감상을 하고 평가하기’등의 내용과 ‘병주로 <산도깨비>가사에 맞는 즉흥연주하기, 친구들의 연주에 추임새를 넣으며 감상하기’ 등의 활동을 제시하였다. 수업 지도안에서 단원의 선정은 단소와 가야금과 관련된 교재와 개정 7차 중학교 교과서 등을 참고하였고, 학생들이 다양한 국악을 접할 수 있도록 민요, 전래동요, 창작국악, 정악의 범위 내에서 <너영나영>, <아리랑>, <두꺼비>, <산도깨비>, <타령>을 선정하여 병주에 알맞게 편곡하였다. 수업은 ‘단소 익히기➝ 가야금 익히기➝ 전체 학생을 두 모둠으로 나누기➝ 단소와 가야금 병주➝ 악기를 바꾸어 병주’의 절차에 따라 진행되도록 하였다. 이 연구를 통해 효과적인 국악교육이 활성화 되고, 학생들이 국악에 대한 친밀감과 이해도를 높여 우리민족의 전통음악을 계승, 발전할 수 있는 계기가 되기를 기대한다.

| The purpose of this research is to suggest a parallel performance teaching methodology using the danso and gayageum. It seeks to provide an opportunity for students to access various types of Korean traditional music and to feel an increased interest in our music. To play a tune with the danso and gayageum, and especially to do a parallel performance of the two instruments, first and foremost, one must have an understanding of parallel performance and basic knowledge of the individual characteristics of the instruments involved. Thus, based on the 7thEducational Curriculum Revision, the lessons are organized to fit the competence of middle school students and provide gradual progress through a variety of learning activities. The course is divided into three stages. The first stage instills a basic understanding of parallel performance,the danso and gayageum. The second stage improves on the knowledge gained in the first stage to play more advanced styles in parallel performance. In the third stage, students perform topical pieceson stage and get evaluated. Depending on the pieces’ difficulty and the lessons, the course can be spread over continuous nine stages. Lesson plan details are as follows. The basic level teaches various performance types in the Korean traditional music, including parallel performance, special characteristics and sounds of the danso and gayageum, correct postures in playing the danso and gayageum, breathing methods while playing the danso, fingering methods, use of the index finger on the gayageum, and learning the names of the gayageum strings, etc. In the next progressive level, students practice listening to the other player and harmoniously accompany him/her in parallel performance of the piece "Dukubi", to think of an appropriate tone and volume for the piece "nuyung nayung" and play this piece in parallel performance in the "semachi" cadence. Students also learn to do a parallel performance of "Arirang" and bring out the special features particular to the songs of Gyunggi province. In a learning activity, students are encouraged to express the sentiments they get from parallel performance through drawing and look for instruments that will make a good match for parallel performance. In the third and advanced level, students will play the rhythms of "taryung"in parallel performance and play "Sandokebi" in a merry, upbeatparallel performance. At this level, students will be encouraged to stage a small concert to both perform on stage and evaluate other students’ performances. They willalso improvise melodies to the lyrics of "Sandokebi." For an activity, students will be encouraged to appreciate and join in their peers’ performances. The lesson plans took account of the 7th Educational Curriculum Revision and textbooks on danso and gayageum. The chapters were arranged accordingly. Folk songs such as Nuyung Nayung, Arirang, Dukubi, Sandokebi, and Taryung were arranged to fit the students’ level and to broaden theirtaste in the Korean traditional music in the areas of folk songs, traditional nursery rhymes, modern Korean classical music, and classical music. The lesson progression is as follows; mastering the danso ➝mastering the gayageum ➝dividing the students into two groups ➝parallel performance of the danso and gayageum ➝change of the instruments in parallel performance. I hope this research contributes to promoting and vitalizing the education of Korean traditional music and to increasing students’ interest and understanding of the Korean traditional music. I hope this research serves as an opportunity to preserve and improve our people’s musical traditions.
