내면의식에 나타난 조형성 연구

Abstract

누구나 삶을 살아가면서 자기 자신의 존재에 대해 한번쯤은 의문을 품어본 적이 있을 것이다. 하지만 이러한 물음에는 명확한 답안이 없으므로 우리는 고민하게 되고 혼란에 빠지게 된다. 이처럼 자신을 이해한다는 것은 매우 어려운 일이지만 인간이라면 필연적으로 갖게 되는 호기심이자 욕구인 동시에 삶을 살아가는데 있어 매우 중요한 문제이기도 하다. 사람들은 또한 다양한 경험과 타인과의 관계 속에서 자신을 이해하고 확인하면서 자아를 형성하게 된다. 하지만 자신을 인식하고 탐구하는 과정에서 자아가 불완전하게 존재한다는 것을 깨닫고 그 속에서 불안과 마주하게 된다. 이러한 감정은 인간에게 있어 보편적으로 나타나는 것으로 본인의 삶과 주변에서도 끊임없이 등장하며 의식을 자극한다. 따라서 본 연구자는 자신뿐 만이 아니라 인간의 모든 삶 속에 내재되어 있는 ‘불안’이라는 감정을 본인의 작품을 통하여 자신만의 언어로 시각적 이미지를 획득하는 그 과정과 의미를 연구하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 그리고 이러한 이미지의 표현이 자신의 내적갈등에서 벗어나 치유와 회복의 염원으로 연결되는 의식의 흐름을 보여주고자 하였다. 예술은 삶의 경험과 거기서 비롯된 다양한 감정을 표현하는 수단으로 작용해 왔으며 예술가의 내면의식을 통하여 고유한 표현방법이나 언어로써 형상화 되고 표현되어져 왔다. 이렇게 표출된 시각적 이미지는 인간의 내재된 가능성을 일깨워주고 삶을 재조명하여 새로운 가치를 부여하여 준다. 본인의 작품에서 내면의식의 표출은 중요한 부분을 차지하고 있다. 화면에 나타나는 형태, 색채, 공간 등은 자신의 감정이나 의식을 향하고 있기 때문이다. 이러한 의식의 표출로 나타나는 종교의 이미지는 신 혹은 구원의 상징으로 나타내고자 하였으며, 한 공간에 자신의 갈등이 투영된 풍경과 인물을 배치함으로써 대비를 통한 주제를 강조하고자 하였다. 이러한 상징성은 자신의 의식과 감정을 대상에 적극적으로 대입시키고 이러한 의식을 표면화시킴으로서 자신의 내면세계를 효과적으로 전달하는 수단으로 작용한다. 또한 대상의 관찰을 통하여 주관적 감정을 표현하고 자신의 생각을 직 · 간접적으로 나타내는데 중요한 표현요소인 색채에 대해서 알아보고 본인에 작품에 내재된 색의 특징들을 살펴보고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 본인의 불안정한 의식에 근거하여 종교의 이미지를 통한 조형적 표현이 어떻게 이루어져 있는지 알아 볼 것이다. 그리고 이를 토대로 현재의 자신의 돌아보고 자신의 가치관을 올바르게 설정하여 앞으로 나아가야 할 방향을 모색하고자 한다. |All of us, living our lives, must have had a question about our own existence at least once. But since there is not a clear answer to it, we come to have a lot of thoughts and as a result get confused. Like this, to understand oneself is very difficult, but it is a very important matter in our lives, which evoke curiosity and desire both of which are indispensible to man. In addition, people form their egos by understanding and acknowledging themselves in the relations with others. However, in the course of recognizing and examining themselves, they find them incomplete beings, encountering uneasiness. Most of all men have this kind of emotion, which incessantly pops up in their lives and surroundings to stimulate consciousness. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to find out the procedure and meaning of describing the emotion "Uneasiness" lying in not only my life but also all the human beings' in the form of a visual image in my own language through my works. And I also want to show the flow of consciousness that the expression of this image gets out of the inner conflict to be connected to the wish for cure and recovery. Arts have functioned as a means to express the experience of life and a variety of emotions coming from that experience and also have been formed and expressed as a language or an intrinsic way of expression through artists' inner awareness. The visual image which is expressed in this way awakens the men's inherent possibilities and sheds new light on their lives so that those can get a new value. In my works, the expression of inner consciousness takes up a very important part, for the shapes, colors and spaces on the pictures are for emotion and awareness. I tried to show that the sacred images shown as the expression of awareness stand for the God or the symbol of redemption. Also I wanted to emphasize the subject with the contrast by arranging in one space the landscape and figures projecting self-conflicts. This kind of symbolism plays the role of substituting aggressively the consciousness and emotion into the subject and externalizing this consciousness to pass on the inner world effectively. Furthermore, I, with the observation of subjects, studied the colors which are the expressing elements important for expressing the subjective emotion and showing my thoughts directly and indirectly, and examined the characteristics of those colors lying in my works. In this dissertation, I, on the basis of my unstable consciousness, checked how the formative expression by the images of religion was done. And with this as a foundation, I looked back on myself to establish my values in a right way for the line of my future works.
