관악부의 효율적인 운영방안 조사연구

Abstract

오늘날 현대 사회에서 음악은 사람이 살아가는데 중요한 영향력 요소로 자리 잡고 있고, 학교에서도 이러한 음악의 중요성을 가르치기 위해 동아리나 특기적성 등 음악활동들이 많이 생겨나고 있다. 그 중에서도 관악부 활동은 청소년기에 있는 고등학생들에게 음악을 흥미롭게 체험할 수 있고, 악기로 자신의 생각을 표현할 수 있으며, 단체 활동을 통해 협동심을 기를 수 있는 유의미한 활동 이다. 그러나 오늘날 고등학교에서는 입시 경쟁으로 인하여 음악교육을 등한시 하고 있고, 이러한 학교의 여건과 관악부의 인식 및 여러 가지 문제점으로 인해 학교 관악부가 효율적으로 운영되고 있지 못하는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 전국관악경연대회에 입상한 학교를 중심으로 인터뷰 및 설문조사하여 각 학교마다 입상할 수 있었던 관악부의 성공요인과 그 문제점이 무엇인지 찾아내고, 이에 대한 효율적인 운영방안을 마련하는데 있다. 이 연구는 2000년~2004년도 까지 전국관악경연대회에 입상 경험이 있는 10개의 고등학교를 선정하여 10명의 관악부 지도교사와 290명의 관악부 학생들을 대상으로 조사하였다. 설문지와 인터뷰를 통하여 분석한 결과 전국대회에 입상할 수 있었던 관악부 성공요인은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 관악부 연습 시에 대회 입상을 목적으로 하는 것이 아닌 대부분 기초 연습을 통해 음정을 매우 강조하였고, 그밖에 소리연습이나 복식호흡, 주법, 텅잉 등의 연습을 강조한 교사도 있었다. 둘째, 조사대상의 학교가 거의 매년마다 정기적으로 관악경연대회에 참관하고 있었고, 학교 내에서 축제 때 마다 음악회를 열어 연주활동을 하고 있었다. 셋째, 관악부 지도교사는 학교의 여건에 맞게 시간을 효율적으로 활용하는 등 학생들의 흥미 위주로 관악부 합주지도를 운영하고 있었다. 그밖에 문제점으로는 첫째, 학교마다 시·교육청에서 관악부 1년 예산을 보조 받고 있으나 학교별로 예산의 차이가 있고, 지원 또한 미흡하여 관악부 학생들의 60%가 장학금 혜택을 거의 못 받고 있는 것으로 조사 되었다. 둘째, 교사 인사이동에 있어서 문제점이 많은 것으로 나타났다. 관악부 지도교사의 발령 문제에 있어서 교육청에서는 관악부 부서가 있는 학교에는 그 실정에 맞게 관악부 지도 경력이 있는 교사를 인사편성 해야 하는데, 이러한 점을 전혀 고려하지 않기 때문이다. 이와 같은 관악부의 문제해결을 위한 효율적인 운영방안으로는 먼저 재정 문제가 해결되어 전문 강사를 통하여 관악부 학생들을 체계적이고 자세하게 지도하는 것이 관악부 발전에 도움이 되겠고, 관악부에 대한 부정적 인식 변화를 위해 병원에서의 자원봉사 연주나 열린 음악회 등을 열어 주변사람들의 인식을 바꾸는 것이 필요하겠다. 또한 관악부 활동을 참관하여 좀더 구체적인 운영 실태와 특징 및 문제점을 찾는 연구가 진행되어야 하겠고, 본 연구는 전국관악경연대회에 입상한 고등학교를 중심으로 연구하였기 때문에 일반화 할 수 없으므로 고등학교 전체 관악부를 조사하고 비교한 후 효율적인 운영방안을 모색하여 고등학교 관악부 발전에 기여하기를 제안한다.|Recently there are more and more musical activities such as music clubs or class of aptitude and talent in schools to teach an importance of music as music is becoming an important element in human lives. Among them, activities of school band are very useful for high school students to experience music interestingly, to express themselves by musical instruments and to grow a cooperative spirit through group activities. However, high schools neglect music education due to entering universities nowadays. School bands can't be managed efficiently because of the high school circumstances, bad images of school bands and other reasons. The purpose of this research is to give some suggestions to manage school bands efficiently by finding out the successful causes of the school bands that won the 'National Band Contest' and their problems through investigations and questionnaires. 10 high school bands, their 10 instructors and their 290 students which have experienced in winning a prize in the 'National Bands Contest' in 2000~2004 were chosen and investigated for this research. As the result, the successful causes are the same as below. First, tone practicing was focused through basic excercise every time not to win a prize. And some instructors focused making sound, the art of abdominal breathing and of playing, tonguing. Second, the school bands have participated in contests regularly and have given a concert during the school festivals every year. Third, the instructors managed the bands efficiently by using time suitably for the school circumstances and for motivating the students. There are some problems. First, there are some discrimination in sponsorship from the educational public services and the scholarship can't be offered to 60% of the students. Second, when band instructors are replaced to another school, it's not considered that the school needs an experienced teacher or not for the school band. Most of all, financial problems should be solved for those problems. The students of school bands should be learned from professional instructors effectively and systematically It's necessary to change a bad image of school band through volunteering concerts in hospitals or opened concerts. In addition, the researches by observations of band activities on the spot should be processed further to find out more efficient managements in detail. Because this research investigated some restricted school bands and the result isn't be generalized, it's important to have more studies on the whole High school bands in Korea for improvement of the high school bands.
