ポライトネスの観点から見た無助詞「は」

Abstract

일본어의 구어체 중에는 문어체에는 없는 특징이 몇 가지 있다. 그 중 하나 가 명사구 뒤에 조사가 붙지 않는 ‘무조사’이다. 예를 들면 일본어 회화에 서는 「(다른 친구들 도시락은 화려하고 예쁜데) 내 도시락은? (私のお弁当 は？)」과 같은 문장이 있는가 하면, 「도시락Ø, 어땠어? (お弁当Ø、どうだっ た。)」와 같이 그러한 조사가 붙지 않는 발화도 자주 볼 수 있다. 이처럼 주어나 목적어가 무조사가 되는 것은 일상 대화에서 흔히 볼 수 있 는 현상으로 단순 생략인 경우도 있지만, 무조사가 아니면 설명할 수 없는 경 우도 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 무조사 「は (wa)」가 어떤 상황이나 조건에 서 나타나는지, 또 어떤 역할을 하고 있는지 등에 대해 폴라이트니스 (Politeness)의 관점에서 고찰하였다. 선행연구에서는 《의뢰》, 《권유》, 《평가》 등의 표현에는 무조사「は (wa)」가 나타난다고 지적되고 있지만, 실제 일본어 회화를 보면 긍정적인 평 가뿐만 아니라 부정적인 평가나 《비난》, 《거절》, 그리고 《허가》나 《주 문》 등을 요청할 때도 무조사「は」가 사용되는 경우가 있었다. 구체적으로 상대에게 미치는 《비난》이나 《충고》 등의 부담을 조금이라 도 완화하기 위해 무조사「は」가 의도적으로 사용되었다고 판단된다. 그 외 에도, 상대에게 《허가》를 요청하거나 상대의 권유를 《거절》하는 장면에서 도 무조사「は (wa)」가 사용되었는데, 이는「は」에 의한 대비나 강조의 뜻을 피해《허가》요청의 부담이나 《거절》의 부담을 조금이라도 완화하기 위해, 무조사「は」가 의도적으로 사용되었다고 판단된다. 그뿐 아니라, 선행연구에서는 무조사「は (wa)」의 「꺼내기 (取り出し)」기능 에는 「신호성」과 「완화 (やわらげ)」의 기능이 있으며, 「やわらげ」는 대비 성이나 배타성과 상관없이 중립적으로 기술하는 작용이 있다고 주장하고 있으 나, 본 연구에서는 폴라이트니스 이론을 원용하여 고찰한 결과, 무조사「は (wa)」에는 <발화 완화>의 기능이 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 즉, 단순히 중립 적으로 기술하는 작용이 아니라, 화자(= 말하는 사람)의 주장을 완화해 주는 효력이 무조사「は (wa)」에 있다고 말할 수 있다. 이 점이 선행연구와의 차 이이기도 하다. 이러한 무조사를 사용한 배려는 한국어에서도 볼 수 있는 현상이다. 그리고 많은 연구에서 자주 지적되고 있는 무조사 「が (ga)」나「を (wo)」 등도 포 함하여 남겨진 문제점은 앞으로의 과제로 삼겠다.|There are some characteristic that are not found in the written language of Japanese. One of them is ‘Non-Postposition’ attached after a noun phrase. For example, in Japanese conversation, there are sentences such as 「(My friends’ lunch boxes are fancy, but) my lunch box? (私のお 弁当は？)」, and utterances that don‘t have such postposition such as 「Yukari's rice ballsØ, that's awesome. (由香里のおにぎりØ、おしゃれだね 。)」 and 「Lunch boxØ, how was it? (お弁当Ø、どうだった？)」 are often seen. The subject or object being Non-Postposition is a common phenomenon in daily conversation and may be simply omitted, but in some cases, it cannot be explained unless it is Non-Postposition. In this study, the situation and conditions of 「は(wa)」 of Non-Postposition appear and what role it plays were considered from the perspective of Politeness. Previous studies have pointed out that expressions such as "Request," "Recommendation," and "Evaluation" appear without postposition, but in actual Japanese conversations, not only positive evaluations, but also negative evaluations, "Criticism," "Rejection," and "Permission" or "Order" were used. It is judged that the 「は(wa)」 of Non-Postposition was intentionally used to ease the burden of ‘Criticism’ or ‘Advice’ on the other person. In addition, in the scene of requesting "Permission" from the opponent or "Rejecting" the opponent's recommendation used Non-Postposition. This is to alleviate the burden of requesting "Permission" or "Rejection" even a little by avoiding the meaning of preparation or emphasis by 「は(wa)」. Also, Previous studies have argued that the function of 「は(wa)」 of Non-Postposition has the function of ‘Signaling’ and 「やわらげ(yawarage )」, and that 「やわらげ(yawarage)」 has a neutral description regardless of contrast or exclusivity. However, in this study, it was found that the 「は (wa)」 of Non-Postposition has the function of ‘Verbalness of Alleviation’ as a result of reviewing based on the politeness theory.
