S. Prokofiev의 Piano Sonata No.2, Op.14에 관한 연구

Abstract

20세기 초는 러시아 혁명과 두 차례의 세계대전으로 인하여 러시아 뿐 아니라 전 세계적으로 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화적인 혼란의 시기였다. 이 혼란의 시기에 활동하였던 세르게이 프로코피에프 (Sergey Prokofiev, 1891-1953)는 러시아 음악을 대표하는 작곡가중 한 사람이다. 뛰어난 피아니스트이기도 했던 그는 전 생애를 통해 다양한 장르에 많은 작품을 남겼으며 특히 피아노 음악에 큰 비중을 두었고, 피아노라는 악기를 자신의 작품세계를 표현하는 중요한 매개체로 사용하였다. 프로코피에프는 20세기의 시대적 상황과 그의 사상을 음악 속에 담아 자신의 내면세계를 표현하였다. 그의 작품들 가운데 특히 피아노 곡 들은 후기 낭만 음악어법과 현대적 작곡기법을 접목시켜 그만의 독특한 음악세계를 실현하였으며 러시아 음악에 중요한 영향을 끼쳤다. 그중에서 9개의 피아노 소나타는 그의 음악적 특성과 독창성이 잘 나타나 있는 20세기의 대표적인 피아노 작품들로 평가된다. 본 논문에서는 프로코피에프의 생애와 작품세계, 피아노 음악을 알아보고 초기 소나타인 Piano Sonata No.2, Op.14의 형식, 리듬, 화성 및 선율을 분석 하였다. 프로코피에프는 이 작품에서 고전적이지만 자신만의 혁신적인 면을 조화시킴으로 전통적인 것을 계승하고 독창성을 접목시켜 새로운 것을 추구하였음을 알 수 있으며, 따라서 그의 음악적 특징이 잘 반영되어 있는 작품이다. 이러한 선행 연구와 작품분석을 통하여서 연주자들은 프로코피에프의 예술세계에 대한 이해의 깊이를 더하고, 나아가 20세기 피아노 음악에 큰 공헌을 한 그의 작품연주에 대한 보다 올바른 해석이 가능하다고 본다.|Due to the Russian Revolution and the World wars, the early period of the twentieth century was a time of confusion in terms of politics, economy and faced cultural crisis as well. Sergey Prokofiev, one of the representative Russian composers of the time, was a virtuoso pianist and composer, and left many great works in various musical genres. His main concern was piano music and he uses the piano as a main instrument to express his musical thought. The contemporary social environment and philosophical thoughts were permeated in his music thus reflecting his internal consciousness. By combining the late-Romantic expressionism and modern compositional techniques, Prokofiev successfully realizes his unique musical language. He became a very influential figure for the next generation of Russian music world. As his own musical features and special characteristics are well expressed in his nine piano sonatas, these are regarded as one of the representative piano pieces of the twentieth century. In this thesis, the musical world of Prokofiev and his life as well as his piano music are investigated followed by a detailed analysis of his piano sonata No. 2, Op. 14, in terms of form, rhythm, harmony and melody. In this sonata, Prokofiev well balanced the Classical formal aspects with an innovative modern compositional technique that is one of the main characteristics of his music. Through this background research and a detailed analysis of the work preceding, a performer can have an in-depth understanding of Prokofiev's musical world. Furthermore, one can provide a better performance practice and comprehension of this piano sonata with an aid of the research in this thesis.
