Oliver Messiaen의 음악어법연구

Abstract

20세기의 많은 작곡가들은 19세기까지의 음악적 전통으로부터 벗어나고자 여러가지 노력을 기울였다. 그리하여 음악 양식적으로 커다란 변화가 있었는데 그 중 가장 뚜렷한 변화는 바로 조성의 붕괴이다. 장단조의 음계는 반음계주의에서 무조음악, 12음 기법, 전음렬주의로 변화되어 가는데 중요한 위치에서 핵심적인 역할을 한 사람이 바로 프랑스 대표적 작곡가이며 교육자인 올리비에 메시장 ( Oliver Messiaen, 1908-1992) 이다. 그 시대 많은 작곡가들은 독자적인 양식으로 각자의 작품세계를 인상주의, 표현주의, 전자음악, 구체음악 등으로 다양하게 나타냈다. 이런 시대 메시앙은 어느 사조에도 속하지 않고 자기만의 독특한 음악양식으로 ㅅ로운 음악의ㅐ 방향을 제시하였다. 카톨릭 신앙과 종교적인 음악철학의 바탕 위에 다양한 화성들을 만들어 냈으며 이국적 리듬을 수용한 첨가가치 기법은 그의 전 작품에서 비역행리듬과 함께 중추적인 역할을 한다. 그의 이러한 음악적 특징은 「아기예수를 바라보는 20개의 시선(Vingt Regards sur l'Enfant-Jesus ) 」에 잘 나타나 있다. 본 논문은 1944년에 작곡된 대표적 피아노 작품 「 아기예수를 바라보는 20개의 시선」 을 통해 그의 작곡어법과 이 신앙적 주제가 어떻게 전개되었는지 알아보고 그 중 제 14번 「 천사들의 시선 (Regard des Anges) 」 에 나타난 음악적 특징, 구조, 리듬, 선법, 화성과 주제의 사용을 분석 연구한 것이다.

|Many composers of the 20th century made various efforts to free themselves from musical traditions sustained until the 19th century. Accordingly, their rfforts caused large changes in musical modes. The most distinct change of them was the collapse of tonality. It was Oliver Messiaen （1908 - 1992), a representative composer and the minor's shifting from chromaticism to atonal music, twelve-tone music and total serialism. Most contemporary composers expressed their own world of music using impressionism, expressed electronic music, and musique concrete in a unique way of their own. At that time, Messiaed did not belong to any thend andpresented a direction for new music using peculiar music of his own. Based on Catholic religion and philosophy of relegious music, he made diverse chords. Added value technique which accepted exotic rhythms played the central role in his all works along with the non-retrogradable rhythm. Theses characteristics of his music appreared well in 「Vingt Regards sur l'Enfant-Jesus 」. This thesis exmined how his composition expression and this religious theme were developed by analyzing 「Vingt Regards sur l'Enfant-Jesus 」, his representative piano work composed in 1944 and analyzed musical characteristics, structure, rhythms, modes, chords, and the use of theme in No. 14 「 Regard des Anges」.
