Clairaut의 기하학 원론에 담긴 역사 발생적 원리 연구

Abstract

우리가 사용하는 도형 기하의 발생은 토지측량이라는 인류의 필요성 속에서 찾을 수 있다. 하지만 Euclid의 [원론]을 바탕으로 한 기하교육은 이러한 기하의 발생에 대해 학생들이 배울 수 있는 기회를 충분히 제공하지 못한다. 성인을 대상으로 한 [원론]의 형식적이고 연역적인 전개 방식은 기하의 초보자인 어린 학생들이 흥미를 유발하기 어렵고, 학생들은 기하를 현실과 동떨어진 지루한 학문으로 오인하게 만든다. Clairaut의 [기하학 원론]은 역사 발생적 원리에 의해 구현된 최초의 기하교재로 기하의 발생의 순서에 따라 전개되어 초보자도 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 전개된다. 이 책에 등장하는 정의와 정리들은 수학자들이 그 개념을 발견해 나가는 순서에 따라 발생하게 된 배경과 함께 서술하고 있어 독자들은 단순한 연산능력만 있어도 이 책을 어려움 없이 소화할 수 있다. 본 논문은 Clairaut의 주장대로 도형 기하 영역을 발생의 동기와 과정에 따르는 역사 발생적 원리에 따라 교수 학습 함으로써 학생들이 발견학습을 할 기회를 제공해 수학적 사고력을 신장시키며, 수학을 실생활과 밀접한 학문으로 인식시키는데 그 목적이 있다. 먼저 역사 발생적 원리와 중학교 수학교과서에서 다루는 도형 기하의영역에 대해 살펴본 후 중학교 3학년 수학교과서에 나타는 역사 발생적 원리에 대해 분석한다. 그리고 Clairaut의 [기하학 원론]에 나타난 역사 ㅂ라생적 원리에 발견술에 대해 탐색해 본 후, 그의 전개방식에 따른 중학교 3학년 기하영역 중 원의 성질과 피타고라스의 정리의 적용방안을 제시한다.|The mathematical education in the 21st century focus on learning and evaluating the coming of mutual understanding, development of logical reasoning and problem solving. The purpose of the 7th Korean curriculum is to obtain mathematical knowledge, improve ability to think mathematically and to solve many problems related with real life. [Elements of Geometry] by A.C Clairaut is the first geometry textbook based on the historico-genetic principle against the logico-deduction method of Euclid’s [Elements]. This paper aims to recognize Claraut’s historico-genetic principle by inquiring into this book and to search for its applications to junior high school geometry in mathematics. In addition, I suggest the two useful propositions which is following [Elements of Geometry] that may help to reach the purpose of the 7th Korean curriculum.
