話本小設 『연玉觀音』 硏究

Abstract

영문초록: p. 159-161|本稿는 宋代의 대표적인 話本小說로 손꼽히는《연옥관음》에 관한 硏究論文이다. 이 작품의 作者는 분명하게 드러나지 않고 있는데, 그것은《연옥관음》이 當時 說話의 底本을 근간으로 하여 창작되어진 通俗小說이기 때문이다. 즉 이 작품은 話本을 口演하던 說話人과 그 公演을 듣던 聽衆 그리고 그 공연물을 기록하고 윤색, 편집을 가했던 書會 先生 등이 함께 만들어낸 집단창작물이기 때문이었을 것이다. 《연옥관음》은 수를 놓는 官婢 신분의 秀秀와 옥을 조각하는 옥쟁이 崔寧의 비극적인 사랑이야기이다. 당시 사회에서 허용되지 못했던 자유연애를 통해 노비 신분에서 벗어나려고 했던 秀秀의 적극적이고 진취적인 사상이 애절하면서도 사실적으로 그려지고 있다. 《연옥관음》은 宋代 인기를 끌었던 민간기예인 說話중 하나였던 '小說'의 底本에서 시작되었다고 받아들여 지고 있다. 따라서 그 영향을 받아 다분히 通俗的이었으며 庶民的인 특성을 가질 수밖에 없었는데, 이는 당시 宋代 사회의 획기적인 발전에 발 맞춘 도시민들의 오락적인 수요를 기반으로 삼아야 하는 話本의 근본적인 특성에 기인한 것이다. 이러한 특성으로 인하여, 宋代를 대표하는 서민문화의 꽃이라 칭해지며 話本小說의 선두로 자리매김 할 수 있었던 《연옥관음》은 읽기 난해한 文言에서 탈피하고 일상적인 언어인 白話로 기록되었다. 특히 前代에 획일적으로 다루어지던 영웅적인 才子佳人類의 素材?【? 탈피하여 일반적인 小市民들을 주요 인물로 내세워 소소하면서도 곡절 있는 삶을 생생하게 그려냄으로써 당시 사회의 다양한 면면들을 사실적으로 반영해 내고 있다. 이러한 측면은 中國 寫實主義 文學에 기초를 마련해 주면서, 後代에까지 지대한 영향을 끼치게 된다. 또한 무엇보다도 이 작품은 형식상이나 내용상의 특징으로 미루어 볼 때, 초기 話本小說의 독특한 형태를 그대로 보여주고 있으며, 더불어 明·淸대 擬話本小說의 흥성에도 깊은 영향을 끼쳤다는 측면에서 中國 小說史 방면에서도 가치가 인정된다. 결론적으로 《연옥관음》은 中國 宋代 話本小說 가운데 가장 먼저 언급될 정도로 훌륭한 작품으로 인정받고 있다. 이는 작품 안에서 그려지고 있는 인물들의 현실적인 묘사와 생생하게 살아있는 일상 상투어를 활용한 감칠맛 나는 문장 구사력, 한시도 눈을 떼지 못하도록 하는 짜임새 있는 구성, 그리고 작품적 재미와 감상을 더욱 배가시키는 다양한 이야기 전개상의 요소들과 더불어 그 안에 심층적으로 스며있는 지배계층과 피지배계층의 각기 다른 사상의 대립 등으로 인한 作品이 가지는 개성적이고 참신한 특성으로 인한 것이다.|This thesis is the study on 《Nianyuguanyin(연옥관음)』a model Hua-pen(話本) Story of the Sung(宋) Dynasty period. First of all, the background of creation of 《Nianyuguanyin》is considered, because, it is a popular novel of SungDinesty period. The thoughts and message reflected in 《Nianyuguanyin》is focused on progressive thoughts of citizen, specially Xiuxiu(秀秀). Next, character in the work are considered by classifying characters into neutral character. Finally,《Nianyuguanyin》's art featured in a form and matter is cousidered. This work's writer is not clear, because it is written by origination in a folkstory, civil arts. That is, because this work will be creative writing of a group, which was made by the talkers who had been narrating orally Hua-pen, and the audience who had been listening co-acting, and the Shuhuixiansheng(書會先生) who had been writing the co-acting. 《Nianyuguanyin》is a tragic love story of Xiuxiu, a female servant who was sewing, and Cui-Ning(崔寧) who was carving a jade. This work really has been describing Xiuxiu's thoughts, which she tried to free herself from bondage as a free love. But that free love didn't have permitted in that time.《Nianyuguanyin》is considered that was started from the script of a popular "Xiaoshuo(小說)", civil arts, in Sung Dinesty period. So, it was influenced by those things, that really couldn't help being common and popular, because it was originated in basic characteristic of the Hua-pen, which it is had to originate in enjoy of the citizen, who follow growth of Sung Dinesty period's society. Because of these character,《Nianyuguanyin》 is called a flower of common culture. The language used in 《Nianyuguanyin》 is a Baihua(白話) of vernacular, which is escaped from a Wenyan(文言) of the ruling class. So, the language in a work is very fresh. Character description is excellent and truthful. Background is described realistic and in detail, personality description is also expressed in detail. Specially, it is very important meaning which is featuring various and realistic life, in detail, as nominating the humble classes in the work. 《Nianyuguanyin》give Chinese realism the basis, and has influence on later ages. Also, above all things, it is worthy in history of the Chinese literature that it has been expressing a unique shape of the early Hua-pen in a form and matter. In conclusion, 《Nianyuguanyin》 is evaluated that it's a good work of nominating the Chinese Hua-pen.
