형상의 분할과 조합을 통한 '내적 공간'의 시각적 표현 연구 : 본인의 작품을 중심으로

Abstract

본 논문은 1999년부터 2001년까지 본인의 대학원 과정동안 제작된 작품들을 대상으로 하여 그 속에 반영되어 있는 주요 내용과 표현방법을 주제적 요소, 조형적 요소, 기법적요소별로 연구 분석한 것이다. 현대사회는 산업의 발달로 대량 생산과 소비가 이루어지게 됨으로써 시장의 역할과 기능이 중요해졌으며 그러한 시장성은 사회적 관계를 목적에 의한 수단관계로 변화시켰다. 도시인들에게서 더욱 뚜렷이 나타나는 이러한 특성은 지나친 경쟁과 자기 이익만의 추구로 '나'와'너' 그리고 '우리' 사이의 끊임없는 갈등요인을 유발한다. 현대인들은 예전과는 비교도 안 될 물질적 풍요를 누리고 있고 많은 관계들 속에서 생활하고 있지만 사회에 제대로 적응하지 못하고 고독과 소외를 느끼며 불안과 갈등 속에서 살아가고 있다. 그들은 이러한 정신적 억압에서 벗어나 자신을 돌볼 수 있는 많은 휴식을 원하고 있으며 이러한 상황이 본인에게 내적 심상 속에 마음의 평온과 유희를 추구할 수 있게끔 하는 공간을 만드는 동기가 되었다. 본 논??에서는 본인의 작품에 대한 분석을 위해 제 1장에서는 주제 설정 배경과 '적응'의 의미를 인간관계에서의 적응으로 한정하고 여기에서 파생하는 여러 갈등을 현대사회가 가져다주는 병폐로 바라보는 한편 이를 탈피하기 위한 방법으로서 내적 공간의 설정 배경을 기술하였다. 2장에서는 조형적인 발상의 배경과 전개 방식에 관해 서술하였으며 3장에서는 사진과 컴퓨터를 이용한 기법적 요소를 다루었고, 마지막 장에서는 본인의 작품 사진을 제시하고 각각의 작품에 숨어있는 의도와 조형 요소 등을 구체적으로 설명하였다. 본 논문은 작품의 의도에서부터 시각화된 결과물로 나오기까지의 과정을 체계적으로 정립해 봄으로써 보다 객관적인 이해의 가능성을 구축하여 앞으로의 작업 활동에 발전적인 기틀을 마련하는 데 그 의의가 있다.|In this thesis, I study and analyze the concrete main contents and expression methods on my works manufactured during graduate courses from 1999 to 2001 in subjective, plastic and technical aspects. As the modern society requires mass production and mass consumption in consequence of the development of the industry, we set more importance on the role and the function of the market. The marketability makes all social relations be the means to attain the purposes. This tendency showed conspicuously by metropolitan causes ceaseless conflicts between 'you' and 'me' and among 'us' since they put much value on competitions and seek only for their own benefits. The moderns enjoy more material abundance and have more relations far beyond comparison with the past yet they are more anxious and confused feeling loneliness and alienation. As an effort to escape from these mental repressions, the moderns want various kinds of relaxations to look after themselves. Personally this situation motivates me to create my inner world to pursue spiritual peace and amusements. For better understanding on my works, in chapter 1, I define the adaptation in my view by the one to the human relations and conflicts occurred in these relations by social ills. The reason of choosing the subjects and the motivation of creating my own inner world to escape from the anxious mental states are studied as well. Chapter 2 covers backgrounds and developing methods of a plastic conception. In chapter 3, a technical aspect of using photos and computers is explained. In the consequence, I present photos of my works and add more detail explanations about them in chapter 4. Reviewing from my intension of works to the visualized results through this thesis, I could perceive my work world more subjectively and find the new mileposts for productive future work activities.
