현실과 초현실사이의 표현 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 2006년에서 2007년 사이에 제작된 본인의 작품들을 대상으로 하여 내용적 측면과 조형적 측면에 관해 연구한 것이다. 예술은 인간의 삶을 반영하는 산물로서 인간을 둘러싼 외부의 세계와 내부의 세계를 연결시켜주는 매개체이다. 본인은 이러한 예술과 인간의 밀접한 관계성을 바탕으로 시각예술을 통해 자아의 정체성을 탐구하고 내면세계를 표출함으로써 세상과의 타협점을 찾고 보다 긍정적인 자아상을 확립하고자 한다. 본 논문은 시각적 표현은 자아로부터 출발한다는 측면에서 먼저 자아의 일반적인 개념과 미술에서의 자아표현을 이론적 배경으로 제시하였다. 그리고 본인의 자아표현 방법도 작품을 통해 드러내는 것이며 그것은 반복적으로 이루어지는 자아의 형성과정임을 서술하였다. 또한 미술을 통한 표출은 현실에서 느끼는 갈등을 극복하고 내면을 치유하여 자신에 대한 긍정적인 자세를 회복시킨다는 점을 말하였다. 그럼으로써 자아의 내면세계와 외부세계의 연결을 위한 통로가 될 수 있음을 설명하였다. 이러한 내용을 바탕으로 작품에서는 자아가 꿈꾸는 이상세계를 표현하였으며, 이에 대한 소재의 선택과 의미에 있어서 성경 말씀에 근간을 두었고 일상의 오브제를 상징화하였음을 서술하였다. 앞에서 서술한 내용을 근거로 하여 본인의 작품에 관한 본격적인 고찰은 다음과 같다. 본인은 자아를 둘러싸고 있는 외부의 공간에 내면의 세계를 반영하고자 하였다. 그래서 일상의 공간과 오브제들을 결합하여 상상적 공간을 표현한 본인의 작품과 일상의 사물을 낯설게 함으로써 초현실적인 효과를 얻게 하는 마그리트의 데페이즈망을 비교하여 본인 작품의 조형적인 측면을 분석하였다. 또한 공간 구성에서 여백의 의미와 표현에 대해 설명하고, 내면을 반영한 색채의 상징적인 의미와 표현에 대해 서술하였다. 마지막으로 개별적인 에피소드와 내용 및 형식을 중심으로 본인의 작품을 분석하였다. 인간은 삶을 보다 풍요롭게 영위하기 위해서 미술이라는 도구를 적절하게 이용해 왔다. 미술이 나타내는 정신, 의식, 관념은 모두 실재하는 것들로 인간의 삶의 법칙성을 내재하고 있는 것이며 그것은 존재의 흔적이 되는 것이다. 그러므로 미술은 인간의 심상에 직접적으로 작용하여 내면의 숨겨진 존재까지도 드러나게 할 수 있는 것이다. 본인은 보이지 않는 자아의 흔적을 시각적인 표현을 통해 찾고자 하였고, 본 논문을 통해 본인의 생각을 구체적으로 정립하고자 하였으며 이를 통해 앞으로 더욱 발전적인 작품으로의 가능성을 모색하고자 하였다.|This thesis has researched into the contents and formative properties of the present author's works produced between 2006 and 2007. Art is a collection of products reflecting the life of human beings and a medium connecting the inner world of human beings to the external world. The present author aims to find out art's contact points with the world and establish the image of herself through visual art, based on the close relationship between art and human beings, while exploring the identity of herself and expressing her inner world. First of all, this thesis suggests as theoretical backgrounds a general concept of self and an expression of self in the fine arts, on the assumption that visual expressions start from self. It is also described that how the present author expresses herself is demonstrated in her works and is the repeated process in which the self is formed. Moreover, it is contended that expressions in the fine arts are a way to overcome the conflicts felt in the reality, cure for the inner self, and restore positive attitudes about the self; in this way, the expressions can be a channel connecting the inner world of self to the external world. Keeping what has been said in mind, the present author creates her works expressing the ideal world imagined by herself. The subject matters of the works and their significance are derived from the Bible and symbolize objects found in an everyday life. The followings are serious considerations about the present author's works. The author tries to project her inner world into the spaces of her external world. Then, comparison is made between the author's works and the depaysement of Rene Magritte in order to analyze the formative properties of the present author works. The former expresses imaginary spaces drawn from the combination of daily spaces and objects, and the latter estranges daily objects so as to brings sur-realistic effects on them. Explanations are also made about the significance and expression of margins in the formation of spaces and about the symbolic significance and expression of colors reflecting the inner self. Lastly, analyses are made of the present author's works, with a focus on individual episodes, contents, and forms. Human beings have properly used the fine arts for the purpose of leading a richer life. The spirit, consciousness, and concepts expressed in the fine arts are all real, comprise the laws of the life of human beings, and are the vestiges of their existence. Therefore, the fine arts can directly act on the mental images of human beings and reveal the existence hidden within the images as well. The present author makes efforts to identify the invisible vestiges of self with the help of visual expressions. This thesis has helped her concretely establish her own thoughts and find ways to produce more developmental works in the future.
