현대 음악교육에 미친 루소의 사상 : 초등교육과정을 중심으로

Abstract

논문은 18세기 자연주의 음악교육의 대표적 인물이라고 할 수 있는 루소(Jacques Rousseau, 1712-1778) 의 교육사상이 범애주의와 신인문주의 및 각국의 음악교육과 한국의 음악교육에 미친 영향을 고찰하였다. 18세기 계몽주의 시대에 「에밀」을 통하여 자연주의에 입각한 음악교육사상을 펼쳐 이후의 음악교육에 많은 영향을 주었다. 교육사상은 자연에 일치하는 교육으로 아동의 흥미나 본성을 존중하고 그것을 자유롭게 신장시키는 것을 근본이념으로 한다. 따라서 아동의 흥미와 직관에 의한 청각훈련의 중요성과 자연스런 가창지도, 창작교육을 강조하였고, 전인교육을 위한 음악교과의 가치를 인정하여 그 중요성을 역설하였다. 루소의 음악교육사상은 범애파에 의해 보다 대중적이고 구체적으로 적용되어 교회음악에서 벗어나 민요를 음악교재로 삼았고, 가창교육 외에 기악과 감상교육도 존중하여 근대 음악교육의 바탕이 되었으며, 19세기 초 신인문주의에도 많은 영향을 주어 음악교육의 기반을 구축하는데 큰 기여를 하였다. 음악교육사상은 페스탈로찌를 비롯한 네겔리, 파이훼르, 첼러, 달크로즈, 칼 오르프 등의 교육사상가의 교수방법에 많은 영향을 주었으며, 그들의 음악교육사상이 오늘날 학교교육에 적용되고 있는 것이다. 따라서 본 논문은 조화로운 인격형성을 위한 음악교육의 궁극적인 목적을 제시한 루소의 사상을 한국의 음악교육현실과 연관시켜 바람직한 초등음악교육의 방향을 제시해 보았다.|J. Rousseau, who asserted the naturalism education and Educational methods on his famous "Emile" at the 18th centry in the enlightenment periods has influenced on a lot of posterity and developed the educational methods which are child-center, individual-center, and activity-centered. His thought in education, it is said, naturalism, which should be about the spontaneous development of humanity based on the nature. It means that the education should be child-center and experience-center, which is based on the living of children. Besides, his musical education stands for the ground of naturalism, which means the free disclosure of child's creativity. His thought, educational philosophy of Naturalism, was succeeded to philanthropism and neo-humanism. The content of it was predominantly composed of talk songs and playing musical instruments. Neo-humanism inherited the characteristics form Pestalozz's thought which emphasized the importance of musical education, especially popularized music education, as a means to cultivate children's character. Also, Pestaoozzi s thought was applied to the theory of musical education by Nageli, Pfeiffer and zeller. Today, Ruckin, Crane and Thomascik put it into the activity of music education toward popularization. The recent music education in Korea pursues esthetic music education through extensive experience, music education to improve creativity and popular or equal music education with children's ability on the basis of Rousseau's thought.
