한국 대중음악의 지도방안 연구 -7차 교육과정 고등학교 교과서를 중심으로

Abstract

음악은 우리의 삶을 풍요롭게 해주고, 때로는 힘든 삶을 위로해주며 용기를 준다. 이는 음악이 우리의 삶에 영향을 주며 생활 속에 있는 것임을 의미한다. 따라서 학교에서의 음악 교육은 이론이나 지식이 아니라 삶과 연관되며 직접 누릴 수 있는 것이 되어야 한다. 현재의 청소년들은 매스미디어의 발달로 인해 대부분의 정보를 매스컴을 통해 접하고 흡수하는 세대이다. 물론 음악의 경우도 예외는 아니다. 청소년들의 매스컴 접촉은 어린 시절부터 꾸준히 이루어지며 청소년들은 이를 통해 흡수한 대중음악에 이미 익숙해져 있다. 그들이 누리고 감동을 받는 음악이 대중음악이라면 교육에 있어서 대중음악의 가치는 재고되어야 한다는 움직임이 있었고 교과서의 대중음악의 수는 점차 증가하는 있는 추세이다. 하지만 실제 교과서의 대중음악이 큰 비중을 차지하고 있지 못하며 지도안 연구 미비나 수업일수의 부족 등의 이유로 수업현장에서는 거의 사용되지 않고 있는 것이 현실이다. 그리하여 본 논문의 주제 설정은 점점 학교 음악 수업에 흥미를 잃어가는 학생들에게 그들이 좋아하고 익숙해져있는 한국 대중음악을 활용하여 다양한 활동의 계기를 마련해주고 음악을 내면화할 수 있는 동기를 부여하자는 목적으로 시작되었으며 내용은 다음과 같이 요약될 수 있다. 첫째, 교육과정과 대중음악의 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 고등학교 음악 교과서 8종과 음악과 생활 2종에 수록된 한국 대중음악의 내용을 분석한다. 둘째, 교사용 지도서에 나와 있는 한국 대중음악 지도안의 유형을 분석한다. 셋째, 현직교사의 한국 대중음악 지도현황을 알아보기 위하여 인터뷰를 하였다. 넷째, 지도안의 유형과 현직교사의 지도현황 결과 내용을 토대로 여러 가지 활용방안을 제시하였다. 교과서 수록된 대중음악의 내용을 분석한 결과 양적인 증가는 있었지만 한국 대중음악은 대부분이 참고곡이나 관련악곡으로 사용되었다. 그리고 영화음악이나 뮤지컬음악은 외국의 것이 많이 수록된 것에 반해 한국 창작 뮤지컬은 소홀히 다루어져 있었다. 그리고 교사용 지도서에 나와 있는 한국 대중음악의 지도안의 유형은 7가지로, ①한국 대중음악의 역사를 알아보기, ② 생활 속에서 즐겨 부를 수 있는 노래, ③ 영화에서의 음악의 역할 알기, ④ 편곡한 곡과 원곡과의 비교, ⑤ 사회적인 문제와 연관하여 생각해보기, ⑥ 다양한 악곡 비교, ⑦ 기타 반주에 맞추어 노래하기가 있었다. 그리고 학교 음악교육에서 한국 대중음악의 지도 현황을 알아보기 위한 현직 교사 인터뷰 결과는 대부분의 교사들이 지도안을 참고하지 않고, 한국 대중음악에 대해 잘 알지 못하기 때문에 그냥 단순히 한번 불러보는 정도의 수업만 하고 있는 정도라고 하였다. 그리하여 대중음악에 대한 교사들의 연수와 반주악보의 보강 등을 발전방안을 제시하였다. 교사용 지도서에 나와 있는 7가지 유형과 현직 교사 인터뷰의 내용을 토대로 10학년을 대상으로 하는 한국 대중음악 수업 지도안을 제시해보았다. 가창수업위주의 한국 대중음악수업에서 더욱 학생들이 적극적으로 참여할 수 있도록 활용방법을 제시하였다. 생활 속의 음악으로서 한국 대중음악의 가치를 알고 학교 수업시간에도 학생들에게 흥미를 줄 수 있고 쉽게 이해할 수 있는 한국 대중음악의 여러 가지 활동에 의한 활용방법들이 더욱 많이 연구되어서 교육현장에서 많이 활용되기를 기대한다.|Music makes our lives rich, sometimes comforts and encourages ourselves. It means that music influences our lives and becomes a part of our lives. Therefore, the music education in school should be emphasized in terms of relation with real lives and enjoyment rather than theory or knowledge. With development of mass media, teenagers at the present time can access and obtain most information through the mass communication. Music is not exceptional. Continuing to approach mass communication from their early age, teenagers have been already familiar to popular music. There have been several suggestions that the value of popular music in education had to be reconsidered if it was the most impressive genre to teenagers. Moreover, the number of popular music in textbooks is increasing. However, the proportion of popular music in textbooks is limited and, for the insufficient study of teaching plan and lack of the number of schooldays, the popular music is hardly used in class practically. Therefore, this paper is aimed at giving the students, who lose interest in music class at the school, a chance of various activities and motivating them to internalize music by using the Korean popular music. The details are as follows. First, analyzing the contents of Korean popular music carried in 8 highschool music textbooks and 2 Music and Life textbooks, based on the theoretical background of the curriculum and popular music. Second, analyzing the types of Korean popular music's teaching plans appeared in the teacher's manual. Third, interviewing the incumbent teachers to understand the condition of instructing Korean popular music. Fourth, suggesting several practical using ways based on the results from researching the types of teaching plans and the instructing condition of the incumbent teachers. According to analyzing the contents of popular music contained in textbooks, most Korea popular music is used as reference music or related composition despite its quantitative increase in the textbooks. Besides, the Korean original musicals are dealt with disregard while the music of foreign film or musical is carried variously. The teaching plans of Korean popular music written in the teacher's manual have seven types including ① researching the history of Korean popular music, ② finding enjoyable songs to sing, ③ understanding the role of music in the films, ④ comparing the arranged piece with the original one, ⑤ considering Korean popular music in connection with the social problem, ⑥ comparing various musical compositions, ⑦ singing to guitar accompaniment. The interview with the incumbent teachers to find the condition of instructing Korean popular music in the Korean music education reveals that most teachers don't consult the teaching plans and they just instruct students to sing the songs, due to little understanding of Korean popular music. Thereupon, this paper proposes promising plans such as the popular music training for teachers and reinforcement of musical notes for accompaniment. Finally, based on the seven types appeared in the teacher's manual and the interview with teachers, the teaching plan of Korean popular music for the 10th grade is suggested. It includes the ways to make students positively participate in Korean popular music class which has stressed on singing. It is expected that more practical ways concerned with Korean popular music are applied in education frontline to let the students know its value, and give them interest and easy comprehension about it in the class
