하늘과 구름에 관한 시각 이미지 표현 연구 : 본인의 작품을 중심으로

Abstract

본 논문은 2001년부터 2003년 석사학위 청구전까지의 작업들을 중심으로 그에 기초하는 이론적 배경과 제작에 있어서 수반된 조형원리 및 방법 등을 종합한 것으로, 무한한 세계로써의 대자연과 유한한 존재로서의 자아와의 교감(交感)이라는 정서적인 경험을 바탕으로 하여 우리의 삶에 친숙한 대상인 하늘과 구름이라는 소재를 시각화한 것이다. 오늘날 각박한 현대 문명의 이기(利器)속에서 수많은 제약과 규격화된 일상의 틀 안에 ?ㅗ薦獵? 현대인들에게 하늘과 구름은 그 자체만으로도 동경의 대상이 될 수 있다. 하늘이 가지는 원초성과 무한한 공간성이 도시화에 찌든 사람들에게 시각을 통한 정신적 여유를 제공할 수 있기 때문이다. 즉, 본 논문의 작품 속에 보이는 공간은 한정된 풍경의 일부가 아니라 가시거리 밖으로까지 확산되는 무한의 공간을 의미하며, 하늘과 구름의 이미지는 인식으로는 결코 다가설 수 없는 존재로, 틀에 갇혀 있는 대상이 아니라 끝없이 자유로운 인간의 내면을 표현하고 있다. 이러한 하늘과 구름에서 느끼는 감동을 내적인 심상(心象)의 이미지와 연결하여 서정적으로 해석하고 그것을 새로운 표현기법으로 묘사하고자 하였다. 먼저 작품 제작을 위한 표현에 있어서는 우연성에 의한 내면세계의 표출에 관심을 갖고, 재료가 가진 우연적 효과와 함께 의도적인 우연성을 연구하였다. 또한 커피의 번짐에 의해 형성된 자율적인 선의 움직임은 무한한 공간 속에서 자연적 이미지로써의 역할을 갖게 된다. 이처럼 섬유와 커피라는 표현매체는 자신이 나타내고자 하는 하늘과 구름 이미지의 표현에 적합하며 어느 측면에서는 표현매체의 자율성을 강조하는데 상승효과를 주고 있다. 그러므로 커피?? 특성을 이용한 자율적인 선의 조형성을 표현하기 위한 번지기 방법에 좀 더 지속적이고 많은 연구를 하여 창의적이고 독창적인 조형세계를 추구해 나가고자 한다. 이와 같이 본 논문은 창작의 경험을 통해 그것을 이론적으로 분석해 보는 과정 속에서 진정한 '나' 자신의 내면을 들여다 볼 수 있는 기회를 가짐으로써 좀 더 넓은 시각과 열린 마음으로 세상을 향해 한 걸음 더 나아갈 수 있는 계기가 되었다. 본 연구자는 이러한 과정을 거쳐 현재의 작품 세계를 정리해 보고 동시에 앞으로 나아갈 방향을 가늠해 보고자 하는 바이다.|The present paper is comprehensively composed of formative principle, method and the like involved in theoretical background and production that are the bases of my artworks before submission of paper for the master's degree. The artworks made during my two years of graduate school days are intended to visualize the sky and the cloud that are friendly objects of our everyday life based on the Mighty nature of absolute world and aesthetic experience that is a rapport with self of a finite being. The sky and the cloud per se can be yearning objects for people of modern days who are entrapped in numerous restrictions and standardized routine frames under harsh modern conveniences. It is because the sky having basic originality and infinite spatiality can provide the urbanization-laden people with spiritual allowance through sense of sight. The space seen in my artworks is not a part of a restricted landscape but defines an infinite space extended into outside of our visibility range, and images of sky and cloud that are never to be accessible in our cognition are not frame-bound objects, but expression of human being's infinite and free inner life. I have tried to connect the impression felt through the sky and the cloud thus described to an inner mental image for lyrical interpretation and to simultaneously portray same in a new expressive technique. First of all, a study has been made on intentional fortuity along with a fortuitous effect intrinsically contained in material with a keen interest in expressing the inner world in expressed production of my artworks. Furthermore, the self-regulating movement of lines formed by coffee spreads functions as a natural image in the sky-is-the-limit space. To me, the expressive media herein referred to as fabric and coffee are adequate and proper in expressing the sky and cloud, and concurrently give rise to a synergistic effect in emphasizing the spontaneity of expressive media to some extent. I will try to continuously pursue more on the spreading technique in order to express the formation of spontaneous lines utilizing the characteristics of coffee such that creative and innovative formation world can be further advanced. The paper has provided me an opportunity of seeing an inner side of my real self in the course of theoretically analyzing the experience of working on my humble artworks. The paper has also rendered me a moment of going one step forward towards the world with a wider point of view and an open mind-set. Through the paper thus prepared, I may be able to arrange my present world of artworks and weigh the futuristic direction to go ahead.
