페미니즘에 관한 작품 표현연구 : 염색작품 중심으로

Abstract

시대와 상황에 따라 모습과 형태가 점차 변하여 온 결혼은 인류의 시작과 더불어 필요와 요구, 충족을 위하여 시대와 상황에 맞춰 적절한 상호관계를 유지하여 왔다. 이는 보편적 관습이며 포괄적(包括的) 생활의 한 단편이라고 볼 수 있다. 그러나 시대별, 나라별, 연령별, 성별의 차이점에도 불구하고 우리는 결혼에 관한 보편화된 가치기준에 의해 무심히 지나쳐 버리거나 획일화된 사회적 가치기준, 인습에 매여 배타적이기 쉬운 모순점을 지니고 있다. 결혼이 단순한 종족 보존과 번식을 위한 과정으로 인식되었던 농경사회 이후 노동력 확보라는 차원의 개념에서 탈피하여 집단적 이익추구이기보다 개개인의 삶에 있어서 가치기준과 삶의 질적 향상을 중요시하게 되면서 과거의 개념과는 다른 차이점을 보여주게 된 것이다. 사회구성원들 간의 의식구조의 변화는 산업화 이후의 가족구조의 다양화와 가족제도의 변화를 가져왔고 여성의 역할 또한 과거의 가부장적 제도하의 여성의 위치와는 차이를 보여주게 되었다. 여성의 사회진출이 보편화됨에 따라 남성에 의한 가족구성 내(內)의 종속적 개념이 아닌 독립적이며 동등한 관계 속에서 본인의 의사(意思)에 의하여 결혼을 선택할 수 있게 되었고 이러한 사회적 변화는 결혼의 형태나 구조에도 큰 변화를 가져오게 했다. 또한 과거로부터 이어?? 온 가족구성의 모습도 서로 다른 환경 속에서 성장한 남녀가 부부가 되어 가족을 이루며 함께 산다는 보편적 의미보다 개인적이고 주관적인 사고에 의해 가족 생활양식을 선택한 것이 오늘날의 다양한 가족구조를 이루게 하였고 과거에 절대시 되어오던 부계제도(父系制度) 중심의 결혼에 대한 가치관이나 개념들을 오늘날에 맞는 결혼의 형태와 구조로 재해석하여야 할 필요성에 대한 논의가 제기(提起) 되어감에 따라 제도적으로도 바뀌어가고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문에서는 포괄적 다양함을 지닌 결혼이 사회적, 시대적 상황에 따라 변화되는 과정과 전통적 규범에 맞추어 획일화되어 온 가치기준 및 인습에 대하여 살펴보고, 더 나아가 여성의 시각으로 바라 본 과거의 결혼과 오늘날의 결혼에 대한 차이점을 비교, 분석하는 한편 인간 내면세계에 잠재되어 있는 심리적 갈등과 삶 속에서 억압된 감정 및 의식(意識)의 흐름을 우리 주변에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 열쇠와 자물쇠가 지니는 객관적 의미와 연결하여 결혼에 담겨져 있는 의미를 연구자의 주관적인 해석으로 상징화하여 염색작업을 통해 표현하고자 하였다.|The forms and the meanings of marriage between husband and wife have changed over the time in human history. As the civilization develops, marriage as the foundation of family came into existence in a variety of forms. In modern times, marriage has been regarded as an essential part of human life. Despite of the differing concepts of marriage over time, people today tend to accept it as an immutable, universal and non-controversial human custom. They frequently overlook the fact that the marriage in human history has taken various forms and meanings according to the times and cultures. They, in an unreasonably uniform and standardized format, simply think of it as a given custom in human life. As a matter of fact, the meaning of marriage has changed, for example, from a simple sexual union for the preservation of the tribe and/or the human reproduction to the more individualized and modernized concept of enriching human life. With the changes in the conception on marriage among the people of the industrial age, the family structure and the institution have also been altered. Women's social position and their roles in families have undergone critical changes. As more women have come to play active roles in the society, the position of women have also become more equal to those of their husbands. Women are no longer subordinate to their husbands. They have become more independent and can choose to get married at their own will. Such social changes have given rise to the changes in the form and structure of marriage. The shift in conceptions on marriage have taken place along with the changes in the perceptions on the family life and also in the structure of family. The past concept of the family had emphasized simply on the union of husband and wife at its face value. Today, however, the formation of the family and marriage is conceived through more varied viewpoints. People today choose to get married and to form families with more individualistic and subjective views. The traditional concept of marriage as a tool for the maintenance of the patriarchial family line is being newly construed reflecting the diversified value system among people. The institutional aspects of marriage are also undergoing changes together with those in conceptions among people. Drawing upon the above discussions and analyses, the researcher tries to provide with a highly subjective interpretation of the marriage in association with the objective meaning of the keys and locks. The dyeing work expresses and reflects the researcher's subjective interpretation of marriage as an ever changing human custom in terms of its meaning and social consequences.
