파괴본능으로 표현된 자아 이미지 연구 -본인의 작품을 중심으로-

Abstract

이 논문은 2004년부터 2005년 사이에 작업한 본인의 작품들 중 2005년 2월에 가진 개인전 작품을 대상으로 본인이 표현하고자 했던 내용과 형식에 대해 분석한 것이다. 본 연구의 관심은 실존하는 본인의 삶에 진정한 의미를 찾기 위해서 시작된다. 실존 철학자들은 죽음을 실존적으로 체득, 그것을 삶 속으로 끌어들일 것을 권한다. 그리고 죽음을 일으키는 충격과 진동을 있는 그대로 체험, 그것으로부터 삶의 힘과 존재 의미를 드러내야 한다고 말한다. 본인은 어렸을 때부터 자살미수의 경험이 많았으며, 성인이 되어서도 치유되지 않는 상처로 남아, 여전히 그 충동에서 벗어나질 못하고, 이는 본인이 행하는 예술 작품으로 드러난다. 작품을 통해서 드러내는 본질은 경험을 통해 형성된 죽음에 대한 표상이 삶에 어떠한 영향을 끼치며, 프로이트(Freud Sigmund 1856~1939)가 말한 죽음의 본능(Thanatos, 그리스어로 죽음을 의미한다)이라는 죽음 충동에 의한 자기 파괴성의 표현을 이끌어내는 것이 본인작품의 기반을 이루고 있다. 죽음의 본능에 대하여 프로이트는 태어날 때부터 존재하는 것이며, 인간과 동물의 모든 유기체는 잠재적으로 생명이 소멸되게 만드는 죽음에의 욕망이라고 말한다. 개인의 삶, 의식, 사랑, 창조의 욕망 그리고 파괴의 욕망은 서로 생산하며 지탱한다. 삶, 그것은 삶 속에 있는 죽음과의 싸움이라고 한다. 본인의 죽음과의 싸움은 스스로 자신을 파괴하고 공격하고 해체한다. 또한 경험에서 오는 죽음이란 한계상황은 궁극적으로 삶의 힘을 획득하기 위함이다. 본 연구의 목적은 죽음의 충동에 의한 자아의 공격성과 파괴성에 대해 심리적 차원에서 끌어내어 논의하며, 경험에 의한 죽음의 한계상황에 대해 논의하며, 이것을 이미지로 표출하여 형상화하고, 내부세계를 조형언어로 가시화 시키는 데 있다.|This study analyzed the contents and forms I wanted to express through works on a private exhibition in February 2005 among my works from 2004 to 2005. The study begins with pursuing the true meaning of my existing life. Existential philosophers recommend us to experience death existentially and take it into our life. And they also say that we need to experience shock and vibration causing death as it is and to reveal the power and meaning for being from it. I have many experiences of attempted suicides. They are left as incurableinjury even after I grew up and I am not still free from the impulse. It appears in my own works. The essence appeared through my works is how the idea of death formed through own experience influences life. And the basis of my work is to elicit the expression of self destructive by death impulse that Freud Sigmund (1856~1939) called it the instinct of death (Thanatos, it means death in Greek). Freud suggest that we have the instinct of death from birth and all organisms such as human being and animal are potentially the desire of death which finally leads to extinction of life. Individual’s life, consciousness, love, desire of creation and desire of destruction produce and support with each other. They say life is a fight against death within life. My fight against death destroys, attacks and dismantles myself. Also a critical situation, so called the death coming from experience, is ultimately for accomplishing power of life. The purposes of the current study are to discuss aggressiveness and destructiveness of self by death impulse with taking it out from psychological dimension, to discuss human’s critical situation by experience, to form this by expressing with image, and to visualize interior world as formative language.
