텍스트와 이미지를 통한 회화 연구

Abstract

Based on the researcher’s own work, this paper seeks to study painting through the relationship between text and imagery. The researcher has written both poems and novels, and as she transfers her writings to artworks, she contemplates the relationship between script and images. The researcher believes that painting lies in the middle of text and images, and that based on this assumption, she views, observes, and paints pictures of life. Within regards to the researcher’s own thoughts, the researcher tries to create artwork while thinking about the boundaries that lie between novels, text and images. These experiments involve writing novels and painting at the same time. She also tries to separate the two in order to find their corresponding interrelationships. The researcher’s prose is composed by collecting fragments of one’s intimate stories. In some cases, the reason for existence, social phenomena, and personal stories that transpire around the researcher inevitably become the contents of her work. Through metaphors, analogies, and her own intuition the researcher attempts to unravel everything in life; life’s moments, the meaning of existence, etc. The researcher records and systematizes language, constructs fiction, poetry, and other stories, and then replaces these materials with paintings and imagery. Painting is the product of creation as well as both fiction and poetry. People converse, are created, think, and behave in accordance with language. However, people can feel more real in a fictional world because fiction is not directly controlled by one’s reality. From 2016 to 2019, I wanted to present my thoughts in regards to the content I am trying to establish and how to approach the expressions in which I want to convey. |본 논문은 본인 작품을 바탕으로 텍스트와 이미지의 관계를 통한 회화 연구를 하고자 한다. 연구자는 시와 소설을 써왔으며, 글을 회화 작업에 옮기면서 글과 이미지의 관계를 통해 회화를 고찰하게 된다. 연구자는 회화가 텍스트와 이미지의 중간에 놓여있고, 연구자는 이 가정을 토대로 삶을 관조, 관찰 하고 회화를 그려나간다고 여긴다. 연구자의 생각을 바탕으로 연구자 창작물들은 소설, 텍스트와 이미지의 경계 속에 놓여 있다고 생각하며 작업을 시도한다. 이러한 실험은 소설을 쓰는 과정과 그림을 그리는 과정을 동시에 해보기도 하고. 분리하여 진행해보기도 하며 상호관계를 알아본다. 연구자의 산문 글은 누군가의 밀접한 이야기들의 파편을 가져와서 쓴다. 때로는 존재 이유, 사회적인 현상, 주변에서 일어나는 개인적인 이야기 등이 작업의 내용이다. 살아가는 모든 것, 순간, 존재의 의미 등을 비유와 은유 혹은 직관을 통해 풀어내고자한다. 연구자는 언어들을 기록하고 체계화하며 허구로 소설, 시 등 다양한 이야기를 구축하고 이러한 지점을 회화, 이미지로 치환을 한다. 회화는 창작의 산물이다, 소설과 시 역시 마찬가지다. 사람들은 언어로 대화하고 만들어지며 생각하고 행동한다. 그러나 그 허구는 정말 현실에 기인하지 않은 것은 아니기 때문에 사람들은 그 허구의 세계에서 진짜처럼 느끼는 것이다. 2016년에서 2019까지 어떤 내용을 정립하려 하는지, 어떤 표현으로 다가가야 하는지에 대한 고찰을 보여주고자 한다.
