탱고음악의 역사와 피아졸라 《르 그랑 탱고》 (Le grand Tango) 작품 분석 연구

Abstract

아스토르 피아졸라(Astor Piazzolla, 1921~1992)는 아르헨티나의 음악가하면 떠오르는 대표적인 작곡가이자 반도네온 연주자로 1950년 침체기에 있던 탱고(Tango)를 혁신적이고 실험적으로 큰 반향을 일으킨 음악가이다. 그는 탱고음악을 그저 춤을 추는 음악이 아닌 청중들을 위한 감상 음악으로 만들겠다며 자신의 탱고를 '누에보 탱고’(Nuevo Tango)라 부르게 했다. 그는 그 당시 파격적이고 진보적인 음악적 시각으로 기존의 탱고음악을 발전시키는데 큰 업적을 끼쳤다. 이처럼 피아졸라의 음악은 탱고의 전반에 역사적인 영향을 끼쳤고, 새로운 변화를 일으켰다. 또한, 그의 음악은 아르헨티나의 민속 음악을 시대의 상황에서 발전시켰다는 것에도 의의가 있다. 그는 전통적인 탱고음악에 클래식의 요소뿐만 아니라 재즈까지도 결합시키면서 새로운 음악적 특징들을 살린 작품들을 남겼다. 본 논문은 그러한 피아졸라의 곡 중 첼로와 피아노를 위하여 작곡 되어진 작품《르 그랑 탱고》(Le grand Tango)를 분석하고자 쓰여졌다. 그의 음악에 대해 알아보기 위해 탱고음악의 역사부터 시작하여 탱고음악의 특징, 피아졸라의 생애, 그의 다른 작품들에 대해서도 살펴본다. 이러한 이론적 내용들을 배경으로 피아졸라《르 그랑 탱고》를 분석했다. 이 곡은 단악장의 곡으로 1982년 작곡되었지만 본 연구자는 고전 시대 곡들의 분류 방식에 따라 부분을 나누어 분석해 보았다. |Astor Piazzolla (1921–1992) was an Argentine composer and bandoneonist who had an innovative and experimental impact on Tango during the 1950s downturn. He called his tango Nuevo Tango, saying that he would make tango music for the audience, not just dance music. He made great achievements in developing traditional tango music with an unconventional and progressive musical perspective at the time. As such, Piagola's music had a historical impact on the tango as a whole, creating a new change. It is meaningful that Argentine folk music was developed in the context of the times. He left works that brought new musical characteristics to life by combining classical elements as well as jazz to traditional tango music. This paper was written to analyze 'Le Grand Tango' composed for cello and piano among such Piazzola's songs. To learn about his music, we will start with the history of tango music, the characteristics of tango music, and his other works from Piazola's life, and then study his work.
