타자에 대한 시선과 감정 덩어리 표현 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 2019년부터 2023년까지 제작한 본인 작품을 대상으로 작품의 형식과 표현 의도를 밝히고, 인간으로 사회에 살아가며 만나게 되는 타자와 그를 바라보는 시선을 연구하며 파생되는 감정을 이론적으로 분석해 본인 작품과의 관련성을 서술한 논문이다. 본인은 인간으로서 다른 인간을 바라보며 각각 분리된 개인이 아닌 감정을 바탕으로 공감 가능하다는 것을 느낀다. 나와 연결된 타자와의 관계에서 우리는 사회를 경험하고 이는 나에게 한정된 것이 아니라 거미줄처럼 뻗어있음을 알 수 있다. 나를 주체로 세상을 바라보지만, 사람은 모두 각자가 주체가 된 세상을 살아간다. 이는 사람의 수만큼 수많은 세상이 존재함을 암시한다. 하여 본인은 자신과 직접적인 타자를 넘어 이 세상에 살아가는 타자 모두를 존중하는 시선을 담아 작품으로 발현한다. 본인에게 작품은 타자와 연결되는 매개체이며 이를 토대로 세상과 소통하고 타자를 마주하는 공간이 된다. 작품 속 타자에게 느끼는 본인의 감정 변화를 주목하고 표현하지만, 감상자는 본인과 다른 감정을 느끼며 작품에 표현된 감정이 또 다른 파장으로 이어진다. 이렇듯 감정의 창구로 작용하는 작품의 형태를 시기에 맞추어 순차적으로 서술하였으며, 시각적 표현 방식 또한 어떻게 변화하는지 살펴보았다. 더불어 작품에 담긴 감정을 덩어리로 칭함으로써 단편적 현상이 아닌 뒤섞인 응어리로 바라본 본인의 관점을 정의하였다. 작품에 담기는 것은 타자의 형상을 통한 본인의 거울과도 같은 존재이지만 이를 본 감상자는 다른 감정으로 귀결되며 결국 작품은 제작자인 본인을 포함한 마주한 자의 감정 변화를 일으키는 의의가 있다. 본 논문의 연구를 바탕으로 작품이 갖는 의미를 되짚어보며 타자와의 감정 교류에 발판이 될 수 있는 방향으로 발전시키고자 한다.|This paper examines the form and expressive intent of my works produced from 2019 to 2023, and theoretically analyzes the emotions derived from studying the others and the perspectives on them that I encounter while living in society as a human being, and describes the relevance of my works. As a human being, I feel that I can empathize with other humans based on emotions, not as separate individuals. In the relationship with others connected to me, we experience society, and we can see that this is not limited to me, but spreads out like a spider web. I look at the world as the subject, but each person lives in a world where they are the subject. This implies that there are as many worlds as there are people. Therefore, I express my works with a perspective that respects all others living in this world beyond myself and direct others. To me, my works are a medium that connects me to others, and based on this, they become a space for communicating with the world and facing others. I pay attention to and express the changes in my emotions toward others in my works, but the viewer feels emotions different from me, and the emotions expressed in my works lead to another wave. In this way, I sequentially describe the form of my works that serve as a window for emotions according to time, and I examine how the visual expression method also changes. In addition, by referring to the emotions contained in the work as a lump, I defined my own perspective as a mixed lump rather than a fragmentary phenomenon. What is contained in the work is like a mirror of myself through the figure of the other, but the viewer who sees it ends up with a different emotion, and ultimately, the work has the meaning of causing emotional changes in those who encounter it, including myself as the creator. Based on the research of this thesis, I will look back on the meaning of the work and try to develop it in a direction that can become a foundation for emotional exchange with others.
