클래식 성악 발성 이론에 기초한 실용 음악 발성 비교 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 우리나라 실용 음악 보컬 지도 현장에서 비과학적이고 통일 되지 않은 발성 용어들로 인해 가창 지도 시에 발생하는 문제점들을 규명하고 클래식 발성과 실용 음악 발성 이론을 비교 연구하여 현재 실용 음악 교육 현장에서 혼돈되어 사용되고 있는 발성 용어들을 재정립하고 실용 음악 가창 지도에 도움을 주고자 한다. 대중음악은 모든 사람이 즐기는 가장 보편적인 문화의 한 장르이다. 다양한 대중음악의 가창 방법을 최근에 많이 활용되고 널리 사용되고 있는 실용 음악 교재들을 위주로 클래식 전통 성악 발성 이론을 기초로 하여 비교 분석하고 발성 이론의 차이점을 알아본다. 클래식 성악 발성법에서는 보다 폭넓은 양질의 음성을 얻기 위해 우리 신체의 각 공명부위를 효과적으로 활용하는 발성법을 사용하고, 실용 음악 발성법에서는 공명보다는 음색을 중요시하기에 마이크에 잘 적응 될 수 있는 발성을 한다. 그러나 실용 음악 발성 이론에 있어서 추상적인 용어의 사용을 남용함으로 인한 문제점을 보게 된다. 예를 들자면, '공명'을 설명할 때 공진인지 공명강인지 구분이 확실치 않아 공진을 공명강이라 표현하는 발성 이론의 설명이 그 예이다. 또한 '가성', '진성', '두성'에 용어 설명에 있어서도 책마다 다른 용어 설명을 하고 있다. 따라서 실용 음악 교재 안에 설명된 발성 이론의 문제점들을 알아보고 발성 문제들을 해결하기 위하여 기초적인 클래식 발성의 가창 지도 이론들을 제시하였고, 자세, 호흡, 성대, 공명 4가지로 분류하여 클래식 성악 발성과 비교하고 연구하였다. 이 논문의 목적은 다양한 실용 음악 발성 교재에 실린 가창 이론의 문제점들을 알아보고 정리 비교하여 가창 지도를 함에 있어 도움을 주고자 한다.| This study was prompted by the fact that vocal training of applied music, which lacks scientific or standardized terminology, and thus exposed to some problems, has several aspects in common with that of classical music. Therefore, in order to help develop preferable instruction methods in vocalization, this thesis compares the vocalizing theories of classical and applied music, and redefines the terminology. Popular music is one of the most common culture that many people enjoy, and it accepts the popular culture in various ways. In this study, the vocalization of this constantly changing and widely being experienced popular music is compared with the vocalization of classical music, based on the vocalizing theory of classical music and some generally used textbooks of applied music. In order to achieve a voice that is broad and also of good quality, the knowledge about the body parts that participate in providing preferable resonance to the voice is applied to classical vocalization. On the contrary, in applied music, the training involves microphone, for timbre has more importance than resonance. However, because too much emphasize is placed upon timbre, the terminology of applied music vocalization is rather abstract. For instance, when describing ‘resonance,’ it is difficult to distinguish between ‘sympathetic vibration’ and ‘resonance cavity.’ Moreover, when explaining ‘falsetto,’ ‘natural voice,’ and ‘head voice,’ the books use different vocabulary. Although vocalization of classical music and applied music have some theories in common, it is still possible that these inaccurate terminology and definitions can bring about many confusions. Therefore, this thesis examines such problems, suggests some basic instruction theories of classical vocalization, and compares the two kinds of vocalization according to posture, breathing, vocal cord, and resonance. To understand and interpret contemporary applied music, it is necessary to reorganize the vocalizing theory of applied music based on classical music theory, which is in itself based on phonetics. Finally, the purpose of this thesis is to help improve the instruction methods in vocal training through observing the problems in vocalizing theory of popular music, comparing the various textbooks of applied music vocalization, examining the difference between the two kinds of vocalization, and redefining the terminology.
