初等學校 科學 特技·適性 敎育活動 實態 分析과 改善 方案 硏究

Abstract

영문초록: p. 52-54|초등학교 과학 교육을 통해 과학적 사고력과 창의적으로 문제를 해결하는 능력을 기를 수 있도록 학교에서 그 바탕을 이루어 나가야 하고 과학을 다양하게 체험할 수 있는 여건을 조성해 주는 일은 매우 중요하다. 그에 따라 일선 교육현장에서 정규 수업이 끝난 후 유휴 시설을 활용한 수요자 중심의 학습체제인 '특기·적성 교육 활동'을 활성화하여 실시하고 있다. 이것은 최소한의 경비로 학생들에게 다양한 형태의 교육을 제공하는 교육 개혁적 프로그램이다. 이에 본 연구는 초등학교 특기·적성 교육 활동 중 과학 관련 활동 부서의 현 실태를 조사 진단하고 보다 효율적인 운영 방안과 개선 방향을 모색하는데 목적을 두었다. 연구방법은 경기도 평택·안성시 소재 초등학교 중 과학 관련 특기·적성 교육활동을 실시하고 있는 22개교의 업무 담당 교사와 과학 부서 지도 강사를 대상으로 질문법으로 조사하여 그 운영 현황과 문제점, 개선 방안을 조사 분석하였다. 초등학교에서 특기·적성 교육 활동을 운영하는데 있어서 나타나는 운영현황은 다음과 같다. 과학실 전용 특별실이 거의 없어 저학년 일반 교실을 쓰고 있으며 개인 실험기구나 기자재가 확보되지 않아 수강에 어려움이 있다. 여름철과 겨울철에는 냉·난방 시설이 가동되고 있지 않다. 또한, 정부 지원금의 부족으로 폐강되거나 인원수가 줄어 운영에 차질이 있으며 학생 관리가 잘 되지 않아 교육활동에 지장을 준다. 또한 한 반의 인원수가 많아 학습의 효율성이 떨어지는 것으로 나타났다. 학습지도안을 작성하는 지도 교사는 거의 없으며, 중도 탈락자와 부진아에 대한 특별지도나 수준별 반 편성 등은 이루어지지 않고 있다. 또한 학부모의 관심도와 과학 교육에 대한 인식이 낮으며, 학생들의 끈기와 인내로 노력하는 자세가 부족한 실정이다. 보다 내실 있고 바람직한 특기·적성 교육활동을 운영하기 위하여 다음과 같은 개선 방안을 제시해 볼 수 있을 것이다. 과학 특기·적성 교육활동은 학생들의 직접적인 실험 활동과 실험 후의 뒤처리 문제 등으로 과학실 전용 교실이 꼭 필요하다. 따라서 유휴 교실의 활용을 통해 과학실 전용 교실이 만들어져 효과적인 교육활동이 이루어져야 할 것이다. 실험기구와 기자재의 재정 지원을 확보하는 것이다. 이를 위해 사전에 철저히 계획을 수립하여 학생들의 학습에 기구나 기자재의 부족으로 인한 교육활동의 불안정을 해소 할 수 있게 국가의 행정적, 정책적 뒷받침이 필요하다. 현행 7차 교육과정을 살펴보면 학생의 수준차이를 고려한 수준별 교육과정을 부각시켜 전개되고 있는 추세다. 그러므로 과학교육도 능력별 수준차이를 고려한 선별된 학습이 필요하다. 그렇게 하려면 수준차이를 고려하여 수준별 반편성을 실시하여 과학 특기·적성교육 활동시 보다 전문적이고 우수한 강사를 통하여 체계적이고 효과적인 교육을 받게 한다면 현재의 과학 특기·?呼볍냅? 활동을 더욱 내실 있게 운영할 수 있으리라 믿는다. 과밀한 인원의 그룹지도를 대신할 수 있는 효과적인 방안이 검토되어야 한다. 과학교육의 특성상 강사 1인이 학생 모두를 담당하여 진행하는 것은 적절하지 않으므로 보조교사를 활용하여 수업의 진행과 내용을 원활하게 할 수 있다. 보조교사로는 학부모의 참여를 이끌어 그 인적 자원을 활용한다면 과밀 인원 그룹지도에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다. 또한 보다 심층적이고 내실화 할 수 있는 과학 교육 활동에 대한 연구가 앞으로도 계속 이어져 학생의 다양성을 존중하고 창의성 및 그들의 잠재된 과학 소질과 특기가 계발될 수 있는 환경을 조성해 주도록 도와야 하겠다.|It is very important that we recognize and support students' interest, aptitude and special ability. Specially, we must make up a foundation for students to bring up their scientific thinking power, attitude and creative problem-solving ability through education. Also we have to produce the circumstances that students experience many kinds of scientific life. According to this situation, schools are activating "special talent/aptitude education", student-based educational system using idle facilities after regular classes. This system is a revolutionary educational program that provides a diverse educational activity for students by just at least cost. So, this study makes up questions to twenty-two elementary schools chosen voluntarily in Pyongtaek city and Ansong city in Kyeonggi province and analyzes the results in order to probe and diagnose the situation involved in scientific activities in "special talent/aptitude education" in elementary school and also to search more effective operation plans and improvement. The actual conditions and problems that are showed up in elementary school are summarized as follows. First, in the physical circumstances, because students can hardly use special science classroom exclusively, they have to borrow a general classroom from the lower grades. Also, they have difficulty in attending a lecture because of lacking personal experimental instruments and equipments. Moreover, there are not enough establishments to prevent the heat and the coldness in summer and winter. Second, in the management, sometimes "special talent/aptitude education" is closed by shortage of government's support and students are not controled well, so that they make some troubles in education activities. Also, "special talent/aptitude education" isn't continued during vacation or about new semester. And the efficiency of learning falls short of because of an overcrowded class. Third, in teaching, most guidance teachers didn't make out a manual for teaching. And special teaching and making up classes according to students' level for drop-outs and slump students in learning are not accomplished. Besides parents of students don't recognize, concern and interest enough. Moreover students lack tenacity and endurance. Therefore We must amend, supplement and review all problems of "special talent/aptitude education" to activate it and be rich in contents. The best way to make up "good special talent/aptitude education" is for teacher to help students recognize their scientific special ability in accordance with aptitude and character. In addition teachers have to instruct them connecting with a higher grade continuously with endurance and a long-term insight beyond just one or two years education term in elementary school. Besides the study for more ideal and popular science educational activities are to last in the future, so that teachers must respect students' diversity and make up circumstances which they can improve their creativity, potential scientific temperament and talent.
