초등학교 1, 2학년 학생의 음악 표현능력 향상을 위한 ARCS동기전략 적용 영어뮤지컬 수업 지도 방안

Abstract

대부분의 인간은 자신의 생각이나 감정을 표현하고자 하는 본성이 있으며 이러한 인간의 본성은 언어, 신체, 예술 등으로 표현할 수 있다. 예술 영역 가운데 음악으로 자신의 내면을 표현하는 것은 인간의 본성을 충족시킬 수 있으며, 인간의 감정을 해소하는데도 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 또한 음악을 신체의 움직임으로 표현하는 것은 음악적 지각 능력발달에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 음악 교육에서 중요한 음악 표현능력의 효과적인 학습을 위해서는 학습자의 동기를 유발하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 학습동기 유발 없이는 효과적인 학습이 일어나기 어렵기 때문이다. 이에 본 연구는 음악 표현능력 향상을 위해 켈러(John M. Keller, 1938~)의 ARCS동기전략을 적용하여 영어뮤지컬 수업 지도 방안을 개발하는데 목적을 두었다. 연구 목적에 따라수업을 개발하였고, 개발한 수업 지도 방안의 효과를 알아보기 위해 경기도 소재 S초등학교 방과후학교 영어뮤지컬반 1, 2학년 학생 8명(1학년 5명, 2학년 3명)을 대상으로 12차시 수업을 진행하였다. 연구 분석의 자료로는 수업영상, 수업 전사자료, 학생 인터뷰, 연구자 및 보조연구자 참여일지를 활용하였다. 그 결과 ARCS동기전략을 적용한 영어뮤지컬 수업 지도 방안은 노래 부르기 표현능력, 신체표현능력, 음악 만들기 표현능력 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤음을 알 수 있었다. ARCS동기전략을 적용한 수업은 학생들이 수업 활동에 흥미를 갖고 적극적으로 참여하며 집중할 수 있게 하였다. 학생들의 수업 참여도와 집중력이 올라감에 따라 가락, 리듬, 박자, 빠르기에 맞게 노래 부르는 능력도 향상되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 교사의 신체표현(안무)을 모방하거나 능동적으로 신체표현을 하는 능력도 향상되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 음악 만들기 활동에서도 학생들은 신체와 악기로 사물, 동물의 특징 및 소리를 만들어 즉흥적으로 표현하는 것을 즐거워하며, 계속적으로 발표하기를 원했다. 자발적이고 계속적인 표현활동들은 학생들의 음악 만들기 표현 능력 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 바탕으로 ARCS동기전략을 적용한 음악 수업 지도 방안 개발과 음악과에 초점을 둔 영어뮤지컬 수업에 대한 후속 연구가 더 진행되어야 할 것이다.|Most human beings have a nature to express their thoughts and feelings and these human natures can be expressed by language, body, and art. Among the artistic domains, expressing the inner side of music through music can satisfy human nature and positively affect human emotion. In addition, expressing music with body movements can have a positive effect on the development of musical perception ability. In music education, it is very important to motivate learners to learn effective musical expression ability. This is because effective learning is hard to occur without inducing motivation to learn. Therefore The purpose of this study is to develop a teaching method of English musical class applying Keller(John M. Keller, 1938~)'s ARCS motivation strategy to improve musical expression ability. According to research purpose developed teaching methods and In order to investigate the effect of the developed teaching method, 12 classes were conducted 8 students of 1st and 2nd grade(5 students in the 1st and 3 students in the 2nd grade) of English musical class in the S elementary school after school in Gyeonggi ? do. The data of the research analysis utilized the class recorded video, the class transcript data, the student interview, the researchers and assistant researchers' participation logbooks. As a result, it was found that the teaching method of English musical class applying ARCS motive strategy had a positive effect on improving singing ability, body expressing ability, and music making expressive ability. The class applying the ARCS motivation strategy allowed the students to be interested, actively participate, and concentrate on the class activities. As the class participation and concentration of students increased, the ability to sing in accordance with rhythm, beat, and pace improved. Also, it was confirmed that the ability to imitate the teacher's body expression (choreography) or actively express the body is improved. In music making activities, students also enjoyed expressing of objects, animals, and sounds with their bodies and musical instruments, and wanted to continue to present them. It was confirmed that voluntary and continuous expression activities had a positive effect on students' music making expressive ability. Based on this research, Further research on the development of musical teaching methods applying ARCS motivation strategy and English musical lessons focusing on music should be further pursued.
