청소년 젠더 감수성 함양을 위한 국어과 미디어 리터러시 교육

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to propose a media literacy education plan to foster gender sensitivity of adolescents. Gender sensitivity is a necessary quality for adolescents to grow into democratic citizens. Democratic citizens should have a attitude of respect and consideration and have empathy ability. Not become a person who expresses discrimination and misogyny by dividing humans by gender is laying the foundation for growing into democratic citizens. Therefore, education for cultivating gender sensitivity also has a reasonable purpose for democratic citizenship education that the curriculum aims for. This study suggest an educational plan that combines education and media literacy to cultivate gender sensitivity. This is because media literacy education is an education that can critically detect various sexist elements encountered by teenagers in digital media and develop an attitude of enjoying themselves. In addition, YouTube, one of the most closely related media with teenagers, was selected. Because as its influence grows, it often has an adverse effect on gender sensitivity. Therefore, the activity is proposed to critically analyze the sexist elements found in videos on YouTube. Chapter II suggests a valid reason to be interested in cultivating gender sensitivity in Korean language education and 'language and media' education by linking the curriculum and research topics. And textbook analysis and YouTube analysis are conducted in Chapter III, and based on this analysis, Chapter Ⅳ presented an educational plan based on cooperative learning. This study is meaningful in that it proposed an educational plan for adolescents to have gender equality values by selecting timely topics such as media literacy education and gender sensitivity.| 본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 젠더 감수성 함양을 위한 미디어 리터러시 교육방안을 제안하는 것이다. 젠더 감수성은 청소년이 민주 시민으로 성장하기 위한 필수 자질이다. 인간을 성별로 구분 지어 차별과 여성혐오를 내비치는 사람이 되지 않는 것은 곧 민주 시민으로 성장할 수 있는 밑거름을 다지는 것이다. 따라서 젠더 감수성 함양을 위한 교육은 교육 과정이 목표로 하고 있는 민주 시민 교육에도 합당한 목적을 지닌다. 본 연구는 젠더 감수성 함양을 위한 교육과 미디어 리터러시를 결합한 교육방안을 구상하였다. 청소년이 디지털 매체 속에서 접하는 다양한 성차별적인 요소들을 비판적으로 감지하고 주체적으로 향유하는 태도를 기를 수 있는 교육이 미디어 리터러시 교육이기 때문이다. 또한, 청소년과 가장 밀접한 매체 중 하나인 ‘유튜브’를 선정하였다. ‘유튜브’의 영향력이 커지면서 젠더 감수성과 관련하여 악영향을 끼치는 경우가 많아졌기 때문이다. 그러므로 ‘유튜브’ 속 영상들에서 찾아볼 수 있는 성차별적인 요소들을 비판적으로 분석하는 활동을 제안하였다. Ⅱ장에서는 교육과정과 연구 주제를 연관지어 국어교육과 ‘언어와 매체’ 교육에서 젠더 감수성 함양에 관심을 가져야 하는 타당한 이유를 제시하였다. 그리고 Ⅲ장에서 교과서 분석과 ‘유튜브’ 자료 분석을 하였으며 이를 바탕으로 Ⅳ장에서는 협동학습을 기반으로 한 교육방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 미디어 리터러시 교육과 젠더 감수성 함양 교육이라는 시의성 있는 주제를 선택하여 청소년이 성평등한 가치관을 지닐 수 있는 교육방안을 제안하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
