지각대상으로서의 사물 표현연구 : 본인의 작품을 중심으로

Abstract

본 논문은 2001년부터 2004년까지 대학원 과정동안 제작된 본인의 작품 중 2004년 개인전에 출품되었던 작품을 중심으로 작품의 내용과 전개 과정을 분석 한 것이다. 본인은 일상 공간인 집과 작업실에서 항상 접하게 되는 주변 사물들에서 어느 순간 '낯설음'을 경험하게 된다. 무심코 지나치는 사물들을 작품으로 표현하면서 사물들의 존재를 부각시키고, 본인의 감정들을 표출하게 되었다. 이러한 경험이 동기가 되어 일상공간을 재인식하게 되고, 주변사물과 본인의 관계에 대해 연구하게 되었다. '낯설음의 경험은 주변 사물에 대한 지각으로 나타나며, 사물을 지각함으로써, 본인은 두 가지 반응을 보이는데, 하나는 습관적인 시선을 환기하여 대상자체로 바라보아 사물 자체가 가지고 있는 조형적 특징에 주목하는 것이다. 다른 하나는 지속적인 바라봄의 행위를 통하여 사물들의 존재와 사물과 본인과의 관계를 모색하는 것이다. 이러한 표현 내용을 본 논문에서 '지각대상으로서의 사물'에서 설명하고, 사물들에 대한 본인의 감정과 경험을 '사물과 나'에서 언급 하였다. 본인 작품의 표현 방식은 선을 사용하여 하나의 선이 그어질 때 마다 점진적으로 형이 만들어 지는 과정을 보여주는 드로잉으로 하였다. 비교적 드로잉과 비슷한 효과를 주기위한 판화 매체로서 석판화를 사용하였다. 선을 강조하기 위해 색의 사용을 절제하고, 집적된 선의 밀도를 높이기 위해 톤의 변화에 주력하였다. 선의 집적과 중첩을 통해 지각대상으로서의 사물의 존재감과 주위환경을 유기적인 흐름으로 형성하여 본인과 사물과의 관계를 모색하고자 하였다. 결론적으로 본 논문은 본인과 사물들과의 관계를 모색하고, 사물들을 형상화하는데 있어 조형적인 요소를 서술하고 제작과정을 밝힘으로써 주제를 표현함에 있어 논리성을 확보하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 계기로 앞으로의 작품전개에 있어 하나의 지표로 삼고자 한다.|This is a research and analyses based on the works produced for the solo exhibition. These works I made during my graduate course from 2001 till 2004. I experience 'unfamiliarity' from materials which I see everyday at home and a workroom, an everyday place, at a certain moment. Through drawing those materials which I did not much care about before, I tried to bring their existence into relief and express my own feelings for them. By this experience, I came to have a new understanding of the usual places and study the relationship between materials around me and myself. The experience of 'unfamiliarity' brought out the recognition on materials around me and two reactions toward them. One is that I came to pay attention to the formative characteristic of materials through rousing habitual eyes upon them. Another is that I started to search the relationship between the existence of them and myself through steady observation. I described about them in the article, materials as the subjects of cognition, and about my own feelings and experience of them in materials and me . My works are expressed by drawing, which shows the procedures that features are gradually made by each line drawn. To give the relatively similar effect of drawing, I used a lithograph. To emphasize on lines, I used the moderate number of colors and focused on the change of tunes to raise the concentrated lines' density. I tried to find out the relationship between materials and myself by forming an organic flowing of the existence of materials as percepts and surroundings, through concentration and reiteration of lines. In conclusion, the main goal of this article is to rationally express themes through describing formative factors to find out the relationship with materials and form them, and production processes. I intend to take this opportunity for a landmark of my artistic creation.
