중학교 음악 교사들의교과서 활용실태 조사연구

Abstract

이 연구는 중학교 음악 교사들의 교과서에 대한 인식과 활용실태를 알아봄으로써, 앞으로 음악교과서가 어떤 방향으로 바뀌어야 할 것인지 개선 방향을 제시하는데 목적을 두었다. 서울 소재 24개 학교 43명의 음악 교사를 대상으로 하여 교사의 배경, 교과서의 선정, 교과서의 활용, 교과서의 평가에 관한 내용을 조사하였으며, 연구 분석 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 제7차 교육과정 이후 교사들이 사용해본, 현재 사용중인 교과서를 출판사에 따라 조사한 결과 두산과 세광음악출판사의 빈도가 가장 높게 나타났다. 사용빈도가 높은것은 그만큼 교사들이 선호하고 있는 교과서라고 할 수 있다. 둘째, 교사들은 교과서 선정에 있어 교과서 내용 자체를 가장 크게 고려하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며 그 내용의 적절성․독창성, 외형체제의 화면 구성 등을 선정 기준으로 하고 있었다. 교사들의 교과서의 선정 기준과, 교과서 지향 목표는 곧 교과서의 바람직한 집필 방향에 부합되는 내용들이다. 셋째, 실제 수업에서 교과서가 비교적 많은 비중을 차지하고 있으나 교과서의 지도 순서, 지도 내용의 선택, 교과서 외의 교수․학습 자료의 활용 등에 있어 교사들은 필요에 따라 학습자의 입장에서 교과서를 재구성하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 도서출판태성을 제외한 8종의 교과서에 대한 교사들의 만족 정도는 대략 50-90%이다. 8종의 교과서에 대한 전체적인 평가이므로 교사들의 의견은 분산되어 나타났다. 그러나 각 문항들에 대한 교사들의 이러한 평가를 종합하면 현재의 교과서는 검정 기준에서 요구하는 교과서의 모습을 충분히 반영하지 않고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 앞으로의 교과서는 이러한 교사들의 요구, 평가를 반영하여 개선되어야 할 것이며 국가나 사회의 요구, 학습자의 요구가 함께 반영되어야 할 것이다. 또한 집필자의 재량을 최대한 가능하게 하여 다양하고 창의적으로 구성되어 실제 수업에서의 중요한 교수․학습 자료로, 효과적인 학교 음악교육이 이루어지는데 도움이 되어야 할 것이다.|The purpose of this study is to investigate the actual state of music textbooks in middle school to make an advanced method of music instruction in the future. A survey of selected middle school music teachers in Seoul was made with an analysis of individual perception and actual application of textbooks. Additionally, their educational background and process of selection and evaluation of textbooks were examined. The result of this study is in substance as follows. First, textbooks of Doo-San and Se-Kwang have been preferred by teachers after carrying out 7th Music & Education curriculum. Both were listed in the order of frequency in use. Second, data was collected provided clear evidence that the most considered factor is the content when teachers make a choice of textbook and pertinence, originality, and constitution were referred in terms of criteria. Third, teachers used to recompose textbooks for the student's better understanding and course management even though textbooks still played an important part in the class. Fourth, teachers' level of satisfaction about music textbooks except Tae-Sung was within the range from fifty to ninety percent. Their opinion has been scattered rather than concentrated. However, we have shown that current textbooks did not sufficiently reflect those requirements of prescribed guidance of authorized textbooks. From this investigation, it is suggested that the followings should be carefully deliberated to make a better music education. Firstly, systematic and interesting textbooks should be developed to give rise to student's enthusiasm. When it comes to creativity of textbooks, cooperation of the author and publisher is indispensable to improvement. Secondly, teacher's new angle is necessarily needed to improve current music textbooks and it is only feasible with their considerate advice and voluntary participation. Finally, all related parties suggestions should be scrutinized with extraordinary care with constructive mind to increase efficiency and effectiveness of music textbooks.
