중학교 1학년 영어교과서 분석 : 제 7차 교육과정 중심

Abstract

본 연구는 7차 교육과정 중학교 1학년 영어 교과서를 비교 분석하고 이와 함께 교과서에 대한 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 연구 대상 자료는 13종의 교과서 중 임의로 7종을 선택하여 구성체계, 소재 및 문화, 의사소통기능, 언어형식, 신어휘수를 비교 분석했으며, 분석대상 교과서의 교사용 CD-ROM TITLE 6종을 내용 및 구성영역, 교수-학습 영역, 화면제시 및 프로그램 수행영역에 따라서 분석하였으며, 더불어 현직 교사를 대상으?? 한 설문조사를 실시하여 연구의 객관성을 얻고자 하였다. 제 1장에서는 연구의 목적 및 필요성, 연구 방법 및 절차를 기술하였다. 제 2장의 이론적 배경에서는 먼저 제7차 교육과정의 기본방향, 성격 및 특징, 목표 그리고 내용 면에서 살펴보고 영어교과서의 역할과 선택에 있어서의 기준 등을 살펴보도록 한다. 제 3장의 연구의 실제에서는 분석대상 및 본인의 연구분석모형을 살펴보도록 한다. 제 4장의 실제 교과서 분석에 있어서는 분석모형에 근거한 구성체제, 소재 및 문화, 언어형식 및 어휘, 의사소통기능 그리고 각 교과서별 CD-ROM 타이틀을 분석하여 본다. 또한 서울 소재 중학교 영어교사 40명에게 실시한 설문조사를 통하여 교사들이 생각하는 제 7차 교과서에 대한 의견 등을 알아본다. 제 5장 결론 및 제언에서는 이러한 분석을 토대로 현행 교과서의 7차 교육과정 반영정도를 정리하고 교과서의 미진한 부분이 있다면 그 문제점을 지적하고 개선 방향 또한 모색해 보고자 한다.|The purpose of this study is to analyze whether currently used middle school English textbooks match the purpose and content of the 7th curriculum. So, this study analyzes the seven chosen textbooks on the basis of the 7th curriculum. The main results of the analysis are as follows: 1. The organization of six textbooks was L-S-R-W order, yet remaining one textbook showed L-R-S-W order. It is more efficient to present two language skills and tasks at a time rather than present listening and speaking respectively. Texts of the 7th curriculum have an effective sequence of learning considering natural language acquisition. The integrated order of listening, speaking and writing is more proper than separated order in respective periods. 2. In considering topics, all the analyzed textbooks mainly deal with topics related to the daily life of students and personal relationship. The arrangement of topics should be carefully considered so as not to give weight to certain topics. 3. One of the major changes of the curriculum is to stress the learning of the culture among several contents. Most textbooks showed separated culture section in respective lessons. 4. Among forty-seven communicative functions, 'expressing intellectual attitudes' and 'exchanging information' are much shown in the textbooks. Other communicative functions are not well distributed. A varied presentations of functions as well as the spiral organization of functions is needed. 5. There are grammar parts in the five analyzed textbooks without any explanations. Each textbook has about twenty-seven grammatical items. 6. There are over two hundred new vocabularies in the six textbooks. 7. Considering the cd-rom titles of the 7th curriculum, The improvement of letter size and more interesting activity materials are needed. 8. According to the analysis of the teacher's satisfaction with the texts in question, teachers are mostly satisfied with the texts and cd-rom titles. I hope this paper will be of help for the improvement for the textbooks.
