중국 여성의 눈썹화장 연구

Abstract

중국은 일찍이 주변국가와의 활발한 교류의 영향으로 화장품제조법과 화장양식 등 많은 화장문화를 쉽게 받아들였으며, 이러한 중국의 발달된 화장문화는 한국을 거쳐 일본에까지 전파되었다. 본 연구는 동양화장문화의 중심지인 중국의 화장문화 중 눈썹화장을 중심으로 시대·문화적 배경에 따른 눈썹화장의 변화양식에 대한 특성을 규명하는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 통하여 우리나라 눈썹화장을 고찰할 수 있는 기반을 조성하고, 더 나아가 중국의 다양한 눈썹양식을 현대인의 얼굴이미지에 맞게 재조명하는 계기가 되어 현대 화장문화의 발전에 도움을 주고자 하였다. 중국 여성의 눈썹화장의 변화양상을 규명하기 위하여 본 연구는 다음과 같은 내용과 방법으로 고찰하였다. 제1장에서는 본 연구의 목적 및 범위와 제한점을 제시하였으며, 제2장에서는 이론적 배경으로 중국의 화장문화의 발달과 특성을 알아보고 중국 문헌에 나타난 눈썹화장 및 인상형성에 미치는 눈썹화장의 역할과 의미에 대하여 고찰하였다. 제3장에서는 중국여성 눈썹화장의 변화양상에 대한 특성을 살펴보기 위하여 중국의 역사적인 시기를 고대(선진시대, 진·한시대)와 중세(위진남북조시대, 수·당시대, 송·원시대, 명·청시대)의 시기로 나누어 문헌기록과 회화 및 유물자료 등에 표현된 눈썹양식에 대하여 고찰하였다. 제4장에서는 위의 연구를 종합하여 결론을 이끌어내었다. 눈썹화장의 양식은 역사, 종교, 철학사상 등의 문화사적인 배경에 의해서 변화하였으며 그 시대의 특징을 잘 나타내고 있었다. 중국 여성의 눈썹양식에는 많은 명칭이 나타나는데 특수한 경우를 제외하고는 주로 눈썹의 길이,눈썹의 굵기, 굴곡의 정도, 짙고 옅음의 정도, 그리는 위치에 따라 눈썹양식의 변화가 나타났다. 중국의 눈썹화장양식은 선진시대의 장미를 기본으로 하여 팔자미(八字眉), 수미(愁眉), 아미(蛾眉), 활미(闊眉) 등으로 다양하게 변형되어 나타났다. 또한 눈썹화장의 전성기인 한(漢)무제, 수(隋)양제, 당(唐)현종 시기에는 황제의 눈썹화장에 대한 관심이 컸기 때문에 다른 부분의 색조화장에 비해 더욱 다양하고 화려하게 성행하였고, 눈썹화장은 궁중에서부터 시작하여 중국 전역으로 유행하였음을 알 수 있었다. 앞으로 본 연구자는 중국 여성의 다양한 눈썹양식을 응용하여 현대인의 이미지와 성격에 맞는 눈썹형태를 제공함으로써 현대미용 발전의 가능성을 제시하고자 한다.|China received many make-up cultures such as manufacturing process of cosmetic and make-up style etc. easily by the influence of active exchange with surrounding nations early, and this Chinese developed make-up culture was propagated to Japan via Korea. This study aimed at examine the feature for the change style of eyebrow make-up which is based on period background and cultural back-ground closely centering around eyebrow make-up out of make-up culture of China which is the center of Oriental make-up culture. That created the base to be able to study the eyebrow make-up of our country and it became the momentum to illuminate the diverse eyebrow styles of China suitably for the face image of moderns again tried to give help to the development of modern make-up culture. So as to examine the change aspect of eyebrow make-up of Chinese women closely, this study was studied with following contents and method. In the chapter 1, goal, range and limit point of this study were presented. And, in the chapter 2, development and feature of make-up culture of China were examined as theoretical background, and role and meaning of eyebrow make-up which appeared in Chinese literature and eyebrow make-up to affect look image were studied. In the chapter 3, so as to examine the feature about the change aspect of eyebrow make-up of Chinese women, eyebrow styles expressed in literature record, drawing and relic data etc. were studied by classifying the historical period of China into ancient time(Sunjin period, Jin·Han period) and middle age(Wijinnambookjo period, Soo·Dang period, Song·Won period, and Myoung·Chung period). In the chapter 4, conclusion was deduced by generalizing above study. Style of eyebrow make-up changed by the background of culture history such as history, religion and philosophy thought etc., and it was showing the feature of the period well. In the eyebrow styles of Chinese women, many names appear. Then, except special case, change of eyebrow style appeared in accordance with length of eyebrow, thickness of eyebrow, degree of bends, degree of thickness and thinness, and drawing position. Styles of eyebrow make-up of China appeared through diverse transformation such as Paljami, Soomi, Ami, and Whalmi etc. on the basis of the long eyebrow of Sunjin period. In addition, as emperor's interest for eyebrow make-up was great in the periods of Han(Mooje), Soo(Yangje), and Dang(Hyunjong) which were the golden age of eyebrow make-up, it could be seen that it was prevalent more diversely and gorgeously in comparison with the shade make-up of other part and that eyebrow make-up was prevalent throughout China by starting from court. In the future, this researcher tries to present the possibility of development of modern beauty culture by offering eyebrow form to be suitable for the image and character of moderns through applying diverse eyebrow styles of Chinese women.
