절제된 표현을 통한 자연의 생명력 표출 = 본인의 작품을 중심으로

Abstract

본 논문은 2000년부터 2002년에 제작된 본인의 작품들 중 석사학위 청구전 [Creation of natural space]에 출품한 작품들을 위주로, 본인이 살아왔던 환경속에서의 경험을 통한 잠재된 기억 속에 부유하는 자연 이미지(Image)들을 절제된 표현으로서, 생명력을 지닌 확장된 자연으로 연상시키는 과정에 대한 탐구와 표현 방법에 대해 연구 ??술한 것이다. 예술은 작가가 경험한 것, 지각한 것, 느낀 것 등을 표현한 것으로 또 다른 새로운 세계의 표상이다. 즉, 경험과 연관되는 모든 기억이 행위자의 내면세계를 거쳐 창작 행위로 전환되는 과정을 통해 표현되는 것이라고 생각한다. 이러한 관점에 근거한 본인의 작품은 성장기부터 지금까지 살아왔던 환경에서 누적된 기억을 바탕으로 현재에서 또 다른 경험을 받아들이면서 새로운 감성 체험으로 승화된 공간을 표현한 것이다. 작품의 내용은 과거 기억 속 자연과, 작품 속에서 실재하는 자연의 공간을 주관적 시각으로 재구성하여 이루어진다. 과거 기억 속의 자연은 정서적 감성과 우연에 의한 물질의 만남으로 생성되어진다. 이것은 석판화와 아연판을 주된 매체로 하여 우연적 얼룩으로 생성된 '흔적의 공간'과 여백이 주된 표현 요소를 이룬다. 그리고 실재하는 자연의 공간은 사실적 사진과 주관적 변형에 의한 모순적 기하형태의 합일화된 구조를 기본 조형 수단으로 활용하여 입체적인 공간으로 느껴지게 의도한 것이다. 이러한 우연성에 의한 흔적의 여운과, 단순 명쾌한 조형감정을 갖게 하는 기하학적 형태의 율동적인 느낌을 적극적으로 작용시킴으로써 긴장과 생동감을 부각시켜 생성과 소멸을 반복하는 자연이미지의 생명력을 추구하였다. 결론적으로, 본 연구는 현재에서 지각(知覺)된 자연을 통해 잠재된 기억 속 자연을 연상시키는 무의식의 배경과, 영감이 가져다주는 예기치 않은 우연성에 의해 기억의 확장을 불러일으키고 눈에 보이는 이미지를 넘어선 더 넓은 자연을 가늠하고 연상시키는 그 가능성에 대해 탐구해보고자 하였다.|This paper is based on my works exhibited at [Creation of natural space], which were created during the year 2000 to the year 2002, before applying for Master's Degree. This paper is a research and description on the quest for the process of associating natural images that are drifting in 'my subconscious memory to a vital expanded nature. Art is a symbol of a new world that an artist experiences, feels, and perceives. This is expressed through a process of diverting memories that are related to experience to the actual creation. My works based on this conception expresses a new sensitive experience of space sublimated from accumulated memories. Contents are reorganized through subjective view of nature in my past memory and nature existing in my works. The nature in my past memory is created by my sense meets real worlds by chance. Main materials are lithograph and etching. Expressed main point is traces space and blank space. It is intended to feel three-dimensional space by subjective transformation. I applied various things such as traces space, simplicity, clearance forms, geometric type and rhythmical feels. So, formative feeling empathized nature's life force by repeating creation and extinction and shows tension and feelings of movement. This research shows present's perception through past memories associated with the nature. It expresses artist's unconsciousness background with expansion of memory what can't be seen in real world. It shows the possibility association of ideas with natural world and real world in a broad sense.
