재량시간을 활용한 [열하일기]의 교수학습 연구

Abstract

당대 최고의 문장가이며 사상가였던 연암 박지원은 한국 고전 문학사에 있어서 지속적인 관심의 대상이었고 그만큼 연구열도 높아 연구 성과 역시 양적 풍요를 이루고 있다. 그러나 이러한 양적 풍요에도 불구하고 국문학계에서의 연암에 대한 기존 연구는 그의 문학 가운데 연암이 20세 전후에 잠깐 썼던, 이른바 한문 소설에 집중되어 있으며 그나마도 <양반전>, <허생전>, <호질>등의 몇 편에 국한되다시피 한 형편이다. 이러한 연구 경향은 학계 연구에 영향을 받는 교육 연구 쪽에서도 마찬가지여서 대다수 연암 관련 교수학습 논문들이 한문 소설 즉 전(傳)양식에 치중되어 있고, 교과서에 실린 작품 역시 전(傳)양식이 대부분을 차지하고 있는 실정이다. 연암 문학의 본질을 파악하기 위해서, 학습자들이 연암 문학을 다양한 교육 활동의 자료로 활용하기 위해서는 무엇보다도 십여 편에 불과한 그의 ‘한문 소설’ 로부터, 양적으로 방대할 뿐 아니라 연암의 대표적인 저작인 『열하일기』로 연구의 중심을 옮길 필요가 있다. 이에 본고는 연암의 대표적인 저작인 『열하일기』를 중심으로 고등학교 10학년을 위한 다양한 교수 학습 방안을 제시해 보았다. 보다 융통성 있는 교수 학습을 위해 교사의 재량에 따라 탄력적으로 운영되는 ‘재량활동시간’을 대상으로 하였다. 최근 문학 교육은 문화지향의 문학 교육과 표현능력 교육으로서의 문학 교육을 지향하고 있다. 이에 본고는『열하일기』가 이 두 방향에 모두 부합하는 교육적 가치를 지녔음을 증명하고 두 가지 방향에 맞추어 활동지를 중심으로 한 교수 학습 방안을 제시하였다. 『열하일기』의‘문화지향의 문학 교육’적 성격은 실학사상과 상대주의적 태도에서 찾았으며 <허생전>과 「막북행정록」을 대상으로 교수학습 방안을 제시하였다. 『열하일기』의 표현능력 교육적 가치는 기본적으로 기행문의 형식을 취하면서도 때에 따라 에피소드나 논설문, 우언의 형식 등 다양한 갈래를 수용하여 작품에 입체감을 부여하고 주제 전달의 효용성을 높이는 점에서 찾을 수 있었으며, 「성경잡지」, <벽돌론>, <호질>을 대상으로 교수학습 방안을 제시하였다. 제시한 활동지만으로도 1차시의 수업이 진행되도록 구성하였으며, 이는 현장의 교사들에게 좋은 『열하일기』교수 자료가 되리라 생각한다. 『열하일기』는 조선시대 대문호 연암의 대표작이다. 연암의 자유롭고 혁신적인 사상과 문체적 특질로 인해 연구계의 중심에 섰고 끊임없이 연구되어 왔다. 그러나 그 작품의 우수성에 비해 교육되는 방식이나 활용도는 기대에 미치지 못함이 사실이다. 본고에서는 그러한 안타까움으로 인해 『열하일기』를 학교교육에 활용해 보고자 다양한 방면에서 접근을 시도하고 다양한 자료들을 제시해보았다. 미진한 자료이지만 학교 현장 교육에 조금이나마 도움이 되었으면 한다.

|As one of the best writers and thinkers of his time, Yeon Am Park Ji Won has received consistent concern and was a devoted scholar by doing a lot of research. However, regardless of how much work he has done, there has been little study in the world of his literature. Actually, it is concentrated on his Chinese novels such as <Yangban Biography>, <Hersang Biography>, <Hojil> written in 1920s. This inclination of studies on his work also occurs in educational studies, which is affected by academic research. Therefore, almost all studies about Yeon Am are focused on novels in Chinese. The abstracts of his work in the high school textbook consist of "biography modes". To figure out the true nature of Yoen Am's literature, and to enable students to utilize his works as learning materials, we need to focus of study from Chinese novels to " Yul-Ha Diary", which is great in quantity and is his masterpiece. Hereby, I present various teaching-learning methodology for 10th graders in high school students based on Yeon Am's most important work, "Yul Ha Diary". This methodology is for discretionary class, where teachers can teach students more flexibly and elastically. Today, the literature education in high school aspires to teach based on cultural understanding and focuses on the ability of expression. Under this circumstance, I tried to prove that "Yul Ha Diary" has both cultural and literary value and present a new teaching methodology combined with both values in this thesis. I found the cultural and educational property of "Yul Ha Diary" from Practical Science and Relative Concept and through <Hersang Biography> and <Makbook hangjuklock> presented teaching methodology. The educational value of "Yul Ha Diary" basically takes the form of a travelogue, and sometimes it takes episodes and editorial form. This gives the work cubical concept and efficiency to understand the work. I also presented the teaching methodology by using the ,<SungKung Magazine>, <The theory of bricks, <Hojil> The Work Book consists of each part for one class activity and this can be good teaching materials for teachers to introduce "Yul Ha Diary" "Yul Ha Diary" is written by Yeon Am, who is the greatest author of Cho-Sun Dynasty. It is his masterpiece. He was in the center of the literary world in those days, and is now studied because of his liberal and progressive thought and unique writing style. Compared to, however, the superiority of his works, the educational use has not been desirable and has not met the expectation. Disappointed by this phenomenon, I have attempted to utilize "Yul Ha Diary" in high school education in various ways. I hope this humble thesis will be a great help for teachers.
